Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
I know, this is a widespread problem, but it's seriously getting to me lately. When I was younger I always plowed through games, even at huge difficulty walls that left me frustrated or angry. These days, when I'm trying to juggle work and recreation, I can't seem to bring myself to jump over any of the walls I hit. Two recent examples:
FFX HD - Boss after Kimahri's village is seemingly super cheap, no desire to continue
Metroid Prime 2 - I got lost, compulsive need for at least ~90% completion overwhelms me, stupid fish boss killed me a couple times
Other times, if the game proves to be too time consuming or tedious, I no longer have the patience to soldier through it. Assassin's Creed IV and its repetitive gameplay did this to me, Persona 4 Golden and its occasional need to grind did this, Wild Arms and getting stumped on certain puzzles did this. Other times my interest will taper off for completely unrelated reasons, even if I do like the game a lot (Darksiders 2 comes to mind).
I only make this topic because I know that while it's a common issue, it's not a problem for everyone. I have friends who are achievement obsessed and go through every nook and cranny like it's nothing. I have friends who play every game on the hardest difficulty and do so multiple times. I have friends who play through games in their limited free time and still manage to 100% them, sometimes more than once.
If you're one of those people, where does your "spark" come from? What is motivating you to finish the games you play? It's really unsatisfying to have a pile of started-yet-unfinished games in my backlog.
