The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the gift that keeps on giving. We cover some of the most fun you can have in the game in 2020, including the Bomb Impact Launch, Bullet-Time Bounce, Cryonis launches, retaining elemental power on weapons, Moon Jumping, wall clipping, whistle sprinting, durability transfers, weapon duping, the hidden XP system and what the Shield Guard stat means.

Imagine considering IGN's video listicles relevant. 😂

If I could go back to any game from scratch and get the same joy out of it as I initially did, it would be BOTW.

It was the first Zelda game I'd ever played and on a brand new console that dragged me back into console gaming after almost 20 years of pc gaming. That I was playing this masterpiece in my hands just added to the sense of awe.

I absolutely adore it, ask me my all time favourite game and today I'll say Doom but tomorrow I'll say BOTW, etc...

because fanboys?

the same kind that try to trace some kind of timeline to the perpetual reimagining that this series is about?

the ones who became so attached to a silent and void in-game avatar with zero character development because only supposed to represent/bind players in the game and thus aptly named Link?

and let's not forget: because not much else worthwhile to play on a Nintendo console

don't ban me for these hard truths...

I think this game/the series is like Inception.

I think it's in part about the directors/game design.

BOTW lays it on even thicker cuz the shrines are anagrams of the devs' names.

I'm 150 hours in and still need to beat the volcano boss, Ganon and do then do the dlc.
I got side tracked by exploring, doing all the side quests and farming the dragons.

I played it and i liked it, but to me personally it is one of the most overhyped and overpraised games ever.

Weapon durability just made the game a mission to play.

Dungeons were very simplistic and repetitive.

Loved almost every aspect of the game.... with the one huge exception of combat, which is completely and utterly braindead and has very little challenge outside of the few boss fights. I forced myself to play with a maximum of 3 hearts just to have SOME challenge.

For some reason the recommended tweets that show up under your tweets are a weird mixture of video games and spanked, rosy, ass cheeks.
lmao wtf I see it too. The fuck is wrong with people these days

Hey, don't be judgemental. As long as it's consensual, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Game is great, i'm glad it did well sales wise.
It was kind of a bold departure from the stagnant formula that most zelda games followed after link to the past/ocarina.

This has nothing to do with the heart. Click the woman's profile and you'll see its just a controlling woman who wants to inflict pain. But let's not derail this thread any further.

One major fault in BoTw: shrines are boring.

Like they offer zero challenge, 99% are just "walk in, see what to do in nanosecond, do the task" and it gets boring after a while

Second is low quality graphics that cant be fully hidden by art style

Still solid 8/10, a good game.

But people whom say it is 10/10 are fools as they claim that it is almost perfect.

Which it isnt technically + as a game

No idea what you're seeing or how I'm influencing such results lol.

PM me? I'm curious as hell now.

So now every time I link vids from Twitter it's suggesting some kind of torture porn LOL???

Yep, it's still a compelling game, way ahead of the curve. Other open world games will begin catching up once devs realize people want emergent systems and not just a huge checklist of sidequests.

I'll replay it next year while waiting for BotW2. Gonna try to focus less on completing missions. I wanna get better at exploiting the Runes in everyday situations. I played a lot of melee combat last play-through so I think I'll go more ranged / hit 'n run / sneaky this time. I'll also do the four beasts in opposite order (zora last and gerudo first this time).

It's a good fun game, but in no way is it or Horizon ZD should be in the talks of the game of the generation, they bring nothing new or revolutionary to the table and as for exploration....i found both Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyessy FAR more enjoyable to explore because you could find some awesome loot that didn't break 20 hits later.

Seriously the weapon fragility system is by far the worst mistake Nintendo ever made in this game besides the worst story in Zelda history (which is saying something cause LOZ aren't by any means riveting in the story department).

I have 300 hours. It didn’t go to the top of Mt Lanyu at the beginning because I though I’d have to fight the dragon. I saw it and left.

finally went there and found out you can get parts from them. I knew you could because I’d fear upgrades but finally saw that tutorial segment.

this game is crazy in its flexibility and systems working together.

I just booted it up the other day after a long break. Figured I’d go kill a the baddies in the colloseium. That damn Lynel took about three fairies and a few meals from me.

diaagree. You just have a different limit than mana or stamina.

after exploring and sneaking around and getting a fewinventory upgrades(bows then weapons). I had way too many than I could use. I used my shitty weapons first and eventually you can farm ogres and labels and have all savage weapons.

plus with master mode the mods make a huge difference. +attack and durability drops were awesome early and mid game.

With ray-tracing a remaster on Nintendos next consoles could be incredible..

I don't really see the point of RT in BOTW. At least not on this video. It seeminlgy just adds some kind of an ambient occlusion which clashed with the original look and doesn't add anything to it.

Eh, try playing more open world games to see the pros and cons in BOTW, the inventory and stamina system was simply padding and were unnecessary, this game is no RPG and it didn't need health or stamina upgrades since it's clashes with the fundamental design philosophy of picking any direction and going in that since it's no different than ACO's this area's enemies levels are higher than yours, you could go there and kill them but it's best to go some where else and level up, BOTW feels like it wants to go into new design horizons (for Nintendo at least) but some crutches of the past were left either by fear of changing too much or something else.

That's allowed! Personally I think it looks tidy as fuck.

It’s still a great game, because it released 3 years ago. What a dumb article.

But to give IGN some rope, I believe it will still be great in 20 years.

It was a great game for quarantine. When I played the original campaign when it came out, I thought it was just ok, but I liked playing the DLC in quarantine a lot more for reasons I wondered about for a while. I think it was frustrating because I was trying to get the story out of it when it was so sparse, but it's more fun when you have no specific goal, you wander and find new things that you missed, plus having the faster recharge and all guardians powers honestly made it more fun for me as climbing was just the most tedious annoying thing early in the game.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Game was a disappointment for me. They tried new things but those new things didn't land for me. Particularly weapon durability being so awful and lack of dungeons.

Agreed, its the wrong art style in my opinion, particularly for those shadows. Its like it cranked the clarity slider right up.

One of the best games ever. The exploration is so much fun. Though I think Xenoblade Chronicles X is just slightly better.

lol I love how everytime there is a BotW thread the haters have to come in and tell us why it's the worst Zelda EVER! You cunts need to get a life.
