The "casuals" are reacting really badly to this (at least from my perspective, seeing comments on italian website and some friends' opinions)Man, they really messed up their messaging didn't they? I don't want to think about how the casuals will react...
(4K is just an option, you will get plenty of nice graphic/ frame rate upgrades with an regular HDTV.)
Because being patronising achieves that?Probably a few weeks after release. Sure, 4K Blu-ray is not that big of a deal to me, we never buy movies and regular Blu-ray is fine. But I will express fake outrage to appease people.
I had numerous issues with the way it was presented, and the lack of 4K UHD Blu-Ray playback put the nail in the coffin, so no, I won't be buying one. In fact, this whole thing left such a sour taste in my mouth that I cancelled my PSVR as well, since it's obvious they mean for you to play PSVR using the Pro.
i was planning on buying it to experience games perform better but it's not looking good right now.
I'm in the same exact boat.I have been waiting for 10 years to play FFXV, I sure as hell want the best possible experience. Since they claim to offer some sort of patch for it and it comes out before the game launches, here we are.
I really doubt it. I may get one eventually down the line, but not until my PS4 dies or I feel the upgrades merit spending $400.
Not to mention I never buy a console within it's release year, update or new gen.
Where are people getting this notion that PS4 pro was meant for VR or are people still pushing that narrative?
All the games you've seen and have been demoed have been on the OG PS4. That conference barely mentioned VR.
They didn't show me a single reason to so no
To be fair this is where the gaming market is heading. MS is doing the same thing. They are just launching later and with high specs. It's all about keeping you in their eco systems and then upgrading hardware incrementally.
