Xbox One review embargoes lift Nov 19th (Tuesday 9PM PT/12AM EST)

Lol, could MS be any more obvious with this shit? If it's bad it's bad, let it be known. Waiting until last minute won't change anything. People can still return the game.

Only thing that matters is Zoo Tycoon. If it can live up to its predecessors, it will be amazing. It's too bad it will lack content compared to Zoo Tycoon 2 with the expansions. Hopefully DLC will be eventually available for it. I suspect it will get terrible reviews because of the type of game it is, though. Still, I'm hoping for a 7+/10 or so.

Most likely Ryse will have bad reviews.
But it could just be like kotaku said and Microsoft wants to stagger the reviews to keep the Xbone in the news the whole week.

I don't buy it, if MS wanted that they would do 2-3 game reviews per day, not 6-0-1-1.

Well that 0 is the day that the xbone hardware reviews go up.
Monday is a big games review day, Tuesday is the xbox one review, Wednesday is Forza, Thursday is Ryse.

And the reviews go live in the morning, so it isn't like it is the eleventh hour exactly...

I think Zoo Tycoon will be the most well reviewed game, followed by Forza. Also expecting dead rising to get decent enough reviews because, despite all the technical issues, it still looks fun as hell. Ryse bomba though

Lack of content is the games biggest detractor

Dead Rising 3: lost some of its colourfulness, horrible fps drops and graphic problems

KI: Lack of content for a fighter.

Lack of content for a racing game makes sense but I think reviewers will give the nod to quality. 85 (which was the Horizons score) is probably the basement score for this title. I'm just going by the Turn 10 pedigree.

Dead Rising 3 still seems like it hasn't lost any of the things that have made past installments fun. I don't see it going below 75.

KI lacks content but it's also a title that can be purchased for $20. So it kind of balances out. I think it will review well.

Full disclosure: I'll be picking up Battlefield, Ryse, and Crimson Dragon at launch. DR this winter and I may pick up KI if someone wants to play it with me (I'll definitely try the free character). Anything to pass the months until TitanFall comes out!

I see where you're coming from though. :cheers

According to my source, Microsoft have scheduling one hour 2-on-1 appointments in SF and LA. They're an hour long just to make sure the journos are familiar with current UI after they are given retail-debug hybrid consoles.

Really curious to see how KI scores. I think it's pretty obvious from the copious amounts of playtime people have had that it's good, but I'm wondering if they'll ding it points just because of the staggered content release (specifically story mode) even though the price is pretty fair for what you get at launch and beyond. Not to mention it's a fighting game and it's pretty obvious from most of the podcasts I listen to that most of the gaming press is not all that interested in them. I don't know. We'll see.

Looking forward to hearing what the press thinks. I got a PS4 and will be getting an XBO at launch, so this will be really fun. Play some PS4, read XBO reviews and impressions all week, and then get my XBO. Nice.

Better to build from the ground up for next gen.

Whaaaaaaat?

I encourage all of you to play any game that holds your interest, regardless of how the reviews turn out.

If I listened to reviews I'd never have played Knack, and now I absolutely dig it.

that's a serious financial investment for games that you have no idea how they will turn out, though.

Ryse must be all kinds of awful if its' embargo ends right before launch. Sure looks like they are trying to get as many sales as possible for Ryse on Day One before word of mouth sinks it (a la Aliens Colonial Marines). Would love to be proven wrong.

Horizon at the very least did something new. Forza 5 has better AI and some other tweaks.

Thank goodness somebody bumped this thread so I could see that Ryse prediction, Made my day.

I'll stick with the prediction I made about PS4 launch titles. No game will average 90 or higher. Ryse thread will be glorious.

I'm guessing that Forza 5 will get the best reviews out of the retail-exclusive games. Zoo tycoon will get some backslash for being released as a full-retail title. Dead Rising 3 will get reviews that are around the same level as Killzone SF.

Ryse will be very polarizing among reviewers. I can't predict what kind of metacritic it will get, can be anything betheen 5's and 8's.

I'm really curious to see how it goes. Hoping for the games to get good scores, of course :).

Ryse will be lucky to average 60 on Metacritic, it makes Knack look like Super Mario 64

I think Forza will do well, it is a very solid series, DR3 will probably do Killzone esque scores.

I'm a little iffy on reviews after those PS4 ones. Mostly because Knack was way better than what the reviews led people to believe. So now I don't know what to think other than if it looks good to you at least give it a rent. Even if Ryse scores are awful, it could be a fun weekend romp.

I think Forza is going to be the only game that will get 9 or higher. Ryse is going to be pretty, but boring. Unless Polygon reviews it. (*badum tschhh*).

Edit: I really only see Ryse as a way to promote the TV show.

It might but it shouldn't

Forza 4 is a 91, Forza 5 is an upressed version with less cars/tracks.

Forza 4 is a much much better game than Forza 5.

How can you possibly say that when you have not played it and probably won't? More content does not exactly equal a better game or I would have loved GT5 over Forza 4.

Firstly I have played it.

It's very much similar to Forza 4 but we know it has less of everything.

I find it completely nutty that various games have different embargoes from the same publisher. The Ryse one has me a little apprehensive, but it was part of what sold me on the console, so I'm still buying it. I like Dynasty Warriors games, so I think it'll meet my expectations.

After playing it at the X1 Area One event, I wouldn't say it's like Dynasty Warriors. There won't be that many enemies on screen at once and the attack system is like a little less fluid mix between Assassin's Creed and the Arkham games.
