Where is that Duke Nukem 3d Megaton Edition for PS3/Vita?

I recall the thing being tweeted that it was almost completed on the vita back in December. We are now in February and still no news. I got money right here waiting for the king to come to portable consoles and my PS3 and PS4 when I get home. Can someone SHOW ME THE MONEY?

Those of you who have never played Duke 3D need to play this.

Superb level design and memorable weapons.

Gameplay, music, and humor are OK. But the weapons and levels are where it is at. Sound design too.

Hey that describes me. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm anxious to hear more about this, too.

I'm hoping for a $14.99 price tag, maybe $12 or $10 with PS+.

It should be $10 like the Steam version.

Duke 3D has aged but it's still a fantastic game, and one that people should definitely try out, a lot more challenging than today's games.

Yeah I've been following the dude "Ralph eggas" since I heard about it.
He said it evolved.. Which is nebulous.

Oh man, totally forgot about this one. Glad to hear it hasn't been silently canned.
I'm surprised you of all people didn't have more faith ;p

But yeah, I'm glad they're at least talking about it regularly. There's too many nebulous PSN announcements that keep happening with virtually no further word from the developers regarding the various projects. *glares at minecraft*

Can't wait for this... glad to hear it's still happening. I was kind of worried that it had been cancelled following the legal troubles between Gearbox and 3D Realms.

Sexy. I feel like Duke Nukem 3D would be difficult to play on a controller though (let alone the Vita). How is it on 360?

Oh yeah! Let's hope the price will be comparable (hopefully lower) than that for which you can buy the steam copy. Any word on crossbuy?

It's really hard to play the PC version with a controller.

Ha! Played through Duke couple of times with this:

I know, I tried once with the DualShock 4 and kept on goofing up. Normally I don't have problems with FPS's on console, but Duke 3D has the speed of DOOM mixed with jumping around more vertical environments and aiming on both axes. It's tricky.

Finally an old FPS is coming to Vita!

Why isn't DOOM available on Vita, that's my question. playing through a few levels on the shitter would be bliss.

I actually emailed Zenimax around DOOMs 20th anniversary suggesting spending $2k porting Final Ultimate DOOM to vita, with every level from 1+2+F/U would be a better financial investment that $200 million on TES:O. I didn't get a response.

Honestly its even on iOS, how much work would it be to port to vita? Stupid publishers. I and I'm sure many others would pay £7.99/$9.99 for a complete edition, happily.

Oh most definitely. I'd plunk down the cash immediately

Oh man, this would be an instant contender for my top Vita FPS when it's released.

Some of these games are just classics that never get outdated.

...it was made when the primary input for an FPS was a keyboard. Move with the arrow keys, shoot with Ctrl, strafe with Alt, interact with space, run with shift.

Is this the same game as the one on n64? I didnt like it but that may have alot to do with only having one stick and having no idea what the objective was.

Lol. Do you expected them to answer when you threw such a comment.

Not saying you aren't right but still, truth hurts xD

The N64 version has some rudimentary 3D models and a lot of altered stuff, but it's mostly the same idea. The objective is simply to get to the end of the level, killing enemies, finding key cards, and blowing things up.

From what I remember it was playable with keyboard only as mouses weren't that popular back then.

Very true. I remember that worked fine with DOOM, but anything else after that (Quake, Duke 3D) had me using the page up/down for looking. The concept of using a mouse for vertical look escaped me.

I wasn't expecting an answer about a port of a 20 year old game collection to a commercially unviable system anyway, just threw that in as I was in a pretty bad mood that day ;).

I just kept wandering around, i only really remember a movie theater and thats about it haha, i would give it another try on vita. I was much younger when i played duke so now i probaly wont give up on it so easily.

Duke 3D is an old FPS originally played on a keyboard only, so you only aim left and right. The game automatically aims up and down for you. Doom has the same thing - I got Doom 3 BFG Edition on PS3 and a controller works fine on Doom 1&2.

They've definitely got mouse/free aiming in the megaton edition though.

Bumping this because, well, I'm wondering what the op was wondering.

Looks like it was submitted for cert last week.

Story
Yeeeeesssss, finally. Now just give me Wolfenstein 3D and Doom on Vita, Devolver, and you'll be on your way to the top of my "favorite publishers" list.

Another bump. If this game has been sent in for certification in may, what is the hold up? It's now July. Wouldn't Sony want to push out more vita games? Just bought steamworld dig, and TxK for the vita and I would love to have that Duke on there. Hell, I'd also pay ten dollars for a Doom anthology of Doom, Doom 2 and Final Doom. I'd also pay to play Hexen, Heretic, Wolfenstein 3d, Shadow Warrior, Blood and all the other style games of that era. One thing at a time though....

I was just looking into this a couple days ago too and couldn't find anything. I'm really curious about what the hold up is.

Those ecchi vita games have priority. They sell really well. I know. I bought them. Own Demon's Gaze, thinking of Monster Monpiece, and Akiba Strip is getting le gran treatment.

Unless you're Bethesda or EA and can pay to skip certification, you're probably stuck in that for a while if your games have a bunch of bugs.

Devolver Digital is publishing this I believe.

I tweeted at them not too long ago and didn't receive a response, sad, cause I really want this on my Vita.

I'm really looking forward to this... my first experience with Doom was the PS1 versions, and the only Duke Nukem games I played were those TPS games from that era.

Itching for an old school FPS. I would love to get more great older FPS games on Vita. Classics and essentials.
