I appreciate your concern, but we can tell the difference and act accordingly.
I have a few tins of beans if you're running low.

Publicly acknowledging something like this would be suicide. Especially when a lot of it will be resolved by launch. Right now, everyone is making this into a bigger issue than it actually is. I would bet money that most of the connection, friend invite, and part chat issues will be fixed by launch. Worst case scenario, MS will just last minute push snap and other things back and apologize to customers. Like sure it's bad. But it's never a good idea to say that your finished OS will have issues based on the issues your unfinished OS is having. Will the final OS be buggy? yeah probably. But by launch, you will most likely be able to reliably play games online.I don't think they're being smug so much as being knee deep in deny mode. Deny everything until they can think of a good response. Or until after launch.
Snap isn't a feature on the ps4 anyway right?
Party Chat system on the 360 was heavily integrated into the XMB (The mini-os that ran in the system reservation). It would not be able to translate directly over to the X1 without rewriting it from scratch.
It also had a whole ridiculous matrix of permissions issues. Testing it was a nightmare.
I don't know what the new party chat system is, but I do know the audio team did not have party chat budgeted when I left, and they had almost twice the work already budgeted that they could realistically get done before launch.
There's been bad news for Sony?
How could it be any worse? I can't fathom it.
We've gotten info lately from various sources that Xbox Live (parties, friends, achievements, connectivity), Skype, Snap-In and Smartglass are all borked/unstable/crashing. And that's besides any ResolutionGate stuff.
We're beyond the looking glass. Have been for some time now.
alright who is the girl in this gif ... she looks familiar but i cant place her ...
The best thing about that GIF is that it was retweeted by the guy in the car who is also a gamer.
This is getting seriously insane. Every single time I come back to NeoGAF there's a new thread with breaking news that is bad for either Sony or Microsoft. I feel like I'm in a neverending whirlpool and there's no way to know which way is up or down anymore...
Just spin. Be zen.

I haven't seen any negativity re: Sony. This is getting seriously insane. Every single time I come back to NeoGAF there's a new thread with breaking news that is bad for either Sony or Microsoft. I feel like I'm in a neverending whirlpool and there's no way to know which way is up or down anymore...

Yes. Of course. There was a DriveClub delay, there was news that several features won't be ready for launch like the suspend feature in the other topic, there needs to be a firmware for the Bluetooth stuff and as far as we know there are other issues that haven't been clarified which the Sony insiders keep saying will be fixed with time but of course that could mean anything.
How could it be any worse? I can't fathom it.
No custom backgrounds and resume/suspend isn't available on day 1. I canceled my pre-order after hearing about that.
Indeed.Definitely wait.

Who to believe in that thread, ERP who apparently worked at Sony once, or bkilian who worked on the Xbox One audio team and thinks there's validity to the rumor?
Honestly neither console should be launching this year. The games and services aren't ready. PS4 should have been with inFAMOUS and X1 with Titanfall.

But that's not really the same as an OS that sounds completely broken right now.
LMAO really?
out of curiosity how many mods does neogaf have?
evillore, kara, you , kev ... ??
Of course it could get worse.
In the other thread, I hypothesised from my ass that the info between CBOAT and Bish was that the day 1 patch would brick consoles.
Utter crap with no genuine base or source, but as a hypothetical scenario? That's worse.

I'm really enjoying the schadenfreude considering how little Microsoft seems to care about games. It's kind of delicious.
This guy at B3D worked at MS in the Xbox division and helped design the Xbox One audio chip before he left, discouraged by the new direction of the division:

Penello seems unconcerned, but I'm not sure the tweets make much sense, since we know the Titanfall footage is stock:
