I wonder how this will affect the 3DS until Pokemon comes out. 100k+ weekly 3DS's sold?
You mean 2ds.

Yes, I've seen this question a few times in the Media Create threads. It is odd as to how the chips seem to have fallen in regards to platforms.I made a comment in an earlier Media Create thread: I can't think of an instance previously where a clear genre king made a leap to a different platform and wasn't followed by a significant number of other games of the genre.
In effect, they've managed to do blue ocean stuff *without changing anything about the game itself*. That's quite a feat!

2ds aint coming to japan (at least not yet)
I would imagine there have been some desperation moneyhats from sony after they lost monster hunter but I would expect to see some of those series appearing on 3ds sooner or later
Holy shit, imagine hunting a Garchomp.
No, scratch that, imagine hunting a Garchomp in the sand.
Oh really? Didn't know that. I wonder why.

Reasons to put MH on Vita
- Capture the PSP crowd that broke the sales records last time
- umm Isn't expansion and growth the idea?
Why "oh wait"? Expected or not, neither the Gamecube, Xbox 360 or Vita didnt get a mainline Monster Hunter game, but the comparison was hardware sales to Monster Hunter 4 software sales, so Xbox 360 and Gamecube are valid examples as well
I think that people were comparing sales of Monster Hunter 4 to lifetime sales of Vita specifically because from the moment the game was announced, every thread on the subject has been full of people whining and crying about how the game should have been for Vita. Even this thread has some. The news that it sold more copies than there are Vitas in the wild speaks directly to this topic and provides justification for Capcom's strategy.
What if the PSP was simply a MonHun machine to many PSP owners? And the Monster Hunter market expanded into the more casual Nintendo market instead?
That article you posted up was not recent either.
Now you're just 3DS bashing. You guys are just set and happy huh
I personally find playing monster hunter on 3DS to be very compromising.
I am at the very least hoping for a WiiU version in our future. Gotta have my dual sticks and voice chat
Don't try to sell me on the awful CPP half solution and horrible screen.

MH4, Pokemans in October.
Pokemon is out in ~3 weeks. The 3ds will sell like sliced bread.

Tons of games have compromises due to the hardware that they run on. It's just a reality of the medium. If you want it on a different platform, then just hope that there are enough people who think the same as you, enough to make a significant difference in the market...You guys are just set and happy huh

They mattered so much MH4 broke prior sales records without them.No
Its a great system. I think I was pretty specific about what game I found issues with and why.
The CPP wouldn't even exist without an outright acknowledgment of this issues when it comes to certain games. Heck look at the massive effort Capcom put into the WiiU patches as proof that these modern features matter

So, insults to Iwata, bashing on 3DS, Vita port begging...WOW!
I wonder if the 2 millions are the copies of the game sold, or something else ;p
congratulations to capcom (and Nintendo)
I think they needed that after the recent news.
I'm honest; I would totaly buy an upgraded WiiU version(similar to MH3U).
off-topic(sort of):
It's so frustrating that in every freaking mon hun thread a completely unrelated handheld console gets more posts than the mother system. (and that's apart from the usual "stealth" port begging)
Keep fighting the good fight, we'll get a good controls Wii U version eventually. You guys are just set and happy huh

I don't think you have anything to worry about on that front; a western announcement would likely coincide with one for MH4 HD in Japan like it did for 3U.Same here
I mean like mentioned above. Clearly the game is good enough that people are hardly stalled by whatever compromises there are and people have already had time to adapt after 3G/3U much like we adapted to the compromising PSP editions.
But I have to tell ya. After enjoying the comforts of playing on Vita/WiiU its really hard for me to go back.
If they localize it though Ill likely grab an XL, import a CCP XL and tough it out unless they announce a WiiU version in the near future.

I got bad news for you...seriously your arguments are becoming a joke now, monster hunter 4 has voice chat

I think there are even people in this thread claiming that it will have sold more on the vita
Pretty sure the topic was on point until someone thought it to be funny to compare MH4's sales to Vita LTD sales. Let's stop acting like all Vita fans actively seek out Nintendo threads to piss in their cereal.
Surely this will come to the west, right?

It could be, but it could also be just to point out how low the Vita hardware sales are. That is why i (and some others as well) mentioned other platforms like the WiiU to add to this point =)I think that people were comparing sales of Monster Hunter 4 to lifetime sales of Vita specifically because from the moment the game was announced, every thread on the subject has been full of people whining and crying about how the game should have been for Vita. Out of curiousity, why is it an important point?its a fairly obvious and important point though
they actively piss in every Monster Hunter thread. there's better discussion on Gamefaqs and 4chan when it comes to MH.
Eh judging by the poster in question it seemed more like a random observation.

When "Vita: what could have been" is the second post in a MH4 sales related thread 2 years after the announcement of the game, you know we have problems.
