I know how this arc ends but I can't wait to see how it gets there.

It was probably one of the best moments in the show's run.

I actually really liked how Araragi was almost completely deconstructed in SS. In the first season he's some hero running around solving girl's problems and acquiring a harem. In SS he isn't there for Hanekawa in her time of need, he sees what effect his personality has on Shinobu's morality,
fails to save Hachikuji
twice
, is the cause of
Nadeko's insanity
, has
Senjou go behind his back to resolve at least one of the oddities
, and then
receives a lecture from Kaiki about how his hero act will only hurt Nadeko further.

I think a work of fiction has to be willing to deconstruct its protagonists. That would be the difference, I would say, between The Second Raid and Gundam AGE. In The Second Raid they tear apart Sagara's character, bit by bit. In AGE Flit Asuno is never once examined, let alone punished. Even when he's
trying to commit nuclear genocide.

From now on my battle cry shall be "ZA FUURU"! Should be interesting to see how Jeanne manages to
masquerade as a man
with her rather imposing...assets.

Haha, I had this same question. This entire
Ranmaru
thing is so wacky.

Buddy Complex 2

A pretty standard episode. There was a little more people-shouting-incomprehensible-military-stuff-back-and-forth than I'd like, but I guess that's fairly appropriate in an episode where the whole point is that the MC is completely lost. And even though the action isn't exactly engaging, there's something about the general feel of this show that definitely appeals.

Meanwhile it looks like
Hina is a member of the enemy forces
, which doesn't surprise me at all. Presumably
the Hina that we met in the first episode was from later on in the timeline, and this Hina will come around to their side eventually.
What we still don't have any real information on is the reasons behind this war, which could certainly have an impact on how things play out from this point forward.

Also, there's a Sugita in this? Can't complain.

Shinobu time is my favorite I think. If you love snail this arc will hit feels :( EP 20 still gets to me :( :(

Also I think I'm experiencing Monogatari withdrawal. I have no idea why I love the show so much.

PuPiPo 3 and 4

Ah, Pupipo can let you see ghosties. Neat!
I agree. It was really dark. And really tragic. It's a good thing though
that I'm sure Po-chan will come quickly to save her from the ghost train. And things will be back to normal. Though I anticipate a little bit of drama, with Himeji feeling guilty for what happened. I haven't read the manga yet, but I hope she doesn't try to distance herself from Reiko out of guilt and worry.

Also, it's really neat that Po-chan can helps others than Himeji see spirits. This is perfect for Reiko's friendship. Since she's always wanted to see spirits. I love Himeji and Reiko's relationship. It's so heartwarming. Reiko finally gets to have a relationships with someone involved in the occult, like she's always wanted. And her dream come true of seeing ghosts and spirits. And Himeji finally gets to have a friend who isn't scared of her connection with spirits. After many years of bullying and isolation.

They make such funny and quirky friends, too. Himeji being reserved, and and Reiko being an outgoing occult otaku. I want to see how their relationship develops.

Is length your only basis for comparison?
Sure!
Unless we're talking about shows that can make Facebook references or whatever it is The Simpsons is about these days.

Actually i read this part in the manga and since it wasn't that important and the focus would had been on the nationnals i kinda wanted them to jump into the heart of the matter.

At this rate we'regoing to have : Nationnals (13 eps ) + 1 or 2 speciials , Nationals final chapters oavs or another season.

They are like ...making me wait !
The manga hasn't even reached the finals, as far as I know, so at best they're going to end when they get to the semi-final match. lol

Yeah, it's interesting how each season has been themed in some way. It almost makes sense that, perhaps, Kizu is a movie and the first Neko arc was a miniseries, since I presume they don't fit in thematically with any of the seasons.

Or, maybe I'm giving them too much credit. lol

Wizard Barristers - 1
The dream of the 90's is alive in Umetsu.
For better or worse.

I thought it was mildly entertaining mainly because of the action scenes, effects, and seeing Wakamoto voice a tiny frog thing. At least it didn't feel as scummy as Umetsu's older work.

Not sure what to really think of this yet, so far it is better then Gallei Donna but that is not saying much. Will give this a few more episodes.

