Are you going to buy PS4 Pro?

I got a pre-order in, but I haven't seen what differences will be like for keeping it at 1080p instead of 4k. If that looks impressive enough, I'll keep the pre-order.

Man, they really messed up their messaging didn't they? I don't want to think about how the casuals will react...

(4K is just an option, you will get plenty of nice graphic/ frame rate upgrades with an regular HDTV.)
The "casuals" are reacting really badly to this (at least from my perspective, seeing comments on italian website and some friends' opinions)

Were the live translations misleading?
Cerny was pretty clear on how they are incapable of going native 4k with a modest console price range.

If I can get a decent PayPal credit deal then maybe this year (unlikely as my heart's set on PSVR). If not most likely some point next year I'll jump aboard. Might just wait for some good deal in a few months if any are going. I hope and expect we'll get the cleaner image quality with every future game and other enhancements too, but outside of that, and the definitive improvement it will make to PSVR I'm not actually too bothered. Was hoping for something special here, not in terms of Tflops, but just something else special about this console that truly makes it necessary, but I can't think of anything. I really hope the list of old titles getting patched grows and grows..

I had numerous issues with the way it was presented, and the lack of 4K UHD Blu-Ray playback put the nail in the coffin, so no, I won't be buying one. In fact, this whole thing left such a sour taste in my mouth that I cancelled my PSVR as well, since it's obvious they mean for you to play PSVR using the Pro.

yes. Chances are we wont see another system from Sony until 2018. My day one og ps4 is definitely on it's last leg, so its either buy the pro or the slim model.

While Spiderman, Days Gone, And Horizon looked delicious running on the PS4 Pro I need a side by side comparison of the vanilla versions to make my final decision. Also depends on 4K tv pricing around launch. Price point seems fair. Box isn't as sexy as the original though :(

Where are people getting this notion that PS4 pro was meant for VR or are people still pushing that narrative?

All the games you've seen and have been demoed have been on the OG PS4. That conference barely mentioned VR.

I have been waiting for 10 years to play FFXV, I sure as hell want the best possible experience. Since they claim to offer some sort of patch for it and it comes out before the game launches, here we are.

Don't own a PS4. Want to play FFXV, Persona 5, KH3, FF7:R etc. $100 isn't gonna break my wallet.

I think the choice is clear.

I'm in the same exact boat.

I don't want to drop coin on a new PS4 when mine works fine but I'll wind up hunting for the best trade deal solely for FFXV.

Nope. I'll put that money towards a 1080 Ti. Current consoles can barely do 1080p/60fps, how are they going to do 4k when PC's still struggle? Answer: They won't perform well. No amount of optimization will make up for the kind of work 4k requires.

This feels like the updated console no one asked for. I would've much rather waited a year to have a console more on the same footing as Scorpio. Totally underwhelmed, especially considering they're still using the Jaguar CPU.

I really doubt it. I may get one eventually down the line, but not until my PS4 dies or I feel the upgrades merit spending $400.

Not to mention I never buy a console within it's release year, update or new gen.

Very uninterested. I mean I wasn't really in the market as I am a PS4 owner gone PC gamer recently, but the upgrade seems almost completely worthless.

Already preordered - yes

1. All of my friends are on PS4
2. Getting a 4k tv sometime in the future
3. Current PS4 starting to chug at times
4. I don't care for PC gaming so a somewhat improved PS4, even slightly? Count me in.

If you wait down the line it'll probably not be $400.

That's the one thing people are forgetting. It's not like this will be $400 forever.

srsly where does this narrative come from? they barely spent 2 minutes on VR today

Nope, let down here.

I'll grab FFXV when the inevitable PC version comes out.

I hope we'll get another revision from Sony after they get an initial grip with the VR market. One that has true 4k and 4Kbluray support.

To be fair this is where the gaming market is heading. MS is doing the same thing. They are just launching later and with high specs. It's all about keeping you in their eco systems and then upgrading hardware incrementally.

Actually, MS is committing to putting all their MS-published titles on PC so they're decidedly NOT doing that.

I'm in for sure not day 1 unless I can get decent sell in my ps4. I do have a 4K tv so for the price and visual upgrade I can see the value for me.
