New Xbox One Rumors: PS4 PSN > XBL, snap crashes games, ES RAM life long bottleneck

The OS will work, but what is hinted is that some features could be unstable at release. No one can understand the full severity of these bugs or what amount of man-hours would be needed to resolve them. Only Microsoft knows. What scares us is that some of those unstable features seem to be critical ones (Online/Matchmaking specially), but perhaps the silver lining could be that those would be the priority ones to get resolved.
Features are one thing. Sony confirmed no suspend/resume of games at launch which sucks but isn't a necessity. But matchmaking and live not being stable is huge

Hopefully MS can disable the features for launch and add them when they are ready. Better to do that then launch with broken features.

There is literally no Xbox One logo on that. Oh my god, if its delayed.. :lol

That has to be a error of some kind, maybe its from a Euro country that does not get Xbox One this year? Like Denmark or something?

That makes sense, but if its from US or UK then its a tad bizarre

Yet I don't see 3 topics on this...hmm...

I think its really too soon to freak out about OS bugs right now - if its not fixed by launch, people can complain - otherwise, its all just hypothetical freaking out.

We've seen mixed rumors respecting PS4 OS, some say there are minor problems other that those are pretty big too. But seems there's a clear consensus on Xbone OS situation.

Dosn't help Xbone multi versions are missing from a lot of hand ons

PS4 OS is not crash city guys, its been covered by other people in the know.

I wouldn't panic because there's nothing to panic over right now on PS4 side.

There is a plan in place and I don't know any kind of deadlines but the PSN going up for PS4 is part of that plan but some might see it as Sony being behind.

There is some issues on Sony's side but not like MSFT.

The issues I have heard about are based on connection which is due to go up next week.

If things go as they should it should be fine since we're fast approaching Sony getting their network on for PS4.

If I can get confirmation I will but it depends on availability.
Anonymous asked:I'm not sure Sony has been particularly forthcoming with unedited footage of their OS, either. They've both been pretty cagey in that regard.

Jeff Gerstmann: Didn’t some French site post a ton of raw, off-screen footage of themselves fucking around with a PS4? Could’ve sworn I saw that awhile ago.

Anyway, yeah, they’ve both been a little cagey, I guess. But I feel like I know way more about how the PS4 front-end will look and work, while all the Xbox One dashboard and multitasking footage looks… fake?

Verendus also chimed in, so far things are ok on PS4 side.

also, this:

I took this weeks ago when the promo stands for AC4 appeared in (UK) stores and never posted it as I couldn't be sure of any significance. I still don't think there is any, but your post reminded me of this... note the missing logo, heh.

I know Sony has a deal in Europe to be lead platform for marketing materials, but it's not normal for them to not mention the brand at all, especially when XBL and 360 are mentioned.

I can't help but get the feeling the next month could be a deluge of shit for both platform holders, this is always the time when all the stuff they try to hide comes out.

We knew about this yesterday. Other insiders said that PS4's problems were typical teething problems as the systems enter the final month. Different than XBO's Live issues and snap problems.

Ahh. It must have been both OS's being described as crash-city that threw me off.

Not sure if this was posted yet, despite being a day old, I found nothing in a search. Just more on the next-gen OSes and Smartglass being a wreck.

No offence to Bird Man, but I feel he read that info from what Famous posted yesterday night/in the morning.

He should say if he got that info from his own peeps or if he just read GAF that morning. I literally rolled my eyes when he posted that on Twitter because it was Famous who posted that same shit here.

That looks like Tesco, in the UK.

Sounds like NextGen is a year too early.

Dat competitive advantage. :p

I think both systems/networks are going to be a mess. Might be a clustermess for both companies come launch day. <popcorn.gif>

I don't think the PS4 situation is as dire as Xbone's. I wouldn't expect everything to work on Day 1. Xbone's problems seem to originate from management rather than development, and issues from the former will have far more serious consequences.

UK, Tesco Superstore.

I...eh...dont have a answer then. I know here in DK we arent getting a Xbone til next year, i dont expect AC4 or any game to be here until next year.

But its suppose to be there in UK, and the inclusion of the 360 logo is even stranger. If both 360 and Xbox One logos were missing then its just a marketing deal

How do we know that? Neither are showing anything. Could be small, could be major.

Emily Gera, writer for Polygon, has different sources:

To all the friendly redditers, I have a very reliable source who has used the QFE 5 version of Xbox One's OS and it's perfectly fine

https://twitter.com/twitgera/status/394892955732819971

I'm told there are a few niggling missing features but everything else is fine #XboxOneOSGate--------(questioned about missing features) answer- Little things like some of the xbox party stuff. Nothing integral. and 90% of the online experience works as is

Lastly:https://twitter.com/twitgera/status/394892838472650752

I'm also told from source X1 OS is in better shape than PS4 OS, but both will be ready for launch

Maybe it's me, but I really don't get why half this forum seems to be estatic about the fact that the XBone seems to launch as a complete clusterfuck. With the Wii U doing Dreamcast numbers and the XBone maybe completely imploding at launch there's a serious threat to console gaming, which no matter how die hard Sony fan you are is bad for everyone. The writing is on the wall for a massive console crash if the PS4 won't sell gangbusters.

Especialy with the dissapointing performance we see so far, with consoles at launch already being destroyed by PCs, not to mention what will happen four years from now. COD @ 720p is absolutely ridiculous and 900p for BF4 is definitely dissapointing.

And aside from all that we have to get our news through leaks and twitter, because the so called journalists covering this industry are a complete joke. We are only a couple of weeks from launch and there's hardly any serious reporting on the new consoles. Just hallelujah on a new gen, no criticism, tough questions or simple honest comparissons.

Seriosuly, if things are getting even worse as CBOAT and Bishop seem to imply, PS4 better become the new PS2 or else comfy couch gaming will be powered by Steam in the very near future.