The most circular of faces.
Hamburgers, stuffed animals, godesses and dumb 80s action sakuga in one package.
This is almost too weird for an 80s OVA even. I mean lol.
It was OK though. Some weird editing at times and I had no idea what was going on at points but I had fun watching it if not just for the silliness of it all including the names.
As for what this is about, I shall borrow this synopsis from elsewhere that about sums it up:
OnDeed said:
Love, Heaven's greatest treasure went missing and to get it back, the Great God decides to send his two daughters Lemon and Cherry, as well as their governess Berry to find it. However, their search doesn't go so well, mainly because they decide they like it at planet Earth and prefer to work in a hamburger shop (Sic!).

In the one-episode OVA, the girls end up searching for the Love treasure on an exotic planet, however they find magical living plushies instead, having to fight their way through them to recover "Essence of Life," which an evil organisation wants to use for nefarious purposes.

Incest.

Wizard Barristers 01

Law & Order - Seriousness + Ridiculousness + WIZARDS! = Wizard Barristers

Fun show, nice animation. Probably one of the better openers this season, but that's not saying much since there's been a lot of crap.

Having some great fun with Great Teacher Onizuka, on episode 10 right now.

I thought it would be like the first episode, with Onizuka dealing with a class full of criminals and he winning over being a badass, but it´s a completely different thing.

There is a good balance between coolness, seriousness and completely absurd and funny situations, so is hard to expect what comes next. The way Onizuka deals with the class is really great and some of the funny situations made me loud hard
I'm Kenshiro!
The perverted stuff doesn't bother much anymore, maybe it´s less prevalent of I have get used to it, the weird faces are weird, sometimes they make me laugh, sometimes I'm like WTF. Sometimes it gets a bit too weird and insane, but I have accepted as part of the show.

It´s really enjoyable, loving it, thanks Corvo.

Noragami Episode 2 Snow Like

Well he's here and he was pretty hilarious. Best moment for Yukine was in the preview. Also he sort of at times seems like he could be right out of dmmd.

Content wise much of the episode was a bit slow, dull, and hard to enjoy. Didnt pick up until way late so I was kind of bored much of the time. Looking forward to wherever it goes.

We need an OT for the series. So sad there isn't one on GAF

There isn't one? Wow, I'm surprised, actually.

I think there's a good amount of good writing in the show, if that makes any sense. Not all of it is sterling. Nise is really, really weak, I think. But Monogatari SS does a good job of developing its cast.

Crab > cat > whatever

90s Crab > Cat, sure. Reglur Crab? Meh.

Space Dandy 2

That was actually surprisingly endearing.

I'm glad you like it. GTO is probably one of my favorite anime series ever, haha. I'm always surprised by how you can go from hating some of the characters to really feeling for them over the course of the show.

I think Ragyo is one of the most entertaining characters I've seen between last year and this, but I'm not going to call to pair her with her daughter.

The real question on my mind is what Satsuki's dad must be like. I mean, she seems so overwhelmingly like her mother that what her father is like is something I'd like to know.

Actually, though, I'm still betting my money on the reveal being that Ryuuko and Satsuki are sisters.

I was hoping they'd animated one of the amazing Shogi chapters and buy did they not disappoint. This would by far be the short of the season if it wasn't thanks to the incredibly deep
Pupipo!
airing at the same time!

Yeeeeeep, this seems fun. The action scenes are completely crazy in the best way, the animation is gorgeous throughout, and the whole legal side of things certainly has promise too.

My one big complaint is exactly what I thought it would be - that the whole style of the character designs is just ugly. It's like, dammit Umetsu, how am I supposed to properly enjoy your gratuitous perversions if none of the show's girls are actually cute? That mascot frog thing is also ugly as sin, and I kind of wish it would just disappear, even if it does have the Wakamoto voice going for it. Bleh.

Phi Brain 16-20

Gammon's gone off the deep end. I understand Cubik being depressed, but Ana never went through any sort of depression/intimidation (that worked), so why would Ana be distant to Kaito?

That being said... Dammit Crunchyroll, that next episode image is a spoiler I didn't need.
