Assassin's Creed - Movie Trailer

This Animus probably makes more sense. I mean, it's a nonsensical machine, but simply having vivid dreams wouldn't exercise you enough to be able to physically pull off what an Assassin's Creed assassin would be able to.

Yep, that looks like Assassin's Creed alright, but the trailer did nothing to convince me that this could be a good movie. It was just a collection of Assassin's Creedy things. Hopefully the next trailer we get will be stronger.

Aside from the music begin AWFUL that was a really good trailer. The films actually looks and sounds fantastic. Seems like they're sticking quite close to the story of the original game. Modern day guy get kidnapped by Abstergo so they can use him to witness his ancestors memories because he knows something important. I like the new animus, like a giant Glados arm. Visually, it's better than just someone laying down on a slab with a vr style headset. Fassbender looks pretty awesome. The fighting was on point, the parkour was on point. I didn't think it would look this good. I like it. I'm in.

I actually got pretty hype for the film because of the song choice lol. Not sure why all the hate but to each their own. Pretty barebone plot it seems, but we'll see; Magneto as Altaïr should save it.

Well that was the least fitting music for the trailer. The Woodkid song used in the Revelations trailer would have fit well.

Trailer didn't reveal enough about the setup, a lot of us here can easily understand it, but a person who has not played the games would probably wonder "what exactly is he trying to accomplish in the past?"

1 - It's a teaser trailer. Introducing the general concept of the movie that Abstergo have technology that lets someone step into the shoes of an ancestor via genetic memory.
2 - It's better than showing all the major plot points.

I loved the visuals but didn't like the music. So I did the only sensible thing: I spent the last 2 hours recutting the trailer.

Assassin's Creed Trailer - Woodkid Edition

There are a whole lot of very small cuts to make the footage fit the music, I changed the order of a few clips etc. etc. Has a really harsh audio cut in the middle, but I figured, eh, good enough :P

It's a shame the movie is set in Spain, I really wanted an AC game set in Spain.

Yeah no kidding! Maybe the movie is meant to set up the next game for Spain....perhaps. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they do Japan like I've seen suggested or heard on gaming podcasts as a "wish list".

Did you take the best part of the trailer out (the leap of faith)? Seems like a weird choice.

Just put it in the middle of the trailer instead of the end ;) I decided to rearrange/shorten a few scenes simply to make it fit the music a little better.

The trailer looks alright visually, can't say much more than that. Sure the trailer focuses on fighting and parkour, but the games are a bit more than that, mainly history (virtual tourism) and the story you as a character interact in.
I guess the hard part to capture well is the spectacle and marvel you as a player get when traversing through an historic city and seeing the beauty it holds. For the character in the movie it's just normality while in 'past' segments.

That was pretty cool. Probably about as good of a job as you could do with that footage.

It was moved to 1:20.

Why does she keep her arms out for so long after hitting the guys

Why do baseball players stand and pose while they watch a home run? Why do golfers hold their pose after hitting a good shot....Cool Pose Bro! It is there to look cool, and she is looking at someone after the fact so....intimidation?

Love the music choice. Would have been better if they just had played the beat and the sample though.

The Movie looks good. Not really sure yet though.

He's probably jumping into water or something else at the end because apparently there are no hay stacks in the movie, I think it's fine, it would be a bit silly, and they're still sticking a lot to the source material, let them take some liberties.

Also loving more and more the new Animus, it makes a lot of sense and it seems like Ubisoft is interested in using it in the games by the article, lots more interesting stuff to read there.

I was hoping it would be set in France so that they could include the "hurry up with my damn croissants" line in that Kanye song.

Grow up mate.

Personally I hated the music - it doesn't fit with the theme or the time it's set in (the past).

I don't hate the music, it was just a poor choice and didn't fit the trailer. Totally jarring and took away from what I thought was a solid action trailer up until that point.

Pretty sure that's the animus . No longer do You sit in a chair you have to strap a big robotic arm to your back .

My guess is 70 percent of the movie will be him training in real world to prepare himself for entering the matrix / animus

You see it in a few shots , training to shoot an arrow , the hero landing (thanks deadpool) and a few other shots .

I think they wanted to incorporate the bleeding effect from the games in a way that actually makes sense. Desmond was sitting in the animus for hours every day for weeks after working as a bartender, so relivimg the memories of his ancestors shouldn't grant him the strength and endurance needed to do all the Assassin stuff.

Looks like in the movie the person plugged in to the Animus is actually repeating things their ancestor does 1:1. I bet the blades and the bow are just used as props here and Cal sees what Aguilar sees.

Looks alright, I like kanye but yeah lmao at the song choice it didn't fit at allll..
let's see how the movie turns out tho, I'm curious

I like the movie Animus more than the games' one, trailer looked alright, bad song choice, but looked decent enough.

Did kinda look like the present time stuff was actually in the future, though could just be a retcon I suppose.
