I am a single male who's been invited to go out to a swinger's club in NYC today. I'd be going with two couples and another single friend of mine (male). I've always wanted to see what it was like but I'm unsure whether it'd be worth it for me to go. It'd cost $120 for me.

What do I want? Not entirely sure. I wouldn't mind meeting someone and fucking around, but as I understand it, it's mostly for couples to engage in threesomes and gangbangs (at this particular venue in NYC).

Yea but that chance costs $100, I'm actually developing a cold, and I'm not entirely comfortable with having sex unless it's one-on-one. It's not a place to roam around naked unless you're in the designated section upstairs, apparently (the playroom). It's still a club with a DJ and dance floor.

I'm trying to see whether I can justify spending so much and battling through this cold to experience it.

I'm friends with a swingers couple and another couple that likes the environment, but don't actually partake in the actual swing.

As I understand it the culture is very polite, and you should always make sure you ask or receive some kind of acknowledgement before you just start engaging in any activities.

These people are typically in their 40s-60s, with an occasional outlier. Don't expect super models, but expect a lot of people very comfortable with their imperfections.

DO NOT be a wallflower, that's a great way to get kicked out. At the very least, talk with some people. Don't just sit and watch some things from a safe distance. Someone will notice you, and someone will probably request you be removed.

Other than that, just have a good time. Don't spend too much time in your head, and just enjoy yourself.

I have a buddy that goes to a swingers club and he's basically told me that the way his club does it is they have different colored cups for what you're comfortable doing.

If you just want to watch you drink out of a red cup, interested in girls another cup, threesomes another cup, etc.
