Nintendo Direct for NA/EU coming tomorrow (3DS, Q1 2014 games)

Digital game sites have been allowing you to download your purchased games across multiple devices for literally a decade. Cross-platform stuff too, although that's a bit more recent.

Nintendo should have had it ready for the Wii. The fact that they not only missed the Wii, but the 3DS and Wii U is beyond belief.

Joe thinks the new advancements in Web and App development are a fad though. Maybe cross-platform purchases are too?

It was a decent Direct, but considering the xbox One and ps4 are launching soon i was hoping for more. Especially on the Wii U front. Getting frustrated with Nintendo's lazy approach to the Wii U overall.

Pretty good direct and I didn't even watch the Zelda trailer or some of the Mario stuff.

The 3DS Miiverse bomb was finally dropped. That's huge.

Nintendo just pisses me off so much, why don't you promote your Zelda game by putting its precuel on the VC?, you dumb fucks?.

Hmm... I wonder if their's an IGN exclusive reveal incoming... Kind of odd for her to be in the Direct (Read: At NOA HQ) otherwise...

she works there, so isn't that surprising to see her there.

(she left ign a while ago, rich also left and now works for nintys ad/media partner agency thing)

Much better Direct than I was expecting. 3DS OS is pretty much perfect for me once Miiverse is out, assuming it works smoothly. Just add in VC cross-buy and you'll have an excellent system going for you finally, Nintendo.

On the direct, I immediately closed out of the page once Reggie gave the spoiler alert on SM3DW, thank god for the warning. Hopefully there wasn't a big news item (unrelated to SM3DW) that came at the end, although judging by the reactions here I don't there there was.

Speaking of Shin'en, isn't Jett Rocket 2 coming out any time now? Could have sworn they were aiming for a late 2013 release.

Welp, I guess that question was answered swiftly this morning. :D

Still no Flipnote, but I'll forgive if the Youtube app allows you to view 3D videos.

Except for, you know, needing to rebuy your old games if your system is lost. Unless you want to file a false police report, I guess.

early was GAF's doing since we beat them to it lol.

All Directs from now on could use some new challengers approaching now too.

Is online multiplayer such a hard thing to accomplish with Mario -_-.

The way i see Nintendo approach online, with a moderated miiverse, and banters in sports club, its becoming clear they are afraid of nasty people online.

If they made mario online, they wouldnt want voicechat, with people cussing out kids. The problem is, itd only be fun if you have voicechat. Nintendo wants to create a safe environment for kids. They dont want their flagship mario games degraded by someone calling a parents 7 year old kid a %$%* while playing a family safe game.

Thats just the way it is.

I actually completely forgot about this Direct, and I am a huge Nintendo-fan. I think that speaks volumes on their stand right now, and it makes me sad watching the direct now, that they are not really doing anything of note to change that.

Not really. GAF crashed and the stream was choppy. I wish other people had forgot...

It's called parental locking and disclaimers before going online.

So ehh, what's the reason for Nintendo retroactively cancelling the Shin Megami Tensei IV release in Europe?

Did it sell so bad in the US?

Please let me blame bad US gaming taste for this fiasco...

Its been pretty clear that they were terrified of online hostility ever since the magnificently terrible idea of game-by-game friend codes on the ds and incremental progress since.
