Man if those pokemons are real,I expect a new wave of rose tinted glasses pokefans to hit the web :lol
Personaly I don't think they're that bad.
They are better than Gen 3 IMO.
What's this?

A reasonable person in the Pokemon community?!? Can't be...

I hate Pokabu's evo line. Maybe because I wanted a more quadruped line. You know like Cyndaquil (up until Typhlosion). At least they got the mythical thing down like I wanted.

Wotter's okay. Yeah his last evo's so strange compared to his other forms. Smugleaf's las evo would be fine by me if it retained its green color.

I was so happy when they first said these were fake because while I could settle for what they are they could have been so much better.

Wasn't there a gaffer with an avatar that looked JUST like the second Mijumaru evo?
Yeah which was based on a leaked image. No one's debating the second form of Mijumaru.

I don't see anything wrong with them, and I can't see how the fire starter is going to fighting again this time. I'm definitely getting the water starter this time regardless if that's his evolution or not, since my other choice would have been the pig, but then Reshiram is also fire type.
That's right bitches, I'm getting Black Version.

So Reshiram is basically the better legendary due to its lack of weakness to ice, right? Or is Zekrom better for being resistant to more types?

That was leaked months ago. The new ones here are the pig's second stage and all three's third stages.

Alright cool. I've always been slightly out of the loop as far as leaks go.

Something about the color of wotter's second form (fuckin' japanese shit can't remember it) always seemed REALLY off.

Maybe it's because the colour scheme is completely different from the prevos

Gravijah said:
Something is really off with the second wotter... can't put my finger on it...
it has too much black another thing is that his colors don't seem that uniform. His color scheme is black, dark blue, blue, yellow and a bit of orange.

The blue on the third form seems to be the same color as the blue of the second forms skirt thing. The lighting is also kinda poor in those shots, so somethings would look different in a better light. If you ask me, they really don't seem that far off.

I agree, Wotter's second form looks off, wasn't the spreadsheet depicting it as having a bright head? The blue used here is too dark, it would've been gray on the sheet if so.

This whole situation stinks of nonsense. These aren't even good fakes, his sources would've contacted him quick as hell instead of going for quite some time with unconfirmed things on his site.

Fake, as we'll find out in 12 days.

It's not just Serebii, though, there are others with inside sources claiming that these are in fact legit.

I'd love to believe that they're fake, but it's not looking likely at all.

True dat. The gen 3 starters' final evos are uniformly hideous.

what is this i don't even

I cant say i trust them because i remember when the anime spread sheet first leaked a lot of people serebii included thought that it was fake it was not until we got the toy leak with kibago that the sites started to believe in the spreadsheet.Heck i saw the spreadsheet i thought it was real but some thing just fishy about this one fakers have gotten better over the years.

So it's looking like those starters are real. The water and grass ones look good I think, but god damn does the fire one look horrible.

I was expecting something more along the lines of

Whatever happened to Wotter being a snowman? :(

Exactly.

The spread sheet also depicted Team Rocket's clothes as white, though.

But neither were Team Rocket, and recently they've shown they wear dark gray. And it's not like evolutions always keep the same color throughout. Look at the Charmander family

Wotter's final evo just seems too off, even taking into consideration the kind of changes all previous starters went through with their third forms. There's too many things changing between the second and third form. I'm still not convinced these are real.

Hopefully they're as fake as this guy was (not that I wanted this guy to be fake, but ya know...)
<-----

Not that I care what kind of "record" my screen name has, but I figure I should say that while I thought these starter evos were overdone fakes at first, now that it appears they're real and I've had time to study them, they're quickly becoming some of my favorite starter evos in a Pokemon game. :)

It's neat how the two Pokemon that start on two legs go to four legs or none, and the one that starts on four legs goes to two. It makes sense that Smugleaf would lose legs in evolving, as he is a snake and snakes evolved the same way.

Similarly, remove the conch shell from Wotter's evo's head and you'll see a form factor quite like the giant otter, another evolution that makes sense since Wotter's feet become larger and, uh, more flipper-y with evolution, meaning his final can no longer walk erect and is now more adept for quadrapedal movement/swimming.

My favorite of the lot is probably Pokabu. I like how the black markings on his first form resemble a bandana, and this "martial arts" theme graduates to full-blown wrestling in his second and third forms. He may very well be yet another Fire/Fighting-type, but that's fine... I also like how the second form has a tail resembling a lit fuse and the final form has a tail resembling a blown fuse. Plus, the Herculean glyphs on the "championship belt," along with the lines on the wrists and knees, add just the right amount of "spice" to the design. :)

I think the best part about these evos is that in the grander scheme of Pokemon, they add some hitherto unseen visual variety. For example, Smugleaf's evo's limb-to-limbless nature is something new, so there's a better chance of everybody finding something for themselves.

The only problem is, now I'm getting attached to these evos, and I'm afraid they may turn out fake. :-\

Am I the only one that thinks the last few generations of Pokemon look to "busy?" That Charizard and Garchomp pic kind of sums it up nicely.

Did they change artists or something?

I thought Sugimori was in charge of the Pokemon designs for Gen 1 and 2, but not for 3 and 4? Or, at least his position changed.

The earlier ones were all drawn by one person, now it's a team of designers and that person is more of a supervisor

So, when are we going to learn the English names of most of these guys? I'm kinda sick of trying to figure out which ones which when people call them by there Japanese names or fan names.

I'm on the "95% chance these are fake" side. I really don't trust Serebii and his "source" is the driving push behind this at this point.

For Smugleaf it's strange that his limbs become more defined/ detailed in his mid stage only to become a full on snake in the final form. For the Otter . . . that looks like a hot mess. But on top of that he goes from 2 legs to 2 legs to 4 legs which doesn't make sense. And for the Pig it looks like one of his nail finger things have been colored gold for no reason.

Thats just a passing glance.

Well that was a pointless Pokémon Sunday. OH look at me I'm Japanese and use legendaries! Just kidding, they are little kids. All the little kids use those.

It isn't that hard to figure out. I can't pronounce like the cell Pokemon or the goth girl looking ones names though.

But I know I want Mijumaru(water starter), Shimama (electric zebra), Zoroark (movie 13 star), Wooguru [Wargle] (eagle that looks American OH YES I SAID IT), and possibly Victini (that fairy looking thing equivalent of Mew/Celebi/Jirachi/Manaphy)

EDIT: Oops I thought I clicked edit on my last post, oh well.

I want the Larvitar look-alike and the cell thing. The crocodile looks pretty cool too.
I can't wait to not catch the Heart Bat thing.

To be fair, though, Serebii had just about all of the information about DPPt prior to their respective releases, and he was also a big part of the SSBB roster leak that happened. He's got sources, and for him to feel comfortable posting those starters on his website, I think it's safe to say that those designs are the final products--or close to them. (Granted, there will naturally be some differences, as those are cels from the anime, not official Sugimori art.)
