Haven't they said that they are open to future seasons depending on how this goes?

Ted Sarandos mentioned it in an interview/panel that its entirely possible.

It was mentioned that getting everyone's schedules to do a season would be quite difficult.

According to Hurwitz and co, there isn't exactly a way to chronologically watch it without having to jump between episodes. If you watch it from 1-15 you are going to end up a bit confused at some parts and have to piece it together.

I don't think this will be the case. Actually I highly suspect that claim has been exaggerated, when all they meant to say is "each chapter focuses on a character, but their stories are still very intertwined!", which I have no doubt is what's going to happen. I'm sure there will be some jokes that will require some keen observation throughout various episodes (this is AD after all), but I doubt that this will be an "unless you're willing to jump from episode to episode trying to make sense of the story you won't get any enjoyment out of the new season" kind of deal or something like that. I'm pretty sure the show will make lots of sense if episodes are watched one by one even if watching in order isn't strictly chronologically ordered.

I think I'll watch 1-15 first, taking my time, and then revisit the season several times for the more obscure jokes. You know, exactly like I did with the first 3 seasons. I see nothing wrong in watching one per day to maximize the pleasure.

Why is "Pet Groomers" on the same page as (and listed after) "Private Investigators"?

I'll tell you why!

More like 3 seasons of The Office.

And I'm currently in season 3 of Community and it's kinda eh. It kind of feels like something is off about everyone.
Wait until you get to season 4. It's a rollercoaster of a time from 3 through 4. But from what we've seen these past few weeks, it's worth the ride.
IMHO

While this sounds disappointing, I can actually see how it would work and really have no problem with it.

Very excited :D
So is Franklin!

When I switched to netflix today on my roku, Arrested Development had a different image than the current one for a couple seconds, then reloaded back to its current state. The first image I saw had imagery from the newer advertisements and made me think it's what will show up once the new season is out. Why would it have done that?

I feel like the cross references between all the episodes are going to be insane because of the format they are doing, which is a good thing for multiple viewings.

Yep, it's got the Netflix exclusive extras with Cast Bios and new pictures, looks awesome.

Gonna make it a lot of fun :D

Perhaps someone can clarify this: Does "tranny" really have the same negative connotation as "faggot"? I'd think tranny is just a shortened version of "transsexual" or "transvestite" but it doesn't sound like it would be an insult, more of a descriptor. Faggot obviously is slang meant to be deragatory.
Apparently "tranny" has similar negative connotations due to porn and the contexts in which the word is used (always negative).

That advertisement sounds terrible, though. Whoever they've hired should stay away from trying to create new concepts. Stick to the familiar buzz words.

I have something Arrested Development S4 noted in my agenda today (May 4th) but I completely forgot what. Anything happening? Trailer or something?

"Tranny" is a derogatory term. It's kind of in the same field as calling a lesbian a "dyke." It's the one thing in Arrested Development that kind of irked me, though I don't blame the show for taking place in the early 00's (they made fun of homosexuality pretty handily throughout, not deliberately out of malice but all the connotations were implicitly negative). I suppose the easiest analogy would be to the use of "blackie" back in the early 20th century; while it's simply a morphed version of "black" (just like "tranny" is to "transsexual") it's still kind of an assy thing to say.

Also "transvestite" is out. lol

There's a difference between making fun of homosexuality and finding humor in it (and its culture), and I don't think the show really ever crosses the line. Barry/Tobias are the butt of a lot of jokes, but in both cases it's because they both have a form of repression going on.

Modesty becomes a woman
It just seems like reaching. People should always look if there's malice behind a word or not, that's what really matters. Pretty much every insult will have some second-hand offense. Otherwise we couldn't use dumb or stupid even.

I'm offended that the joke isn't even funny. He wasn't crossdressing, he was just wearing whatever clean clothes he could find.

Michael finds his original solace and inspiration to leave the family thanks to a boat full of gay men. While some of the characters may have made comments about them, Michael (and the show) didn't.

(I was really tempted to make a semen joke, but I couldn't put it together and ended up not caring enough)

This is awesome.

If you call it first WITHOUT texting ANN to the number first, it says: "Why don't you and Plant just wait in the stair car?"

Also, if you do text "COME ON", back to that number to unsubscribe, you get an awesome Gob related quote that I won't spoil for you guys. ;)
