Does anyone know how pre-installed games work on 3DS bundles in regards of doing a system transfer?
Will I still have the digital copy of SM3DL after I do a transfer?

I have a physical copy already, but it would be nice to have it digitally. I may not even do the transfer since I might use this one as my secondary homebrew 3DS (assuming its firmware is compatible).

It's the same as any digital title. It is attached to your system and will go along with a transfer.

When I was buying my New 3DS XL about 6 months ago I received a TN panel first and it was pretty bad...I returned it and scored an IPS panel on the one I got in return. It's a fairly noticeable difference. It's a shame you won't know what you get until you open it.

If you're planning on trading in your system to afford the new one, you can contact Nintendo to have them manually transfer your NNID (and thus your games) from the old system to the new one. Otherwise, you can just do the regular system transfer in the system settings.

They can transfer your games, but I'm pretty sure that if you do it that way then you won't be able to transfer your save files.

Hoping this will be easy to procure from Target. While GCU doesn't work with new consoles, Target Red Card's 5% does. They have it listed as a doorbuster, but hopefully there will be a good amount available. I already purchased Faceplate 55 (the sick Zelda faceplate) and a case in anticipation.

They can transfer your games, but I'm pretty sure that if you do it that way then you won't be able to transfer your save files.

Unless you download the contents of the SD card to a computer first. I'm not sure if GameStop requires the SD card for trade - in.

We still don't really know, unfortunately, from what I've seen. The PR says "starting November 25th" but it's unclear how much stock is being produced for Black Friday and beyond and no other N3DS models are confirmed to be available at such a low price.

I'm guessing it's just a special edition thing, the Animal Crossing, Pokemon 20th anniversary, and Super Mario 3D Land bundles were just limited time offers so this is likely much the same. NOA typically doesn't promote the New 3DS regular as a primary console preferring the XL. This is likely just a special Black Friday deal, along with the $250 bundles for the PS4 Slim and Xbox One S

To make matters worse the serial number on the back is unvisible because I had it in my pocket a lot.

I would just trade it in, Gamestop will still take broken consoles for refurbishing.

As for your data, most game saves are saved to the SD card, and you can contact Nintendo to transfer over your NNID.

Create a NNID if you don't have one and link it to your 3DS, then perform a system format (which should unlink your NNID). Both these steps can be done from 3DS settings. When you get tbe new 3DS you link your NNID to it and you should be able to redownload your eshop stuff.

There will be a step during the format to transfer your SD card data (via PC).

You should also use the save data backup utility I think before the format.

I think that's the jest of it. Nintendo has official steps for this on their site and there are old GAF threads about it, better check those out too for any details I may have missed. Just Google 3DS unlink NNID and format.
