I actually liked the idea

Even so, it was still going to be him writing and directing it, so whatever goodness in the idea was likely going to be leached out.

But it's a bad idea anyway, because the only real appeal is for fans who think wiping out every movie after ALIENS is like - gonna ACTUALLY wipe out every movie after ALIENS.

They'll still be there.

Which is of course, the comedy of everything Fox has tried to do with this property since 1992, when they broke it in half trying to make the third one: They've been trying to top Alien 3 for over 20 years and they still can't fucking do it.

It looked better than the first trailer. I'm still unsure about the characters and the repetition of some story tropes that are getting a bit old but who knows with Ridley Scott. You never know what you're gonna get with him. But I'll be there day one.

Like anyone really wants to see an ALIENS-esque action movie starring 70 year-old Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn.

The premise itself is fucking busted.

I think people would be ok with a 70 year old Sigourney Weaver. It's the 60 year Michael Biehn who looks emaciated these days. It's not the years it's the mileage with him. It shows he has had some rough years between the drugs,the booze and Jennifer blanc.
