resogun is an indie free game....isnt an aaa....is fun isnt a colossal u cant compare a 9 of forza with a 9 of resogun

FIFA 14 is free (actually bundled) in EU for some customers and some gamers are getting KI for free in the US . Does that invalidate them from our appraisal of launch software? Note: Resogun is not free it's bundled with PS+.

A game is a game. Triple AAA or not ( a useless term describing mostly nothing that really matters).

But perhaps. A game with infinitely less resources in both development and marketing getting equal review acclaim actually means that it's 9 is a lot better than 9 for a game with a larger budget.

It probably does.

Man seeing as how people are taking about Resogun, how awesome would have a Geometry Wars sequel been?

Spent a lot of time with GeoWars even though I sucked. It was super addicting.

I just find it funny that RYSE has become the whipping boy of the X1's launch lineup when there are a whole host of other games that are launching for the system. If the game sucks, don't buy it, move along and buy something else. No need to harp on it.

I'm expecting

5 or 6 for Ryse
7 or 8 for NBA2K
8 or 9 for Forza
7 or 8 for Lego
and 7 or 8 for AC

3 of those games have pretty much been reveiwed. Their review score won't be far off from the score it got on other consoles. More likely, it will be the exact same. AC4, NBA2K, and Lego, are solid 8s/8.5s.

everything in the production of an aaa game is done in "big"...you can clearly see that resogun (for how much fun and well done it is) is an indie game

reviewers tend to have a good hand (and i approve it) with indies

So, an Indie Game, which btw is not free, that gets a 9 is not as good as a "AAA" game that gets a 9?

i think that the rating system is just stupid to evaluate a game..BUT...
when i see a game like gran turismo taking some 8 / 8.5 i take that rate thinkin at all of what theres behind that game...
now with all respect for little games (wonderfull games) as journey or resogun..lococycle or i dont know what theres is on xb1...a 8.5 of GT..isnt comparable of a 9 of resogun TO ME...
the work behind AAA games is immensly bigger than an indie game...

Interesting stagger of bargos'. Ryse probably will be the lower scorer with dr3 and forza near the top.

I think Killer Instinct will be a suprise hit. Didn't care much about it until I watched some vids the other day. Looks fun as hell.

Personally I'd probably get dr3 and ki at launch. I love Forza but I'm saving my driving cash for Horzion 2.

is fun is cool is nice...but clearly is a small production

a good indie sci fi movie could have a super fantastic idea..and probably will take fantastic review.....

but only if u arrive to hit the money for a big producion u can do a sci fi colossal

(and the work behind a colossal is bigger than an indie movie)

same for the music production (and i know this on my skin)

and same for videogames

Tetris can't be considered AAA game. But long after Ryse hits the many landfills and is forgotten. Tetris will live on as one of the greatest games ever. Developed for a fraction of the cost.

Big GFX engines are nice but you need a game to be actually breathing inside of it. Ryse looks like it's on life support.

We'll see soon enough.

Staggered embargo is one thing, but they should reverse the order. IF they are worried that Ryse is going to get hammered it is best to let it happen earlier. I wouldn't want one of my flagship games getting hammered the night before release. Have the positive reviews come last MS.

You're indie movie analogy is broken. You should watch some films as well as play some games. Good is good. Simple as that. But when bad is expensive it's more disappointing. Why? Because for the money we could have had numerous good ones.

That's all.

the goals of an AAA are differents of an indie game...resogun take 9.3 ...a rate that has been given to masterpiece like uncharted.....(also more)...

this two games are uncomparable...and their rating too

ps i think i watch and listen a lots of indie movies.and musics.and play a lots of games thnx :)

Forza 5 doesn't deserve to get 90+. 5th game on a next gen console racing sim that still doesn't have day/night or weather. It has less cars and tracks than the previous games, removed modes, and 50 dollar DLC that should have been in the game. I'll be shocked if it got 8.5+.

Forza 5 70-80
Ryse 50-60
DR3 50-60
CD 60-70
KI 70-80

Unfortunately the media does not know how to review racing sim games unless you turn to specialist websites/enthusiasts.

As a huge KI fan, I expect the game to not score well

like its a great game, but we have 6+1 characters at launch, no arcade, no story... All this plus 2 characters arrives in march

2nd phase of KI promises a doubling of characters, adding of finishers... Possible alternate ultras, etc

its hard to score a game that has a lot of its content coming but isn't there yet

I *hope* reviewers are given a chance to use spinal and fulgore and hope they have one character story mode to play so they know what to expect

its hard to rate the first phase of a platform as a game... Because you can't exactly review a promise... Even if its a fantastic game at its core (which it is)

More likely I think they will not review the game at all and wait for the last two characters and the story mode. It would be irrational to review it at its current state.

I honestly doubt that the press for the most part will go hard on MS, they'll probably give them a few passes. For example, for Forza 5 they'll say something along the lines off "While it may lack content, this is expected from a launch title and so we can't dock points!"

For DR3 they'll probably say "Though the graphics are lacking and framerate dips freqently, The gamplay far outweighs those negatives!"

For KI, I have no idea what to make of the game, but they'll probably praise MS for having the courage to bring back an old franchise

For Ryse they'll just talk about how the graphics look amazing and that'll be that.

The XB1 Hardware itself will get higher scores overall than the PS4, I"m almost certain of that.

I'd gladly eat crow though, but from the Press's behavior in the last few months, it really seems they're going to go very easy on MS, compared to Sony.

That Ryse Embargo is messed up. It's like they know the reviews will be terrible and want everyone buying it to go in blind.

I have a feeling Crimson Dragon will not be reviewed particularly well because of the type of game that it is. I was a pretty big fan of Panzef Dragoon Orta, so I'm hoping it's at least decent.

Damn I hate it when publishers withhold reviews until it's too late to cancel orders, such a dirty business tactic. I'd bet quite heavily that Ryse will be average at best, or else they'd be hyping it asap after PS4's underwhelming reviews.

You can always return the game for full refund if you don't want it (assuming you haven't played it yet of course).

Forza 5 70-80
DR3 50-60
KI 70-80

Forza has never recieved below an 85 for a retail launch. What makes you think this will be any different?

Dead Rising 2 got an 80 and DR 3 offers everything that DR2 does but more and zanier.

I think KI will probably be in the 80s.

The other two are probably spot on though.

Is this satire?

I don't know man, maybe I'm being too serious about it, but it does feel like MS has been giving a lot of passes. From the press trying to defend their DRM plans (not all of them, but quite a few), to most everyone downplaying the power differences between the two. We'll see though. Again that's just how it feels, ultimately I'll have to play the games myself to find out if they're good or not.

I suspect that they're going to get hit with complaints about little content, and considering that there's only 14 tracks and the smallest amount of cars available in the series thus far, that would appear to be valid (especially considering GT6 is on the horizon with more than twice the tracks and apparently twice the Premium cars).

When gt7 finally makes it's way to next gen consoles, they will have considerably less tracks and cars as well.

See GT2 ------ GT3..
