Winter 2014 Anime |OT| I've got to find a dandy guy who killed my dad in the space

I dunno, maybe I read that scene wrong in that I saw them both get jealous of the coupling. But maybe Koko was just looking to see how Banri would react.

And, not knowing anything about the novels, maybe the OP is an elaborate troll!

Ghost pottery!

Maybe Banri gets hit by another car or something and the loses his memory again. Then we can have two ghost Banris floating around.

You know, I was just reminded of Natsuyaki Rendezvous. At least the meddling ghost in that story sort of (but not really) made sense.

I didn't see jealousy out of Koko for Mitsuo, but because she knows Banri's history with Linda and she instantly looked at him to see how he would react.

Plus
when Banri thought she was jealous when Mitsuo flirted and asked out what's her face, Banri called her out. We've already seen this scene but it's more in depth in the LN. From what I recall she tells him that she's over Mitsuo and loves Banri, but that she was mad with herself because here he was flirting and she felt like she didn't deserve somebody like Banri until she could make it clear she wasn't interested in Mitsuo anymore, which requires time.

tl;dr she already made it clear she's over him in words.

It'd be pretty amazing if he just stocked up on more and more ghosts through the series.

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 20

In all my time watching sci-fi, the Yamato has to be one of the strudiest ships in all of fiction. It should have been sunk like 100 times by now :p

Domel went out like a trooper but he still deserved better

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 21

Is Ito the first named character of the Yamato crew to die ever?
I don't know why but I find that kind of hilarious. Also pretty "unrealistic" but whatever :p

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 22

Nice setup for the final showdown. The "girl time" dinner scene was pretty funny. On a more serious note, given that the Gamillians seem to revere the Iscandarns who look indistinguishable from pale-skinned humans, their overt racism for non-blue humans (essentially) comes off as even more weird. The whole "the enemy and almost all intelligent life in the known universe are all essentially humans" still bugs me and has been bothering me more and more as the series progresses. I wonder if they'll address it at all in the final episodes.

Kill la Kill 14

This was pretty damn stupid but in a good way aside from a few spots I thought it dragged.

Samurai Flamenco 13

The first episode in a LONG while for this show I'd call legit good. Stil hard to take seriously when your villians include a house with arms and legs though :p

What a terrible grandma. This show is much better when it focuses on tanks and random hijinks rather than personal drama.

What the heck they skipped over the match!
That was a BS episode.

Well, I'll take your word for it.

Honestly, I would prefer a return to status-quo if only because Ghost Banri would have no more reason to exist.

It'd be pretty amazing if he just stocked up on more and more ghosts through the series.
What if Linda gets hit by a car and then Ghost Banri and Ghost Linda can hook up with each other and leave everyone else alone?

I don't know about the novels either ( i can't read everything ).

About the scene . i personnaly read it as banri reacting to linda and koko reacting to banri .It's so very obvious that koko let mitsuo go for good

My theory for later ( repost ):
it'll be revealed that linda is responsible indirectly for the death of the first banri.. the culprit is probably the lover of the wife of linda brother. i'm still fixed on that scene because there is no point to this flashback if it's not revelant later .

What if Ghost Banri gets hit by a ghost truck, therefore making Ghost Banri lose his memories and a Super Ghost Banri appears that torments Ghost Banri for not tormenting real Banri enough.

This all happens before Super Ghost Banri has enough time to notice the Super Ghost Truck about to hit him.

Pretty enjoyable. I was already saying don't make that wish when it happened but kinda pleased it didn't turn out to be a completely horrible outcome.

Characters are fun, production values are nice, gonna enjoy this.

well, this episode wasn't so bad, I enjoyed it. Ruyko's design is pretty cool, too bad it probably won't be around very long. The show looks really poor now, still the new locations looked to have decent designs, in the few seconds we get to see of each city that is :\
I don't care where this story is going anymore, it's really boring now.

Golden time - 14

Girl to girl talk is always best ... you can feel the beginning of a nice friendship.

Oh and that was some unexpected pairing that glanced over everyone sight. If true then linda is still making horrible choices.

Not for Quote above :
There is nothing wrong with that ! can you MAN THE FUCK ON , Tada banri .??
Can you actually voice disinterest for things linda - related ?
Can you MOVE ON ?
But yeah swmsuit talk was the best part no doubt

Linda and Banri suck so much. Koko should find better anime to be in.

