The idea of more skyrim combat in an MMO isn't exactly appetizing. The Elder Scrolls series is long over due for a combat overhaul, especially since games like Dark souls, Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter are eating it's lunch.

Skyrim was a fantastic game, one of my favorites. But fuck, it's combat is terrible.

Edit: Plus, I doubt it'll have the mod support Skyrim had. Skyrim was a severely flawed game on PC but mods filled in a HUGE number of the cracks.

I'll be on later this evening or tomorrow. I've not looked up any information on this game, other than a brief glimpse at the live stream they had at... Quakecon I believe?

Anyways, I'm a big fan of the TES games but don't really know what to think about it being an MMO. Hoping to come out of this with a positive impression.

Also, very much agree with the people saying that the combat in TES games needs a major overhaul. It's by far the weakest point.

I've gotten several emails for playing but every time I see that timed window I just lose interest. I hate modern MMO betas doing this stuff, I'm sure it makes plenty of sense but it's a bit annoying to download a big client just for like 36-48 hours of a window to log in on

Was all set to give this a whirl this weekend, esepcially since it took forever to download. But I get home today to find the install failed due to drive space, and for some reason, the launcher keeps starting the download over, despite the ESO folder having 40gb worth of files in it.

Sucks, but by the time I finish downloading it, apparently a second time, the testing window will be closed for this time :(

  1. Mute login music
  2. Play Morrowind theme
  3. Wait for the hordes of users trying to log in at once to be gone

Did you play morrowind when it came out or way after? It hasnt held up well but it was one of the first pc games that really wowed me with its depth.

I've heard this game is basically skyrim online...guess we'll see. Quests are supposedly pretty lame. BTW, how many servers will be up. Is there a plan for gaf to be on one server?

Not having any luck creating a character. I guess I'll try again in a few hours.

Edit: Scratch that, seems it went through even though it kicked me or whatever. Requesting character load now... almost there!
