i think every web designer and his dog cant wait for it!
Screw IE6,7 & sometimes 8
Why should i add in additional JS or code or images just for you
Count me in for an iPad
Not sure on the 3G version though, wily bastards using a smaller sim card so i can't use an existing sim and data plan!
Flo_Evans said:Yeah too bad about those pesky clients that hire web designers to make shit and expect it to work on all browsers... :lol

Not saying this makes sense or anything, but Adobe could probably create a ton of negative Apple press if they create a flash-enabled browser and submit it to Apple, only to have Apple reject it.
Adobe could single-handedly undermine Apple if they did this.
I don't know...Tobor said:I'm fairly certain at this point that more people would question Adobe's sanity for attempting it.

That's not the same thing, though.Flo_Evans said:Those are just skins on mobile safari.
Adobe is getting flash on the iphone, by way of flash CS5. http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashcs5/appsfor_iphone/

If Adobe started creating a ton of press for a new browser that supported flash being completely developed and sitting in Apple's queue, I don't know how Apple can decline that app without getting shit on by customers.
It gives the consumer a choice if they want to deal with flash or not, and whatever ramifications that come with it.
Perhaps bundle it with a FireFox browser for iPhone and make rejecting it that much more of a big deal to generate a ton of bad press.
I think it'd be a pretty big news item in the tech world if Apple was blocking a flash enabled browser from showing up on it's store.mrkgoo said:"Apple rejects another app for appoval for appearing on iPhone Appstore. News at 11."

That's just a toolset for flash developers to use to create iPhone applications. Nothing about that is going to get flash support in a browser.
...
For what it's worth, I really don't care if flash is supported or not, but I do like the idea of having it outside the regular browser if I did want it for one reason or another. The default user will never get at it (making Apple happy) but if someone wanted to get at it, they could (and deal with whatever experience that provides, making Adobe happy).
Sure, news in the tech world. Whyher this be anything meaningful to normal public is another matter.RubxQub said:I think it'd be a pretty big news item in the tech world if Apple was blocking a flash enabled browser from showing up on it's store.
Maybe it wouldn't, but seeing how much people here get riled up about it, I have to imagine it'd be a pretty big item.
My bad, didn't mean to bring it back up :lolKung Fu Jedi said:...And we're back to Flash again. Damn, they need to give us more info on the iPad soon. More apps! More videos! More impressions! Save us from the ongoing Flash talk!
Someone please start the "Official Flash: Love it or Leave it" thread and be done withit.

Huh, didn't know that. I just assumed they still didn't since Mozilla recently said there was no plans for firefox on i-devices.Vennt said:Actually they do now, It's just that in order to be approved they have to use WebKit as the rendering engine.
Lol, seeing the whole, proprietary format controlled by a single company argument used against Flash but in defense of Apple really makes my day, guess it really comes down to brand loyalty, not openness or control.peacebyanymeans said:Everything.
Flash is a proprietary format, controlled by a single company, whereas HTML5 is a standard setup by the Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group (WHATWG). Also, if that wasn't enough, Flash is bloated, buggy, and a power-hog.

I was using the nook in bed last night and it occurred to me, how much bigger is the ipad than a standard ereader? Anything bigger than a kindle/nook and I would think it would start to get uncomfortable. One of the reasons I have been reading on digital formats (pda back in the day, iphone, Droid and now the nook) is that I can't stand the bulk of a hardcover book . Obviously this device does a lot more than the ibook stuff, but it's something to consider as I debate picking one up.
Though it's a bit smaller than the Kindle DX. Perfect size imo.Tobor said:

Flo_Evans said:True, but I think it's for the best. Flash would fucking suck on the iphone. Forget performance, shit developed for flash is made with a kb/mouse in mind. A touch interface is a whole different beast for UI.

The quicker Flash dies and HTML5 becomes prevalent will be a good day for the Internet.