Hunter X Hunter (2011) 20

Well, that's a shocking turn of events. It was a good way to end (?) the Hunter Exam, since it's a way to seamlessly transition into what will probably be the next big conflict.
I certainly didn't expect Killua's family to show up like this, if at all.

From the New World 25 END
Wow, what a great finale. This series had its ups and downs, especially in the production values, but it was overall really good, and it'll slot into 3rd place on my AOTY list under Yamato 2199 and Flowers of Evil. It was an ambitious series that told a dark, ambiguous, and mature story that's fairly rare in anime (and TV in general), and it told it really well. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly encourage you to do so soon. It really doesn't have the presence it deserves in the AOTY voting. Go. Do it. Come on. Really.

Imagination has the power to change everything.

I think my biggest issue with this show is that
I'm still butthurt about what they did to Shun. Best character

So this was really good, the visuals were very colourful and appealing and I think the family drama fantasy action thing the show is going for should be very fun.

Hamatora 02

The case wasn't as interesting but the episode was still pretty enjoyable. I guess there is the possibility of some overarching plot so that's a plus.

Getter Robo 31

So at last the Dinosaur Empire has a very, very good reason to be fighting the human race: Humanity's control of the Getter Ray (which is about to become the foundation of human civilization and which has no negative effects on the human body) is lethal to the dinosaurs (who are, in turn, completely immune to radiation). The Demon Emperor Ura has discovered that Uranium combines with Getter Rays to create a type of Getter Ray which is lethal to human beings. Hayato is exposed, but fights to stop the Dinosaurs from contaminating the other Getter Ray storage facilities. Afterward, Prof. Saotome uses Getter Magic to cure him.

But man, the Dinosaur Empire is getting really, really desperate and yet frighteningly close to victory at the same time.

You ever hear the theory that Getter Rays are the same thing as Spiral Energy?

Kino's Journey 11

Love and Bullets.

First two stories centered on two different women who had their fiances shot and killed. One of their killers was trying to redeem himself for what he did and clean up his act. And apparently was doing it. But then the woman shot and killed him, hating him not just for what he did but using her for his redemption. Based on the fact that she was going "wherever doesn't remind me of him", I think her killing him had more to do with the fact that no matter what this guy did, he would remind him of the fiance he had killed. And I guess she felt insulted and even greater hatred that this man was trying to go out of his way to have her forgive him, reminding her of him in the process and tormenting her. Even though the title for this arc was called "Love and Bullets", I can't really say I think she was killing out of the love for her husband and her getting vengeance for him. It was for herself and her trying to finally move on from the pain of losing him.

Next story embraced the dark humor that this show has used several times. Another woman whose fiance was killed was traveling around spreading a message of piece and love. And forgiveness as well, since she had forgiven the man who killed her fiance. She thinks she's lucky that she hasn't encountered any danger. But in reality the man whom she was traveling with was killing all the dangerous people without her ever realizing they were going to strike. Also he had killed the man who killed her fiance since he was after her. He says he loves her and would do anything for her. But when she has made it her life's purpose to spread messages of love and peace, isn't it significantly undermining what she's doing when he's killed as many people for her as he has?

Then there was the "old wise man", a moniker which he hated because he knew how much of a farce it was. He had simply had all of his self-conscious desires removed from him in some seriously fucked up experiment the country he lived in performed on him. When Kino solved that riddle and returned the guy to his old self, he then lamented that his life was a wasted one. A life where he simply ate, slept, and gave away everything he had.

Ending to this episode was fantastic. Hermes quips that she's a lot like the wise man and his housekeeper, in that she has no plan or really idea what she's doing on her journey. But then she remarks, right at the end, that the key difference between her and them is that she's taking this journey out of self-consciousness. She's on this journey because it's what she wants to do; she's doing this for her. And I guess this gets to the root of why she doesn't like to get involved with other people much. Because as much as she's learned from the people she's met and as much as some have made an impression on her, she's not on this journey for their sakes. She's doing it for herself.
Next episode has been mentioned several times and apparently it's really really dark. Arc is called "
Mother's Love
" so...I can see it. Wager it has to do with the story behind
Kino's "Master"
, briefly shown in this episode.

