Seems like they've expanded their distribution since the last time I checked. For example Canada now has two restaurants that carry it while before it was just Park Restaurant in Montreal.

Any "ghost pepper" branding you see is AT BEST Habanero but is probably just Jalapeno or even "random slightly hot pepper".

Ghost Pepper has a very specific flavor that is missing in 99.9% of ghost pepper branding.

As they say, there simply isn't enough Wagyu raised in America for all of this "Kobe" beef to be from Japan or America. Oddly, this same problem has happened with Angus beef. There's plenty of Angus in America, but not every Angus burger you buy is going to be 100% Angus. Restaurants (especially fast food restaurants) just love their buzzwords.

Which doesn't surprise me; I'm just saying I don't see i when I'm out. I think nicer restaurants at least here in Seattle know people are aware of the scam. I don't eat at Cheescake Factory.
