This may have been covered, but alpha this close to release seems strange? It comes out March 11th right? I have seem betas released with more time to release called glorified demos because it is so close to release.

I think they're doing a real beta in the coming weeks, so instead of calling this "beta 1" they're just calling it an alpha.
Think of it as a small beta and a big beta.
Who the hell knows. They might be just an old version to just test network fuctionality?
If they still haven't reached beta phase then launch is going to be a clusterfuck.
I think they said this was a server load test of sorts. I guess we will find out soon.
I think the primary purpose of this is to test online netcode and matchmaking and not general bug squashing so I don't think it's the same as an actual Alpha. Respawn only ever refers to it as a Technical Test. EA calls it Alpha.

Hmmm weird. Alpha is just a poor term to use this close to release.
I know of some who never got the initial email and managed to get in. Unfortunately I wasn't one of them.

I was wondering the same thing. I want to get it going but can't until 6pm EST. I will be playing all night for sure though.
I think if you xbox is in standby and you entered the code it may work on its own. Not sure.

Who gives a shit if its 720P? I guess all the fun I have been having with Dead Rising 3 and BF4 is fake because because...GASP...they are both 720P

I actually disconnected my Capture Card from my Xbox One before I started playing the game. I would love to upload footage and get that YouTube publicity, but... Not being that guy who breaks the NDA.
Now... To set my TV to 1080p... Had it down to 720p to play Battlefield 4 and Dead Rising 3 without the sharpening filter.
