Am I the only one ashamed of the existence of DoA Xtreme 3?

I hope you never walk through the Louvre.

Once you hit the 3D stuff you'll probably explode.

Just look at this filth.
Funny thing is acknowledged fine art depicting the human body has already been censored because we're living in crazy times.

Sex is the point of a lot of mainstream entertainment. That one may be dreck, but it does have characters and a plot in a way DOAX3 does not (right?).

I'd argue that the plot of 50 Shades is worse than DOAX. A least DOAX is about people having a good time in a tropical paradise.

I think there is an argument that 50 Shades is more malicious that's for sure, as it misrepresents BDSM culture is a potentially dangerous way.

I'm fine with. Probably wouldn't get it even if it was officially released in the west, but I don't see anything wrong with it. It is what it is and doesn't seem to bullshit. Although maybe if the volleyball is actually good...

Why would you be ashamed of this? It has nothing to do with you.
It would be like a film enthusiast feeling ashamed because soft core porn exits, or a literary fan being ashamed by the very existence of erotic novellas.

Indulging in a medium of entertainment does not instantly make every single piece of media within that format reflect on you as an individual, this topic is ridiculous.

It's interactive, softcore porn. Pretty harmless as far as I'm concerned.

And I'll echo what was said above: if fifty shades of grey can be a rip roaring success, despite the fact that it demeans women in multiple0 ways and is laughably bad (which is then completely ignored by 99% of the press who cover it), then there's a pass for DOA.

The only real problem related to doax3 that I can see is that the console platforms are so closed down that the viability of actual porn / softcore games suffers greatly atm. In general the games industry is so laser focused on distribution platforms that actually raunchy games have difficulty due to tight rules on those platforms.

Real maturity of the industry would mean that there are proper distribution methods and markets for all sorts of diverse games. Including porn and softcore games. And people could then go and buy/ignore the products they want/don't want. Right now there's no real booming market for even softcore products let alone actual porn games. And it's mostly a distribution issue. I mean as much as I've enjoyed some silly Oculus demos downloaded from Mega.co.nz (... don't ask ...) I'd really like to see for example Valve open a section on steam that isn't showcased on the front page but still sells and advertises games like this. And in countries where the law requires you could make it require some sort of ID check. Sony and MS would be an even tougher nut to crack but in theory they could do the same.

Who knows, maybe having distribution systems that make porn games commercially viable would also mean that we'd see less of pointless sexualization in other areas of gaming.

Right to exist does not equate with harmless, though. Objectification reinforces hegemonic institutionalized sexism.

yeah, and playing gta makes everyone a gunslinging maniac.
CoD trains us all to use weapons in the right way and reduces empathy to all humans, just like need for speed is the reason someone would drive 200 on a highway and endangering others.

/s

it reinforces a view if your mentality is already fucked up.

btw, i have no interest in playing this game, but this whole thread is hilarious to me

Just look at this filth.

Boobs are too small and lack fleshy bounce action. Not swinging on a pole. Not on a turntable so we can spin around for a closer look at her naughty bits. Not adjusting her uh...drop cloth.

I addressed all of these points in other posts ITT and that isn't what I meant. Please see my subsequent posts. I agree with you that GTA and COD do not create widespread legions of killers.

What another man (or woman) eats doesn't make me shit.

That said, im perfect fine with pointing out that he or she is eating garbage.

Im not ashamed of DOAX3's existence, but I would be ashamed of anyone I personally knew who had it in their collection. Just like those weird love pillow things. Get some real pussy breh.

Can people please just shut up about bitching about this game? For fucks sake, just because YOU think sexuality is a sin and you should be ashamed of it doesn't mean everyone else has to repress their enjoyment of boobs.

Don't worry, people act like this because Dead or Alive Xtreme 1+2 was rated Mature :p

Just a fun fact, these games were for 12 year old kids here in Germany. That should say everything about some strange comments in here. What I wanted to tell some people in here was that they live their sexuality a bit more openly.

DOAX has characters with a background story. Don't know about a plot. Haven't played the games outside of the fighting ones.

But if sex in mainstream entertainment is OK, then I don't see any issue with it being in video games - which are pretty mainstream entertainment also.

It is not wrong to have some movies, games or books focused on beautiful people doing sexy things.

The problem with sexism in videogames was that a lot of developers just fell back on those sexist ways without thinking "maybe we could do this differently", put realistic women in their products and break out of old gender roles like "the guy is the hero and the woman is the reward" and such.

I just cant stand it anymore. Everytime I see images or trailers of the game I feel the deepest of shames.

I feel the urge of hitting his devs on their faces and yell at them "what the hell do you think you are doing?"

You might want to take a look at those anger issues.

