Are you going to buy PS4 Pro?

Pass for me. When I'm ready for a 4K TV upgrade then I'll be more interested. That purchase isn't in my plans for anytime soon though, my current TV is just fine and 4K content is lacking. Don't need a $400 console upgrade if I won't reap all the benefits.

Still like nice graphics and all, just upgraded my PC for VR. Feel better investing in that platform for the long haul anyway, my current PS4 isn't going anywhere for any must play console exclusives.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm getting one. Increased performance and graphical enhancements is fine with me. No way in hell I'm waiting until next year for the Scorpio just to upgrade.

Unless they are tied 100% to the Sony brand, I would say consumers are doing themselves a disservice not waiting to see what Scorpio is offering before buying this.

Not only will 4k TVs be cheaper but if the rumoured specs are true, it blows this thing out of the water.

I'm a current PS4 owner and I've been loving it but I can't justify getting this right now. So it's kind of like being left behind but not caring enough about the 'leap' forward to be bothered by or angry about it.

I don't think Sony were aiming for that feeling. I'm just kind of apathetic now and waiting to see what others can do to convince me to part with my money.

You might have the disposable cash for everything though and more power to you if you do.

No. I don't really see a point when I already have a PS4. That, and I loathe their customer service so I don't really want much to do with them going forward.

I call BS, like i said earlier, on PC i have 20-34fps and i go agaisnt people that have 100+ fps yet i can still hold my own.

While that may be the case for you. I see it as a mandate . FPS does make a difference and you'd be giving people an unfair advantage in certain cases. I'd be shocked if Scorpio did this differently.

I've got it preordered.

Between improving PSVR and the upgrades for upcoming titles, I'm in.

I am disappointed about the UHD thing, but I'm honestly not all that invested in buying 4k discs.

I think I need to see more games doing what ROTR is doing, with 1080p60 unlocked mode, 1080p30 with max IQ, or 4k30.

Cause I don't own a 4K TV but would buy Pro for 1080p60.

Don't know, need to see how much really devs are going to use that extra power but also getting a more powerful console for $100 doesn't look bad.

Not worth it now because no BluRay 4K and most of the pro games will no doubt be upscaled to 4K. Also content will be lacking day one. I'll stick with the PS4 for the exclusives as per usual and PC.

This is coming out in two months and at a very good price. Scorpio at this point doesn't exist and even then I'd expect it would do the same thing this is doing. These consoles won't have exclusives so how much better are you expecting Halo 6 to look between versions?

Welp, I was originally pretty hyped for Neo... Was ready but that Sony "sales pitch" sure as hell didn't do 'em any favors. Sheesh. They just didn't give 1080p TV owners a compelling reason to bother. Like a lot of other people I'm happy with my 1080p TVs and probably won't bother going 4K for at least a couple years. Assuming the industry settles on HDR and Adaptive Sync standards I'll probably take a look at a 70" OLED in 2018-19. Oh, and if the Pro really doesn't have a 4K BluRay player...salt in the wound, Sony. With all this in mind, the best I can say right now is I'm taking a wait n see. If Sony comes out soon and shows how at least a few existing games will take advantage of the extra grunt, then I'd be way more likely to go for it. Otherwise, I'll probably just pick up a Scorpio and call it good until PS4 Pro gets a price cut...

If you're content with your PS4 now you don't have to get this. It's just not for you and that's fine.

I know I don't have to get it. That's besides the point.

The reveal showed more to me about the direction the company is going in, and how they seem to be responding to the market.

It seems to be less about following what made the console such a such success and more about doing things for the sake of doing them...the old Sony way.

How do pre orders work for something like this. The full $399 charged at checkout?
BestBuy selling it yet?

Don't think it's up on Bestbuy yet, but if you do it through them online they do a pre-authorization hold for a couple of days.

Go to gamestop and put $50 down or just preorder on amazing at no risk lol.

I'm not saying this isn't a good buy for new PS4 owners, it's a great price.

Is it worth the money if you have a PS4?

That's subjective but for me, someone who has flitted between brands over the generations, this whole thing is a super weak proposition right now and I'd rather keep my cash in my pocket.

A handheld (NX) or a substantial upgrade (Scorpio) around the time people are getting serious about 4k TVs is way more appealing than the urge to get something shiny and new.

I'm not made of money, sheeeet.

But, I don't see any other reason than resolution/speed... which I do not care about. I just want to play fun games.

I have no interest in Scorpio because I hate the direction Microsoft has moved as a company. At this point there is more chance of me buying a NX.

I'm hovering over the preorder button and it sounds dumb but the lack of a White option is stopping me from biting the bullet.

To be fair this is where the gaming market is heading. MS is doing the same thing. They are just launching later and with high specs. It's all about keeping you in their eco systems and then upgrading hardware incrementally.

It's pre-ordered so yup. I don't have a 4K TV just yet but should be able to get a cheap ish one by November.

Nope, if I was gonna get a PS4 this fall then yes, but if I had a PS4 already I wouldnt buy it the upgrade doesnt seem like much.

Yeah. Really wish Sony was more keen on pushing availability of the systems in white. The white really looks good and it's a shame they aren't commonly available, especially in NA.

I was about to buy it, then i watched this conference and it managed to make me stay with my ps4 instead. Doesnt seem to be enough reason to buy Pro... I expected focus on extreme graphical upgrades over PS4 and it turns out that the main idea is mostly 4k-ish resolution. Seems more like a waste of resources to me. Granted i expect this to change in a year or so.

uh, so you dont want 4K TV for next 3 years but you want 4K BD in PS4 Pro?

Makes no sense at all.

And they talked a lot about 1080p improvements on PS4 Pro.

I have a White 500GB PS4 since they're pretty common here in Australia but I'm torn as to whether I should wait for them to release the Pro in White or just bite the bullet and get it in black on Day One :(

I don't have a 4K television and don't plan on buying one in the near future, so I'll probably hold off. My son is going off to college next year, so when he takes the PS4 with him, I'll most likely splurge on the Neo.

Maybe if there is a good trade in deal. I'm pretty content playing most things on PC right now and there aren't many exclusives coming out soon that I'm dying to play.

If, as a 1080p tv owner you're are not interested in better framerates and/or better assets and graphics that PS4 Pro brings to those who own those those kind of sets, then you effectively don't need to purchase it.

Probably not. I might get the slim just because my current PS4 is loud, but outside of that I feel like I'm done with consoles.

I'm considering it. I kind of want a 2nd ps4 for the bedroom, so I can just swap out the living room ps4 with the ps4p and place my ps4 in the bedroom.
