I can't seem to wrap my head around the combat. You're supposed to parry in the direction of the other person's attack, but half the time the camera is facing Raiden head on and I can't even see who's attacking me.

I love the over-the-top action, but I'm not too crazy about the gameplay. I really wish it had a lockon system to solve the camera problems.
There is a lock-on system, but I wouldn't say it "solves" the camera problems.

I'm using Type B, because I like flicking the Left analog stick to use the sword in Blade Mode, and Lock-On is Right Bumper/R1.

Ok after the restarting the game it works perfectly now, 1080, 60Hz, 60 fps, no black bars, and no bugs.

Gonna play more starting tomorrow. cant wait to start knowing how to play well.

I don't think I ever used the analog sticks for blade mode aside from when it was absolutely necessary. Face buttons feel much better for me so I just use Type C which just changes the triggers around. I need to be able to move the camera around while mashing the face buttons in blade mode. Can't do that with Type B, I don't think

he said he wouldn't be working on or releasing the fix.

hopefully Platinum will get to it; it's not Durante's responsibility.

Durante shouldn't be relied upon either, it's pretty unfair to start shouting for him everytime a PC game isn't up to scratch.

I have to say performance wise, this game is performing REALLY well. Definitely a better port than most JP games.

Just finished the first part..Damn this runs smooth and feels so good. Just finished Lords of Shadow yesterday so I keep pressing LT for parry, probably take me a few hours to get rid of that habit.

Also, there's no dodge? Just Ninja run and parry? Or am I overlooking something?

Ok, for anyone having the blurry mess problem when making a custom resolution under 1080p: Just make a custom resolution over 1080p (like the ones usually made for downsampling) and set it as your desktop resolution before launching the game. This will have it running at 60hz at 1080p.

Runs pretty smoothly for me, feeling like there might be a little bit of micro-stutterring or something of the sort going on though. Probably just tearing when it drops to 59fps. Don't get any big drops in Zandatsu mode at all though.

i5 750 @ 3.9Ghz
GTX 770 4GB
1080p 8xMSAA 16xAF Everything maxed

Start to see framedrops if you cut something ~600 pieces where it drops ~55fps.

I'm playing the game windowed and it takes up less than half of my screen @1080p. Durante pls.

An X+A dodge is one of the first skills you can buy.

Not just 24fps, but also 50.

I consider this to be a good port, though. Needs some patches, but hey, I've been PC gaming for 17 years. I'm used to games needing patching.
30Hz for me on a Iiyama ProLite E2473HDS through DVI.
@PG_jp said it might be an HDMI issue, so I'm doubting that.

Hmmm... GPU Tweak says my GPU doesn't run at 100% capacity when playing Rising.

Anyway to fix that?
The FPS are locked, so it should be lower than 100% if you're reaching that limit.

Well, I think I can say the Dualshock 4 is not made for the quick analogue movement the game's qtes use. Rubber has started burning off. Bummer.

Very impressed with the port, runs really well for me and even the keyboard/mouse controls weren't too bad either. Of course I switched to controller very quickly anyway :) It's most definitely a good first port for Platinum and things can only get better if they get to port more of their games to PC. Here's hoping Konami let them patch the game as much as they want and that they want to support it.

So what are the issues with the PC port then so far ? Would they be the following ?

1. Needs resolutions above 1080p supported
2. Support for over 60fps/60Hz
3. Online only bug (this is an assumption/likely to be the case)
4. Runs at 24fps for some people in full screen

Anything else to add to the list ?

5. Let us fucking download the Japanese voices

Found a bug trying to play window. I am using a PS3 controller via the XInput wrapper method. I am using the Type C control scheme.

If you get a windows notification and your task bar comes up, several actions are locked in gameplay:

1. You can't stop ninja running when you move. Not pressing the R1 button? To bad, you can't stop ninja running. Even if you only tilt the analog stick slightly and glued the R1 button in place, NINJA RUNNING. Stop moving period? Okay, no more ninja running :I

2. In blade mode, Raiden walks around by default, instead of the camera moving.

3. Task bar refuses to go away.

To fix both issues, you have to exit the game. Going to the title screen or changing to fullscreen does not fix the issue.

Platinum.

Platinum.

Guys.

Platinum.

I still like your very enjoyable game.

Runs great for me:
i5 3570
GTX 770 3GB
8GB RAM

My monitor's native res is 1920x1200 but 1920x1080 is fine.

But holy shit, the Logitech F510 controller I have does NOT work for Blade Mode at all. Played through normal and hard on PS3 with no issues, but the stick on this controller just doesn't have enough "snap" to make it work.

Guess I'll buy a DS4 this weekend...

the dodge move is very powerful, buy it immediately once you can buy moves (X + A is the input)

Completed the first mission. Playing on hard and got obliterated in the beginning. To say the parrying tutorial is utterly pointless would be a ridiculous understatement. I only figured it out during the IF Prototype fight and promptly got the 10 parries achievement in a few seconds lol. Still, took me a while to get a hang of the combat but by the end of the first mission it felt pretty great and the boss fight against
Mistral
was so awesome.

And holy shit, they got me again, sitting in the Codec interface listening to everything anyone has to say. This will be a long playthrough.

I'm using Type B, because I like flicking the Left analog stick to use the sword in Blade Mode, and Lock-On is Right Bumper/R1.

I'm using Type C because that's the default controls from the PS3 version on a dual shock 3.

I don't have a lot of issues with the camera, so I'm not quite sure what problems people are having or if I'd agree with them.

I started on Normal, because it's been months since I last played and figured I needed some time to shake off the rust. Well, my brain is still thinking I'm playing on revengeance mode, so I expect my parries to lead to instant death and I end up trying to blade mode/QTE when it's not triggered yet... :lol

TheSeks

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
I saw someone post screens from the Jetstream Sam DLC, since it's only been hours since launch I'm assuming I don't have to finish the game for it. So how do I unlock it?

Konami code will unlock the DLC and Revegence. I suggest starting the game at Revegenence first so the difficulty is saved. Simply get to the first checkpoint and then restart and it should have All the difficulties unlocked for you to choose to start the prologue with AND the DLC chapters.

Game's fun as fuck. The music for fights is awesome.

I've encountered some funny bug with objects, though; they rotate, sometimes while slightly floating as well.

Also, WHY IS THE MOUSE CURSOR PRESENT IN MENUS WHEN USING CONTROLLER AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. They need to fix that. It bugs the hell out of me.

It's beautiful.

Damn right, it wouldn't have been a Metal Gear game otherwise.

It was slightly overseen by Kojima productions at best. Mercury Steam are the developers.

Konami contracted out for that port.

Mercury Steam is doing Lords of Shadow 2 PC however.

Game was developed by Mercury Steam, Kojipro helped with cutscenes and engine optimisation from what I recall.

Logo is still there nonetheless.

Ah, makes sense now.

I was having the 24 Hz problem in fullscreen and managed to fix it by editing a value in memory (02DB2618) to force 60 Hz. Not a proper fix but it works if you want to go that route.

Not sure what's going on but the game deleted my save twice now, I beat Mistral, upgraded Raiden, started the next stage & quit after Bladewolf says he's gonna scout ahead, when I go to load it back up my save is gone.
