Just wait, the USTA will pack all the matches into 4 days so they wont lose out on potential revenue by having to schedule matches for Monday.

They'll try their hardest to finish by Sunday to maximise the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

That makes no sense. There are only a limited number of channels that show the US Open. Every game that WOULD have been on tv but isn't now is lost $$$.

....wish people would stop making shit up.

Im not making shit up. A final on a Sunday will always attract more viewers than a final on a weekday. The highest viewing figure will always be for the final anyway.More viewers means more ad revenue. Im not saying that the final will held this Sunday, I think too much time has been lost for that.

I still think they'll do their hardest to get most on the matches finished by Monday.

Doesn't even close to make up for the fact that they will be going over the top of normal Sunday programming which means a loss for the networks. I am sure there is some sort of clause that passes the programming losses on to the USTA.

The scheduling was set up to maximize TV $$$ and did not allow for leeway or off days, and then they reschedule matches so that the men have to do 5 setters 4 days in a row because they're reluctant to extend the tourney a day. Then they force the players to play in unsafe conditions because of their ridiculous scheduling demands.

The players have the right to be pissed. It's too easy to blame the weather but the USTA deserves a lot of criticism here.

Which is why they'll want to get it done by Sunday. I'd imagine that it will become even more expensive for them if TV schedules had to be changed on Monday.

It's too late for a Sunday finish now though I think. Too much time has been lost over the 2 days.

what a pathetic tournament. Rafa was right when he said that all they care about is money.

For God's sake, the first round in split into three days. The first freaking round!!! And then they have this stupid super saturday (which hasn't been exciting since 1984). I can't really complain too much about SS since Federer is pretty much the master.

Jesus, I'm watching the Tsonga/Fish match for the fourth time this week. Someone kill me now

Just got back in from New York. Had tickets to today's day match. Thank goodness it was actually cancelled so I can get a refund. But was there at the stadium until 5 PM to leave to catch a flight.

Caught all 3 incredible games for Nadal/Fuller, lol. It wasn't even bad rain, just a light misting most of the time.

I thought they didn't give out refunds, but an exchange ticket for the same session next year?

Bought it through Ticketmaster, they do refunds for cancelled if can't reschedule.

We've just learned that due to being forced to play 3 matches in one day, Novak Djokovic has died. That means Roger Federer is your 2011 US Open Ch...no, wait, Roger Federer has died.

there was a brief moment of sun this morning, and the skies look clearer than they did yesterday. it looks likely they'll be able to get matches on at 11 this morning.

For some reason I've missed out on the open. Who's playing the best, Djokovic I assume?

overall yeah probably, federer goes from very strong to WTF? in matter of matches. nadal struggles his way trough every round and murray had a 5 setter against a nobody.

::

let's see if müller can close out a set against rafa. he would be the first one.

Proof once again that the US open is the worst open. Water coming up through the court? Shambolic. Complete lack of Cliff Richard.

Geez, Muller. Not even going to force the tiebreak?
The atmosphere is horrible. This round can't end soon enough, and hope it doesn't rain again.

You knew he wasn't going to beat Murray.

He has before.

But yeah, he is nowhere near the focus he displayed against Wawrinka. Expected a much more exciting match than this. Totally disappointing.

wow. Roddick just ripped into the court umpire over the condition of the court, but it seems like Ferrer wasn't complaining.
