So he pulled the power cord and now his system is fucked and people are surprised? He said he had put it to sleep and then pulled the plug.
It seems all of those failures are related to improper shut down.

I wonder what console the journalists got... retail or debug? I am guessing debug so they can get direct capture...
Even if it is a really low fail rate, this kinda news is chilling so early on.
I'm betting if you swap the drive it will work.
Something in the boot process seems to be getting corrupted.
I believe 1 has had a console die. The rest are from reddit, Kotaku and twitch.
People, don't forget that a 1% failure rate is kinda industry standard, so unless this is going really big on the weekend, I wouldn't worry ... too much... for now.
Okay, the guy on Twitch basically admitted he pulled the power plug while downloading the game. He has it booting to safe mode, and still won't try and download the fucking patch to a USB to try and fix the problem.
It's basically his only hope and he's ruled it out. Infuriating.
Oh man, now I don't know if I should cancel my PS4 preorder and wait it out or not....
do you have a link to the PS4 patch?
i should get that shit now cause i know Friday is gonna be a mess

The guy hosting the video is technically incompetent, how on earth does he not have a fucking USB laying around.

LOL
Dude has no patience. How does he use any technology.

There is also a big factor people have to take note of. In 2006 the internet was not as big. Facebook, twitter, reddit or other social media were in their infancy. In 2006 these 4 people would not be able to vent their rage to millions of people. These small cases can become front and centre nowadays where they wouldn't be before.
He pulled it after it frozeUm, why would someone dream of pulling the plug WHILE the console is downloading?
Don't put this on him.
So how exactly did this happen? The guy in the stream says that he was downloading DCUO and then his PS4 froze and it wasn't turning off so he turned it off it's self.
I'm so scared to download any kind of updates to my PS4 on Friday..I don't even want to put the day one patch on there via USB or via Wifi..
He is not the only one with console problems today. I would call this a software bug not user error.I put not being able to help himself on him.
Most people who bought consoles on launch day in 2006 were probably very active on the Internet
This is fucking ridiculous, Sony seems to have lost all the momentum gained since the reveal in such a short time.
No that's not what he said. He pulled the plug after the console went haywire while downloading DCU. Not while it was downloading.

This guy is so whiney. Yea, it sucks, dont talk like a baby though.

Thanks. We were not aware.guys PS4 just broke live on twitch http://www.twitch.tv/hi11zones
Can't even get online without the 1.5 patch. Good lawd. The good news is...if it's a software issue they'll patch and hope they include dlna with it. The bad news is stay away from 1.50 until we know more.

But in the current, digitized world, trivial information is accumulating every second, preserved in all its triteness. Never fading, always accessible.
Suck to hear your PS4 bricked dude.
My 7th Xbox 360 has been humming along like a champ for the last 2 years. But it was a bumpy ride to get a stable console on that shit, lol.
I'm definitely weary of any software updates. But I consider the risk I take as an early adopter of a console.
This is new and exciting information.guys PS4 just broke live on twitch http://www.twitch.tv/hi11zones

Actually, sorry if this was asked already, but do we know how many PS4s were given away? I feel like if this was a major issue, people who got an early PS4(ex: Francis) they would of said something by now.
