Down with sexism. Women deserve to be treated equally in not only our society, but all societies. I don't think that DOAX is sexist. I think that a key component of maturity is the ability to distinguish between fantasy and reality and act accordingly, which is why I can say down with sexism and still enjoy DOAX (or even Quiet).

I was just thinking that I'm never buying this, since it's not being localized and all, and twitch would be the one way for me to somewhat see the content, and thinking about it, Twitch Chat would probably make it even more fun than the game itself. I'm one of the weird people who have a blast spamming emotes like an idiot.

I don't have much interest in DoAX3, but I can at least respect the game for being honest about what it is, as opposed to say something like MGSV where a character like Quiet is at odds thematically with the rest of the game.

If anything, I think the problem with DoAX3 is that there isn't an option/version that includes the male characters. Equal opportunity sexiness for everyone!

The theater analogy makes no sense because mainstream theater is a much more highly curated and populist selection whereas modern consoles are still pretty open to the amount of products they allow in store.

It's more like when there were still video rental stores and they had a softcore (sometimes hardcore) sections.

It's a game that broadcasts exactly what it is and doesn't hide anything. I honestly have more problems with games that try to tell legitimate stories and shove fanservice in there (e.g. MGS5)

While i think it's cringe worthy and wank material at best, i still feel more ashamed with something like Quiet in Metal Gear that does something similar but try to hide it behind a "serious" story as if we couldn't tell why it's there. At least i respect DOAX because it doesn't treat it's audience like idiots.

Yes and they don't hide it. Dead or Alive is just a bit more popular and now that it looks a bit more realistic, some people think that the developers don't know why people this game. It is yank material and nobody said that it wasn't.

It is still on a console and so it is a videogame, because you can still play card games in the casino, build relationsships with the girl (and building them was hard as fuck in DOAX1+2) and... surprise also play volleyball (and jetski etc.). It is a game with tits and it doesn't hide it intentions like MGSV with Quiet.

That's just age restriction and the fact that nowadays no one will pay a movie ticket to watch porn. Porn cinema's used to be quite popular.

I don't see this hard separation you are talking about:

-I can buy porn mags at every kiosk
-more softocre stuff, like the cover of sports illustrated or playboy is even frequently a talking point in the regular people's section of national newspapers.
-50 Shades of Gray and other popular smutty books are advertised and discussed openly even in "serious" publications
-Softcore porn is sown on regular TV channels at late hours (though that has become more rare in recent years)..

Anti-sex isn't really a feminist stance either.

Of course feminism is more about taking control of their own sexuality (which doesn't mean restricting it, sometimes even flaunting it really) and this is about men (probably some female developers in Team Ninja, I dunno) putting their own designs on what are basically virtual sex dolls, but it's hard to give agency to something which doesn't have agency in the first place.

Of course, love seeing women included as strong leads, but humans are inherently sexual creatures, and one doesn't contradict the other. If anything I want sexualisation of males too. Men can be very, very sexy sexual objects.
