The 2DS was in stock earlier tonight at Toys R Us but sold out hours ago.

I have complained about the lack of black n3ds in the US since launch. It is the best form factor of the hardware for me, and this is probably the only chance to get a black model here in the US.

Wanted a black N3DS since it was revealed in Japan. I've had my OG 3DS since 2011, and its age is starting to show. D-Pad likes to act up every now and then, and I also want something that can run Pokemon S/M better. I have a loooot of games to get to and older games I know I'll want to play again, and I won't be able to do that with the way the d-pad has been.
A tip for those unlucky folks that missed the Amazon pre-order: I see folks mentioning Best Buy and Target, but don't forget GameStop. They will definitely have it on their Web site as well, possibly at midnight EST as I have not seen them specify a time elsewhere.
I wanted the New model, non-XL, since it was announced. Then, it wasn't released in North America. Then, the special edition limited bundles happened, but I wasn't willing to pay almost $200 for one. Now, this $100 deal happened and I finally got what I wanted at a good price.
My current 3DS XL is beat up like you wouldn't believe, from all of the pocket-carrying I've done. Part of the reason I wanted this model is because the faceplates are switchable, so I can beat them up and then just swap.

Sorry I'm behind here, but I just randomly saw a tweet about the New 3DS sale being up on Amazon, saw the white was sold out, and just quickly grabbed the black while I could. Did I get super lucky? I had no idea they were going up tonight on Amazon, I was debating standing in Gamestop's line at 5 AM Friday. Did Amazon get a lot or did they all sell out already?

_/¯. But when I went back to try a new trade in of it and selected it did not include the game, it said it would reject the trade in. I didn't want to waste time and money shipping it just to have it sent back. I'll just sell it on GAF.

Ugh I hope I don't regret this but I cancelled my order. I tried out the New 3DS tonight at a store and thought it might be too small for me, plus this doesn't seem as limited as I thought.
However if it does appear to be pretty limited at other stores, I may get it on Friday at Meijer

I guess a couple hours ago now. I was working on some stuff for work and took and break for a minute and just happened to catch it. Just finished my work now so I'm checking in.
I kind of figured I did, but I also wouldn't have been surprised if there were far more black than white produced, since black always seems much more popular, so I didn't take the white selling out to mean too much. Especially since it was the default color a lot of people went with just to make sure they got one.
I don't know, I felt like I was pretty slow reacting and getting one, so I figured a ton more people were sitting there refreshing and got one before me. Made me think Amazon just had a large supply, but I see a lot of people disappointed now, so I guess not.

Thanks for the heads-up on Meijer, that'll be my backup if I can't snag one online tonight/tomorrow. Shouldn't be too bad there, hopefully.
Or the smaller form factor and the black that has never been released in the U.S., coinciding with Pokemon Sun and Moon's release, coinciding with an $80 discount.
