Are you going to buy PS4 Pro?

As someone who doesn't own a PS4 yet, probably not. Price is good but I don't really need the extra boost in power and I don't have a 4K setup anyway. PS4 Slim is right up my alley.

After being a playstation fanboy for all of these years, I am surprised at myself when I say no, it is not worth the upgrade. Just wait for the next version to come out when specs really change.

It's like the iPhone process. You just bought the iPhone 5, but then the new iPhone 5c comes out, same thing, just little changes. Not worth spending hundreds of dollars, just wait for the brand new one!

;)

Is it pointless if I don't have 4K TV?

No

HDTV owners will also be able to enjoy the enhanced gameplay experiences on PS4 Pro, as the system delivers 1080p resolution for all PS4 games and higher or more stable frame rates for some supported titles.

4K is the main noticeable benefit really. Some games might run at a slightly smoother frame rate that are 1080p, but I wouldn't say its worth the upgrade without 4K.

Did you watch the conference at all? I'll be getting it for the better 1080 graphics!

most likely but not for another year. need to get through way too many ps3 games and figure there will be bundles/deals for holiday 2017. also, will likely not upgrade the ol' tv for a couple years so i'm in no rush, but yeah, eventually.

If there is a trade-in offer from the original model, then perhaps. I just got my PS4 a year ago and I'm not too keen on immediately upgrading.

If there isn't a trade-in, then perhaps I could buy a new console all-together. But it won't be an immediate jump.

Yes but probably not until closer to release because I want to see what kind of deals different stores have, so I guess I might miss out on the first shipment. Hopefully not.

Nope...but will buy a PS4 Slim with HDR upgrade. Will be interesting to see comparison of a PS4 Pro on a 4K TV with HDR vs a regular PS4 with 4K TV upscale and HDR..

Nah, driven more to building a PC for twice or even three times the price. If I'm going to care all that more about graphics and performance I may as well go all in, considering I already own the Xbox One and the PS4.

I've got a good PC so I won't until we get some new PS4 exclusives that interest me. I already own/have played all the exclusives that interest me and most of the interesting stuff on the horizon will get a PC release (like NieR), so it's not particularly worth it at the moment.

However when we do get some new cool exclusives I'll definitely get one. I always want to experience the best version of games.

I've got a 1440p screen too, so it'd be nice to use more of that resolution when I choose to play in my room.

So did they show or announce whether the hard drive was removeable like on the slim? I'd probably still be keen to swap the HDD out with the SSD in my current PS4.

I need to see what the advantages are at 1080p over my base PS4. If they're significant enough, I have $200 in Gamestop credit just waiting ...

Otherwise, I'm closer to the NO side and feeling a bit apathetic TBH.

I'm not completely sold. I need to see what advantages I can get on my current 1080p display as I have no intention of upgrading.

No and the PS4 will most likely be the last Playstation / Console I have bought in general. Not going to support that mid-gen-upgrade shit. If I want to spend 800€ on something, I'm far better off with a PC (which I always had anyway). If there really is a game I need a PS5 for, I'm going to wait till the game comes out and I can buy it used / cheap along with the game. e.g. Persona 6 or something.

Going to hold off for now. I doubt I'll be buying a 4K tv in the next few years so really no point to it, but I guess if things break prematurely I'll consider it.

Nope, its a mild upgrade, so keep current machine then wait a year to get Scorpio, an upgrade worth replacing these consoles for.

Yes.

The PS4 Pro has been and always will be a game console.

I already have a 4K display; I already have an HDMI 2.0a receiver.

I'll be enjoying 4K gaming on the PS4 Pro this year.