It turns out the Super Peace Busters have to show up and play hide and seek with Ghost Banri so that he'll put on a white dress and fade into the after life.

Jinta then pulls out a boom box and plays Secret Base.

My god, ever since madp mentioned it, I can't help but see all the Hidamari-isms in the show. This is like how every Oonuma show looks like Natsu no Arashi to me. This is how we make every anime look like a Shaft anime!

8egTY5Pl.jpg

That said, this screen is one of the reasons why I find this show just disappointing. There's absolutely no reason why they need to keep it a secret other than it's a conceit of the show. There's no fear of the outside world intruding onto them, or of homophobic parents/friends/peers judging them. They just have to keep it secret just "because".

What's interesting, I guess, is that stakes that some people have put on the show. Over at Dynasty, one of the bigger yuri gathering places, people are suggesting that this will be the show that determines whether or not more yuri anime will get adapted.

Now, I don't know if Sasameki Koto or Aoi Hana bombing had some effect on the industry, but I'm not sure what I can say if the entire genre depends on this particular show in order to flourish. The interesting thing is that with how fickle anime nerd audiences can be - why one four girl anime bombs and another does "well" escapes my understanding - makes me wonder if a generic four girls HidaSketch-like anime where the girls actually kiss each other is enough of a hook for these nerds.

Probably one of the weird things is that while yuri is probably read in equal numbers by men and women, in terms of disc sales, they are probably depending entirely on men. So I don't know if they just need to amp up the perv factor in order to make this work by having the girls kiss in every single episode or what.

I will say, having read the 4koma again, that at least the anime is providing a fairly functional adaptation of material that is rather dry. It's weird that, as someone who wouldn't mind seeing more yuri anime, I would almost like this show more if the girls were just straight/pseudo-yuri and it was just like any other four (or six, I guess) girl anime.

That episode was pretty incredible in all aspects and though it wasnt as focused on any singular country this time Kino is still dealing with some very dark sides of humanity. I like the episodic nature of it all but it still ties things together with a thin thread of references throughout the show to previous encounters. Regarding what you were speculating I can only say that it might not be quite what youre expecting...

MAXIMUM POWEEEEEEEEER GON-KUUUUUUUUUUUUUN

Jesus who knew that I would ever hear a power metal-sounding song in an anime. Hunter x Hunter joins the ranks of surprisingly good ED's that came out of nowhere. He joins other greats such as Samurai X, Psycho-Pass and many others. And by many others, I mean every OP and ED by Gintama.

That's definitely one of my favorite EDs of the series as well. I wasn't the biggest fan in the beginning, but it really grew on me. The intro of the song playing as each episode was ending got me hyped to watch the next one.

In this fun flash forward, we learn Frenchmen are dangerous and soy sauce leads to jealously.

Well if this thing ever ends up being a huge hit I hope someone would at least adapt one serious work like Golondrina or Honey & Honey instead of just more 4koma/comedy yuri manga.

It's probably a treasure trove of third-party knock-offs.

Possibly but theres ways to tell

Amazon themselves or from 3rd party sellers? Have to be aware of bootlegs, just like on eBay. Right Stuf is trying something new with wallscrolls, though the content is quite limited at the moment.

I dunno but Im aware of Rightstufs offerings too. I got ab official Spice and Wolf scroll off amazon so im sure it varies. I dont mind bootleg scrolls as much as other fake mercgandise.

Well, I can't un-know something! Unless I get hit by a car and get amnesia and become haunted by my ghost!

The amnesia thing got me thinking about other shows with amnesia as a lame plot point (namely Hana Yori Dango) and in that one we were rooting for the ex-girlfriend to reclaim her man against the bitch who came into his life after he lost his memories. So, really, its a matter of perspective.

fuck that, Koko all the way

Golondrina would sort of make sense as a noitaminA title, assuming they haven't given up entirely and are still doing shows that would pretty much appeal to a very niche audience. lol

At this point, I'd be happy for a Moringa Milk adaptation. (I think I just heard 7th scream in pain somewhere)

Who's the Koko to Ghost Firehawk?
I guess Ghost Firehawk would hate Koko, so it'd probably be something/someone SAO related. lol
