$99 New 3DS Black Friday Deal

I don't see the switch replacing the 3DS. I don't think the 3DS is going anywhere for at least a few more years.

The whole point of the switch is to combine product lines so Nintendo only needs to support one platform. It absolutely will replace the 3DS.

Well, this is just amazing.

Out of town for the holiday weekend, and to kill time we went and stood in line at the local Target for a while. Doors open, chaos ensues, but hey, I scored a black 3DS!

Get back to the hotel, plugged it in (remembered the charger!) and... nothing. It's been charging for 45 minutes (orange light is on) and it won't even turn on. Naturally Nintendo is closed for the holiday, Target is long sold out of replacements, and the front desk doesn't even have a screwdriver so I can open it up and check to see if maybe the battery isn't seated fully.

Did a test mock run on my black unit and it feels comfortable so far. Charging it now. I can only imagine how bad it'll get when I pop Dragon Quest VII in for a few hours. Need to get at least a 128gb or 64gb to be golden.

As far as Nintendo's support? Yeah, 3DS is out the window.

But as far as consumer interest goes, they'd better keep producing units for a while until they have any kind of backwards compatibility or virtual console plans. Just don't expect brand new games.

You can still go buy a new PS3 and 360.

Are you sure you're pushing the power button all the way in? The New 3DS's power button is awful. I always have to make sure to use my fingernail or the stylus to turn it on.

Wow :( I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm assuming that if something is wrong with your unit, warranty can cover it and you wouldn't need to return it.

Anyone get their Walmart online unit to move pass processing? When should I begin to be worried about this.

I don't understand why Nintendo Continually shoots themselves in the foot. They constantly undership their products and lose potential future sales in the process.

First it was the Amiibo. I would've bought all of them and would still continue to buy them but when they became scarce, I stopped collecting and sold the ones I bought. I will now never buy another Amiibo.

The NES Classic is impossible to find and that screams impulse purchase for many people. Those should be in stock by the truckloads in every store. Every day those aren't in stores is a day that many casual purchases forget about the system.

Lastly you have the $99 3ds. I sold my 3ds a couple of months ago because the Switch is coming out. I heard about the $99 3ds and thought, maybe I should rebuy this since it is cheap (almost an impulse purchase for me) and try to buy all the Nintendo games I would like to own. Now, not only will I not buy the system because I can't find it but I won't be buying any games.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Every time they undership and allow the scalping market to flourish, they piss off their loyal fans and lose money in the process.

Nope, it's totally dead. If I pushed the power button it any harder, it would break it. I do get a "click", so I assume it is pushed in all the way.

Is the system supposed to have a faceplate on the front? I got a white one that only has a rear faceplate.

Edit- Nevermind. Its in a separate baggie that had slipped out when I took it out if the box.

Brickseek showed 8 units at a Target 6 miles away from my house. Feeling antsy I decided to swing by. A kind Target associate brought me to the display where there was one (!) white unit left. Got there just in time.

Mine's still processing too (in-store pickup).

I was all set to buy the classic then I realized how hard it was to find and built myself a retropie. They lost a sale from me. Their practices are just ridiculous

Tell her she can stand in line next time.

Ha! Well, I offered hers up to someone in this thread, and if they don't need it I will gladly offer it up at cost to anyone in here who needs one.

edit: They declined. Anyone here want it? $115 shipped (with the difference in shipping being refunded after I ship) :)

Mine is the same, it has a plate on the bottom but not on the top. All screws are in place, so I don't think it fell off. Nothing in the packaging, it's pretty weird.

amen, I've soured a lot on Nintendo largely because of this. They've missed out on hundreds of dollars for me. And for what? It's not like they're getting a cut of the scalpers' profits.

ive been trying to get one for a friend of mine who has four kids since its an actual affordable system but no luck so far. She is getting so frustrated about it I am repeatedly having to talk her out out buying the one for 178 with mario on amazon. Been telling her if I can't get the 99 dollar one I'll cover the difference if the 178 one goes up even more in price.

For what it's worth, Target does sell the Mario 3D Land bundle for $149 and on Sunday and Monday the store will have 15% off site wide. I got one of the $99 ones, but this alternative isn't bad at all if you want the game.

How about the $150 ones in Target instead of paying 178 for them.

Yeah this of about the gist of it for me. I feel like Nintendo doesn't want me as a customer since I'm not willing to drop eBay dollars on stuff that I'm interested in.

I'd like to add virtual console prices to your list of grievances, if I may.

What are the numbers for brick seek?

I've received 3 emails from Amazon now regarding this "price error" but my orders have neither been changed nor shipped. I wish they would just either ship it or cancel whatever they need to cancel....

That was easier than expected. Walked in to our local frys (Renton, WA) with no lines or anything and picked up the last white 3ds there. They still have a couple of black ones available for anyone in the area interested.

I just got the N3DS this morning and want to transfer my stuff from my OG 3DS to this one but it says I need to update my OG 3DS. Is there a way to transfer it over or am I out of luck?

The reason I'm hesitant is because my OG 3DS is still at 9.9.0-26U firmware and I feel like this is valuable since the firmware is still pretty low. Or at least is broader in terms of options on what to do with it.

Should I update? or any way to transfer my stuff from the OG to the new? Help ;(

Just got a pic from my gf who is at a target here in LA.

After you have installed a CFW using the A9LH exploit, you can freely upgrade to the latest firmware and retain the hacked status. The important thing is to perform the exploit first. So hack your OG 3DS, then upgrade it, then transfer.

If you want to hack the N3DS you just bought, which apparently has 11.0.0-33U, you will need to use the hacked OG 3DS to hack the new one. There is currently no hack for 11.0+ which works without using a pre-hacked OG 3DS but people are saying there is now an exploit for 11.0+ (but NOT 11.2+ so do not upgrade without hacking first) which will be released sometime soon, maybe in the next few weeks.

You would have to call Nintendo and get them to transfer your NNID. But you'll lose the rest because that is only transferred if you do a system transfer. And yes, you'll have to update.

Edit: Or do what Unknown said.
