There have been some leaks but nothing definitive.Any news on how they are going to handle the future sections in this one?
Yes. You first need to sleep it tho and then tame it and it will follow you.
Yes you can do that
1) Put the hippo to sleep
2)Tame it
3) Have it follow you to an enemy group
4)Take a torch and throw it at the hippo, or drop it on the ground, light your arrows on fire and shoot the hippo
Looks beautiful, although I must mention that the Ptolemies didn't have the technology to built some of those structures, namely the interior of the library.
lol, now they are calling AC: Origins an "RPG".
Oh god....
I was wondering if it was that or something was up with the audio mixing in a separate video where he had the face wrap on.
That is such a good detail.
Thank you Based Ashraf.
If Ubi decides to not release AC annually after origins (which is unlikely since Ubi Quebec is probably making their own AC now) , I hope Ash becomes the permanent Creative Director on AC. He is one of the most genuine people I have seen at the helm of a game, ever since I watched some of his interviews for AC4.

Funnily enough it looks like a lot of the visual inspiration for this game comes from classical depictionss of Egypt. if that's meant to be Alexandria, it's straight out of this Camuccini painting:
I ain't mad, that's a pretty fitting way to design a world that takes place inside a machine that puts together memories (and from the looks of things, includes fantasy elements now)
They actually confirmed that there's a photomode now. It's a good looking game.
Hopefully there's no bullshit cheat prevention shenanigans preventing us from making freecam tools like there was in Unity.
That's a possible inspiration, although the architecture in this paitings probably have much more to do with the reality of Europe of those times than ancient Egypt itself.
Alexandria would've looked more like a Greek than an Egyptian city and later Roman architecture was heavily influenced by Alexandrian architecture (it's just that the original Alexandrian examples are destroyed today). (I'm not disagreeing or agreeing on the library ceiling being impossible for the Potelmies to construct - I don't actually know enough about the limits of their engineering skills to judge that - but Alexandria looking like a European city is historically accurate.)
EDIT: Oops, sorry. I misread your post. You meant European architecture at the time those paintings were painted.
Are we watching the same footage?
I think one of the major concerns was the ability to assassinate higher level enemies which wouldn't be possible due to the level difference. Though I found out today that it's actually possible. Here's level 13 Bayek assassinating a level 15 commander target. Though I admit that I haven't finished watching it.
Well to be fair 2 levels is not much of a difference. I remember in some videos where the difference was like 5+ it was impossible.
It depends on how much you've upgraded your hidden blade.
Love how arcady the combat looks.
Props to the team for prioritizing how it plays more then how it looks.
Yep prioritising Gameplay is a major plus forget being super grounded and 'realistic' it's all about making the gameplay fun to play and feel
You can not do this to enemies that are a certain level higher then you. The attempt will always fail and they'll block the attempt.
I see. But still, if you encounter enemies 5 level higher than you, perhaps you're wandering into an area that you're not supposed to go yet. This is an RPG, after all.
Humpf... The more i see the new combat mechanic, the less i'm hyped for this game.
What i like in the franchise is the nice synced animations and the fact that your weapons feels somewhat deadly and that you never encounter enemies with huge health pool that takes ages to go through. Weirdly, it felt "realistic" (yeah, i know, weird thing to say for this franchise).
But now, in Origins, we get loot everywhere, we loose the synced animations, we get bosses with huge health pools that takes ages to go through, and we get a awful looking combat dash/dodge/teleport that defies the laws of physics.
That's... Not an Assassin's Creed game. It's a Witcher 3 clone with parkour and an Assassin's Creed skin in the setting i've always wanted to play an AC game in.
Sooooooo disapointed... I'll play it eventually but i'm not really eager to... I'm not against the idea of making Witcher 3 clones, i love that game as much as everyone else and would like to see other games like this. Just not Assassin's Creed...
Agreed %100.
The game looks(visually) incredible. The combat changes are disappointing (imo)
This is painful to see/read
I must be in the minority but the combat/stealth/rpg system this time around is just not for me.
Unable to stealth kill due to level?? The blade/weapon must be sharpened(upgraded) to penetrate flesh? Obviously this is influence based on the new level/rpg system. Clearly lots of people seem to like this change but damn...it might be a deal breaker for me.

Indeed I did. Although I'd have to ask just how later Roman architecture was heavily influence by Alenxadria.
The source I originally got that from is a book so I can only link you to Google Books' preview version of that (hopefully there's enough of the passage in question available in the preview to explain it): https://books.google.de/books?id=KF...architecture pompeii petra alexandria&f=false
I'll try to quickly summarise it, though it's been some time since I last read up on it so some of this may be a bit off: I'm not sure if saying "heavily" is overselling it a bit or not but essentially, quite a few architectural innovations were born in Alexandria which were later attributed to the Romans (as relatively little architectural evidence had survived from ancient Alexandria). Alexandrian architects were in all likelihood the first to mix the classical orders, essentially inventing what we'd now call the composite order and many of the architectural elements that go along with it (certain capital shapes, pediment shapes like the broken pediment and other entablature styles, etc). The way we know this (in addition to some of the surviving remnants of Alexandrian structures) is that many of these elements can be seen in frescoes in Pompeii, as well as in structures in Petra (Jordan) (like the famous "Treasury") even though both the frescoes as well as the structures were created before these elements/styles had made their way into Roman architecture meaning that there must've been a common source for them. It's now pretty much established that that source was Alexandria. The frescoes in Pompeii were likely (not sure if this is known for a fact or not) painted by Alexandrian artists and the Nabataeans possibly hired Alexandrian architects to work on some of their structures.
Gratitude for the answer, dude.
Architecture elements like that can be hard to trace indeed, but I was thinking more in the lines of structural engineering. When we see the Great Library it has groin vault ceilings, which wasn't known to the greeks and hellenistic kingdoms, at least not in any meaningful capacity. They were quite limited in that actually. The Library's ceiling looks much more like later Roman baths than any structure of the time.
I'm replaying Brotherhood right now and I was noticing how the tombs make no sense, but are fun as hell to play. Sometimes in games you have to make those choices.
If its tamed.
Do we know if the game will have optional dialog?
Sequel? Well, at least she doesn't die. I was so ready. And dissapointed. They announced a sequel comic book.
Do you mean dialogue choices? Yes.
Whether they'll impact the story or related quest, I'm not sure.

Source please? which video is that?
Idk why but I LOVE Hyenas, they're among my fav animals. I just find them beautiful.
Come ooon!We don't know if that's Aya.
Perhaps that tells us how the game is balanced and what its mechanics encourage if most people lean towards combatWhy is almost nobody playing this game stealthily?
I mean ok I get it combat is reworked from the ground up and resembles an rpg now, but seriously can someone play the game as an assassin for a change? All I see is people playing as if you are some kind of gladiator.

I really effin hope that stealth will still be viable and not just an afterthought bc game is balanced towards melee combat. Although we already know stealth will suffer bc no more OHKO with our hidden blade,at least against higher level enemies.
Whatever happened to that claim ubi made about their games not having a natural story any more, and being world or mission based? I thought they wanted to steer away from traditional narratives as they thought it was hindering their games.

That would be fantastic actually. The weird stuff will probably be illusions (pieces of Eden, dreams, or heat exaustion) as it has always been in AC games.
I think each major member of the Order of the Ancients has his piece Eden and will use it to create an illusion, and this illusion will be weird abilities and/or a huge monster. I mean, look at their names: The Crocodile, The Lizard, The Scarab... I'm sure one of them is called The Snake (Medunamun) and he'll be the one who creates the illusion we've seen in the E3 trailer.
