Retail or wholesale in bulk?

Unless you wanted the classic ceramic white then this is a good thing for all.mamacint said:Anyone?
border said:The problem with the iPod Touch is that it is too expensive for the nano crowd and doesn't have enough storage for the iPod Classic crowd. I'm not really sure what their market is, and the close price-competition with the iPhone means that a good number of people will just pony up the money for a new phone.

MaizeRage25 said:Exactly. I fully believe 8 and 16 GB was as much as they could put in to stay at the 300/400 dollar price points. Maybe I'm a fool though.

(In Canada, I mean.)
Understatement, they own a large chunk of Samsung specifically for this.reilo said:$78 for 8GB on Newegg... what's the other $222 go to? Profit?
Mind you, in bulk, Apple can get these a lot cheaper, too.

I didn't want black, but maybe I do now..
MaizeRage25 said:Maybe I'm a sucker, but I'll be getting the Touch as soon as it's available.

I have barely 12gb on my iTunes. How much do you have?
22.48. I just realized 160 GB might be overkill, but with videos and my rapidly-expanding library it's probably safer than 80.Gary Whitta said:Putting video aside for one moment, it astonishes me that some people actually have 160gb of music, but I guess many do.

reilo said:MP3 folder reads 19GB. I know I could make 16GB easily work for me [there's a ton of shit I don't listen to anymore since my tastes always change], but I refuse to pay $399 for 16GB on principle. That's just too much money.

Can you transfer music and videos from your PC over WiFi with this or the iphone, or do you have to use usb?
noXater said:Guys I only need 8GB and I only watch like 4 video podcast (but they are 16:9). Do you guys think I can justify 100 more just for the bigger screen and the novelty of using the touch screen? Wifi doesn't help me much because there are no free hotspots in my are and I am not someone who pays to quickly get on the net.
iPod Mini was discontinued less than 2 years after it was introduced. It did not "tank" but it was a pretty obvious stopgap that was not made to be futureproof. I'm not saying that Touch will tank, just that it is not long for this world (in its current form). Just as the mini was replaced by the nano, so to will the Touch be replaced by some sort of HDD-based model.Burai said:People said similar things about the iPod mini in comparison to the iPod and that just exploded. I really expected the mini (and the Shuffle too) to tank hard and they didn't. People really did just want to pay more than they should for the pleasure of a small, pink iPod.

Well I think you could totally justify it, Xater. In fact, you're a fool if you don't.Xater said:THX sometimes I jsut need someone that says that it really would be a waste of money for me. New nano it is for me.
General retail on Saturday if their own logistics go to plan.sefskillz said:has there been any update as to when the 'by the weekend' is for these appearing in stores? and by in stores do they mean apple stores or retail stores in general (best buy, circuit city, etc)?

:lol I'm just screwing with you, man. Hyoushi's right.Xater said:100 is alot of money for larger screen that will be used like 5-8 times a week to watch a video. The touch stuff is not that important to me and as already mentioned Wifi is pretty much not usable in my region without paying.
I also need some money to buy me one of those sexy new iMacs because I am totally pissed of by my PC. I should have never gone back to a Windows PC. I hate it...

A company doesn't drop the price of something this much so soon if it's doing well.
And I think the iPod Touch is going to take potential iPhone sales.
