How do lightning deals work? Is that good or bad?
Lightning deals are just a set time a deal will go live, with either a set time to run, or until they sell out. This whole thing seems very confusing though, as it's hard to work out if this is a Nintendo new product line that is just starting tomorrow, or a BF deal, or a limited shipment stock. Nintendo never do anything easy.
Also, my backup plan is to grab a 2DS from Toys R Us if it stays in stock. I heard there was some lag in Sun/Moon, but I'm going to play using my 3DS XL so it'll have lag regardless.

the dude just uses a stock photo. it's probable that he doesn't even have one and is just planning on buying one tonight/tomorrow like the rest of us and having it shipped to the winner. and if he can't get one, he'll cancel the sale.

I don't have my hopes up for that. With the Switch coming so soon, I'm not expecting many more models of 3DS to be released after this.

I'll guess or theorize that all these $99 New 3DS are TN based on price alone. That's why they are this price in the first place. To possibly get rid of sub standard parts they need to get rid or a deal they were able to negotiate with the supplier of parts.

I'm going to be a bit more optimistic about the whole us being screwed thing. I don't think any of my friends have even heard of this going up for sale. Outside of some gaming news sites, I don't think this is getting much advertising compared to some other deals. Then again, those other items probably have more than 10 pieces in stock.

I think target opened at 7 and best buy at 9... well if they're all opening at 5, I don't see a point. I'm not rushing through my family meal to have a chance at buying shit for a meager discount that probably isn't worth while.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but if you are planning to trade-in your old 3DS for this deal, Amazon gives you credit instantly and also gives you a week to ship the device, so you'll be able to do a system transfer before fulfilling the trade-in.
