He had like 6k in there
arsonal gonna sue for that 180k
Eventually all of the videos will be up on YT officially. They're all already up unofficially but will probably be taken down.Didn't watch it, but I got my buddy to rip it for me. Hope they do upload it to youtube. Sounds like Hollow didn't get bodied.
Daylyt and magic are my 2 favourite dudes
I gonna wait til a plug session to watch it
That was the Gatti-Ward of battle rap. Sequel please.
Crosspost
It was incredible. The tension, the way Lux spit some shit and then Hollow topped it, every time. I picked Hollow to win, 2-1... But I didn't in my heart of hearts truly believe that he would win. He had everything. He had personals. He had incredible flow. He had crowd control and heart, and rebutted damn near everything. Everything. Lux came with the schemes and imagery, Hollow had punchlines and a battle plan. The way he broke Lux down was incredible. You could score that 3-0, but I still wouldn't call that a bodybag. It was too good of a performance by both. I've actually never seen a battle where people are landing personals and they hurt, you can see it on their face, but both guys come back firing.

After watching it twice, I'm giving it to Lux. Hollow had bars but he is just corny sometimes
Yea but its a kinda shitty encode, moving at a low framerateCan I watch this anywhere online yet?
My man Hollow did it brehs
He did everything he had to do.
- Broke down Lux being a false prophet
- Broke down his last performance and shit on his legacy
- Rebuttaled Lux' multiple angles (Black Panthers, Lean, self-destructive nature)
- Bars
- Literally and figuratively gave him the work
- Had simpler, yet more effective props
Can't wait for AngryFan, Norbes & JayBlac's commentary on this.
Its a incredible battle and lux had legendary bars but I agree. Its 2-1 Hollow definitively now to me. I realize Lux has those bars that need rap genius examination but theyre still not seeing the breakdowns and personals and energy hollow brought to the table.I don't know how some people are calling that a win for Lux!? Hollow Da Don beat him from EVERY angle you look at it...
Well said... I haven't been this hyped over a battle in a while. It was rather refreshing seeing two heavy weights going at it back and forth like that.
Loaded Lux being in the thread title is a huge reason why this thread succeeded IMO, (that's why I put it there) and the Battle Rap OT didn't.. there's <10 people who are into battle rap on GAF it seems and I don't think any of them post as frequently as either of us.How do yall feel about making this the official battle rap thread? We can get enzo to change the OT content and mods to change title.

Not necessarily trying to downplay Lux' bars there, he was still very clearly on some other lyrically, just caught the opiate flips and stuff on a second listen, it's just I feel his content fell completely flat. Its a incredible battle and lux had legendary bars but I agree. 3-0 Hollow but it's not a bodybag by any means. I wouldn't say it's close because of the content. Second and third are closer though IMO. Hollow destroyed him on all of the levels except lyrical technicality, maybe punchlines too. In the third round Hollow had some particularly weak lines that he could have cut out entirely and he ended it sort of weak (this has always been a problem for Hollow which results in more debatable rounds than there should be).
Lux sort of lost the battle before he got there, I don't think analyzing the bars will change that. Hollow's content make ALL of Lux' irrelevant. Let's take his three biggest angles: drugs, the revolution and the delinquency.
- Drugs; Hollow cooked him for associating with people that do lean for features, needing $40k to cop a brick (further rubbed it in when he mentioned him not filing taxes and BMF being able to put up for their people when he couldn't for his own son). You also just can't say this to a funny ninja like Hollow, people have taken this angle against Hollow before and got nowhere. Mix that Hollow not looking like a crackhead, and Lux just looks like an old man yelling at a cloud.
- Delinquency; Hollow is not proud of his past and he doesn't actively promote it. Full stop. This also overlaps too much with the Calicoe battle's angle so it also packed less punch/relevancy. Easy to develop a large picture when you focused on the negatives. Pringles, stack chips in the can.
- Revolution; Lux' biggest angle that people were already not tryna hear. Everyone has seen through Lux' shit. Between Beasley of URL exposing Lux not coming with a plan when he said he had one, wanting money off of the top without putting anything in (read: greed), holding up other people's bread for his own greed (Hollow's), and fighting for bigger cheques for battle rappers when they can't sustain that sort of output over and over... it's well documented what Lux was really in it for. Lux wouldn't negotiate, spat in the face of man and organization that gave him a platform to be where he's at, and rubbed it into people's faces when we figured out it was PPV only, never hitting YT and the prices were so high. Hollow exposed all that, then exposed him for shorchanging multiple others (Sub 0, Tech 9, Kid Capri, Conceited, etc.). Then he transitioned this into him not having his prioritiesstraight with respect to his son and Lux' entire gimmick was done for.n***a
When you have Arsonal and Ray Swag in the back nodding to Hollow's line about him doing Smack wrong.. it's a wrap.

That said.. the best part about this? Hollow isn't waiting for no $40k again, even though he can damn near do what Lux did. He said he'll take pay cuts as long as he gets to battle more often. And this year we will probably get Dizaster vs. Hollow as the battle of the Grind Time champs on KOTD, and Clips vs. Hollow on URL as the battle of the most well rounded battle rappers. Hollow be thy name.
Well, his rebuttals sort of overlap with his content I feel. The rebuttal is the attack. The content is the same between writtens and freestyles. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Hollow wrote that shit ahead of time because he knew already what Lux was going to talk about, that's what allowed him to use the false prophet angle.I still feel that Hollow's bars was more geared towards a rebuttal moreso than an actual attack. I don't feel his verses would have the same impact had he gone first. I truly believe the battle would have been drastically different had he lost that coin toss.
I agree with everything enzo_gt said. Hollow had all the bases covered last night. He knew exactly what lux was gonna talk about, how he was gonna say it and knew exactly how to ridicule him. However, his execution was all over the place. To me it felt like Lux was rapping directly at Hollow and Hollow was talking to us.
Again, this argument falters when Hollow broke down shit he said vs. Calicoe that made no sense. German guard dogs, Vicodin, etc. He broke the blind wall of trust with Lux, or at least went at it. Clear examples of when it doesn't make sense.. it doesn't make sense. It's not hard to cover bases with Lux because that his stick. He's been on that ish for a minute now, why change? Just because Hollow attack his Black Panther persona, Muslim mannerisms, and Uplift the black man movement doesn't make his rhymes any less potent. Especially, when he quotes Jay "Just because you don't understand him, doesn't mean that he's nice" Actually it does. It proves that you're not mentally equipped to understand the fine art of double entendre and lyrical nuances.
A wise man once said to me, don't worry about it. Every now and again everybody looks up. It took a while to get what he was saying, but it applies here.
Finally watched Hollow Vs. Lux. I got Hollow winning. Let's just say I had a "i just shitted face" when listening to his rounds.
I just rewatched it twice and I still got lux winning it. My question is for those who got hollow as the winner what's the score and which rounds do you think hollow won?
