I'm trying to understand the appeal of this over the New 3DS XL. Is it that it's more portable? Honestly, I prefer a larger screen size.
Pokemon runs GOOD almost all the time, you can play Xenoblade Chronicles and SNES games. I was a former 3DS XL user so the ergonomy is a massive improve (the shift from a OG 3DS would blow my mind lol)

Size of the original 3DS/ DSLite with a 4" screen.
Lighter, more portable, smaller. I have a Majora's Mask NN3DS XL and really do not use it because of the size, even with the Monster Hunter X Grip.

Best model for cheap. The Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer white New 3DS bundle was $220, so a new color, a much lower price and no bundled game people don't care about is attractive.

GBA is only for 3DS Ambassador units.
The only Kirby GBA game on 3DS is Kirby & The Amazing Mirror.

The PPI on XL screens is terrible. At a resolution of 400x240, 3DS games weren't meant to be played on such large screens, but the original screen was a bit small. The regular New 3DS hits the right balance.

If you can find a copy a good price get Kirby Super Star Ultra, it's a DS remake of the original.

Same, the line was ridiculous. I was trying to buy one for myself and a coworker going through some tough times.

Those of us who bought a 3DS in 2011 before the initial price drop got 20 games as compensation.
The 10 GBA games are only for those with ambassador units and Nintendo promised to never release GBA VC on 3DS besides the ambassador units.

I can't stand the size of the XL, it feels too big in my hands, and the ppi on the larger screens bugs me (I've got a regular XL and never came to like it).
And there's also the easier-to-carry-around thing.

When Nintendo dropped the price from $250 to $170 (worse in Japan, 25,000 yen down to 15,000 yen) just a few months after launch, they created an Ambassador Program for those who had bought it before the price drop where they would get 10 NES games before they were made available on the eShop and 10 GBA games that would remain exclusive.
The 3DS is not powerful enough for GBA emulation, so GBA games are run through the 3DS' DS mode's GBA mode. The games have none of the Virtual Console features and they close if you close the 3DS instead of just pausing, so they were never sold on the eShop.

My local Toys R Us has around 200 new 3DS's, half black and half white. Every single person who wanted a new 3DS got one. Some even bought two to knock down the huge pile a bit. I did my part and got a second 3DS (White) to compliment my large Red 3DS XL (not new)

It seems that at least in my neck of the woods, Toys R Us had a ton for new $99 3DS's. I bet that big pile probably won't even be gone until later tonight.
Well that was weird. Despite being scared away by the massive line at target earlier, I decided to give them a call just now to see if they had any left. Turns out they still had a decent stash of them, so headed there to find around 15 left.
I'd say it's worth calling your stores even now.

Went to target for one of these and ended up staying in line in the electronics for like 30 minutes since they didn't have any out. Employee came back and said they didn't have any but gave me 50% off a new 3ds XL to compensate. He probably wasn't supposed to do that but I'm happy lol