In summary, I am not ashamed of it. I'm not exactly showing my parents or friends that it exists but I rarely show them anything video game related (not because of shame but because they couldn't give two shits)as is.

Remember: Sexualisation happens inside your mind. If you find something sexual, it's down to you. Granted there are certain triggers that we can all agree are "Erotic" or "Sexual" but for the most part it's your perception.

I for one find the sculpture work astounding. I can also, on an entirely different level enjoy the nipples and definition of the abdominal muscles.

I just blew OP's mind.

I think that this game should be considered a sexist abomination, and every gamer with a minimum of social matturity should be angry at how this game treats girls.
I'm 'socially mature' enough to see it for what it is, just a bit of virtual titillation... there are far bigger issues in reality for people to be ashamed/angry about when it comes to the treatment (and not only in a sexual regard) of people (not just women) in general than a very tongue in cheek soft-core virtual beach volleyball game.

Excuse me for only reading the first page but goddamn you can't be serious. OP's the reason it's not coming to the States. People getting upset over fucking pieces of code that have nothing to do with them or that even effects them. Be ashamed of other real world problems not a goddamn video game.

Like sure there are tons of sexist problems in video games but this game is almost explicitly for the purpose of looking at beautifully modeled girls in less than pure Christian ways. It's not an rpg with heavy armored males and non clothed females. It's not a statement it's fan service. And although the I'm not buying I'm not embarrassed by it. Just like how shitty fan service anime doesn't embarrass me about good anime. (And I'm In no way saying DOAX is shitty)

The problem with sexism in video games is that female objectification was omnipresent, so that games that didn't need it and that women could otherwise enjoy became alienating. It's fine for some games to have that stuff but when a majority of console/AAA games felt unwelcoming to women that was a problem.

I think that's changed a huge amount in the last 5 years, and mobile gaming has also given women tons of appropriate gender-neutral games to play.

A game where sexual objectification is obvious a huge part of the draw was never the problem.

That old Victorian prudishness given new life by this new-wave aggressive political correctness ignoring the boundaries of reason.

I mean, having lowest common denominator thinking permeate throughout the entire medium is problematic, but it really is a matter of degrees. The games we criticized the industry for making have as much right to exist as any other... it is embarassing to the consumers of the industry as a whole, if that's all there is in the medium. It'd be like Playboy was automatically entangled with videogames, and you'd be trying to insist that, it's not really about the mild titilation! But that's not the situation, and never really was - and has even been improving.

So it's hilarious to me that the OP feels so attached to videogames that he feels somehow responsible for been associated with a cheesecake fanservice game.

At some point, you need to step back and examine the justification for your own feelings - step outside of your own perspective and imagine from the perspective of another whether or not your feelings and thoughts are reasonable. Use substitutes for which you don't have as much emotional attachment.

You'll quickly come to realize that problem is in your head, and not with anything else.

I think it's silly and I don't understand the appeal, but I also don't think like one game is representative of the medium. That would be preposterous.

It would be funny to be able to travel into the future say 10 or 15 years after the poster has matured little bit and saw this post they made so long ago. That would be one case when actually the should be ashamed, but of his own actions. I wonder if the poster would then punch himself in the face?

Yeah, it's pretty astonishing how much it actually looks like thin cloth draped over a body. Great work that's appreciable on top of the underlying eroticism.

I just cant stand it anymore. Everytime I see images or trailers of the game I feel the deepest of shames.

I feel the urge of hitting his devs on their faces and yell at them "what the hell do you think you are doing?"

I know it's a japanese game, made for japanese people, it's japanese culture and it have its market there, but outside Japan... I think that this game should be considered a sexist abomination, and every gamer with a minimum of social matturity should be angry at how this game treats girls.

The game might just be softcore porn and I would be fine with that. But that's not the case.

The game, just as japanese moe and fanservice garbage, presents the girls as stupid, brainless humanoid objects, only created to fit an stupid cliché and try to make the guys wet dreams real.

It saddens me that there's a serious game where the main focus is insulting people's intelligence with such surreal just-for-japanese clichés bullshit.

The, I see all the people saying how great the game looks, and I am all like, how can they like this abomination?

Needed to spit this fire out, sorry.

I objectively understand that someone may be offended by it and all, but this sounds a little obsessive. If the release of a videogame causes you this much 'fire' and loathing to the point you want to punch the devs in the face, it's time to get out more.

I can't stand moral crusader like you. If you don't like it, don't fucking buy it. Just because YOU have a problem with sexualized game doesn't mean the rest of the world have to conform to your prudeness. Get the fuck off your high horse.

I'm curious as to the age of the OP.....

Men, and quite a few women, like/love things like that...it's ok. ;)

Heck, I love the volleyball in it...not sure I have many other choices. Wife enjoys the volleyball in the series too.

Stop being so uptight.
