Who wants to be the first person to take the plunge on Foxtel Now and let the rest of us know if the On Demand episode is up yet (it should have aired at 11am today and gone into one demand after that), and whether it's higher than 720p?
If nobody's done it by like 9pm I'll probably be doing so.
From the late 80s the 2 working parent family has been the norm. It's just an economic necessity.
Kids get raised in childcare. Parents rely on takeout and pre-packaged food rather than teaching kids how to cook. Parents don't have the time or energy to be parents so they plug their kids into ipads and tvs.
No wonder young people are getting, fatter, dumber, vainer and more socially reliant on technology. We gained so much when women left the traditional mothering roles but we also lost a hell of a lot.
EDIT: Seriously, even if I'm still in a free trial period, this is just unacceptable. I was prepared to wait until 9pm to watch, because that's basically what I was going to do anyway, but it not being available at that time because they have to appease the old people who can't use technology and who make appointments to watch TV shows is just ludicrous.
We are devastated that due to unprecedented demand, we are experiencing problems with our online services this evening. Obviously this comes at a time when so many of our customers are wanting to watch the first episode of season 7 of Game of Thrones.
We can assure you that we are doing everything we can to resolve these problems.
We can also assure customers that as soon as the issue is resolved they will be able to watch the episode using the On Demand features of our service.
We will keep you updated as we seek to resolve the problem.
Again Foxtel apologises for the frustration this situation has caused.
Didn't even realise it was him until my wife pointed him out. But hey, he at least made GRRM's Hands of Gold lyrics sound half decent. I didn't think there was any possible melody that could ever do that.
That cold opening - I realised what was happening as soon as Aria-as-Walder stood up, but damn was it ever satisfying.
So 720p live, 480p on demand immediately, 1080p on demand after a day or two? Or is the HD on demand just 720p too, despite what was said in that life hacker article?
This shit shouldn't be this hard to figure out. It shouldn't take experimentation, forum posts, and scanning twitter feeds to figure out. But it does, apparently
It's beyond funny that after all of this constant talk about how Australia is the biggest pirate market for game of thrones, people who went to the effort of paying for it couldn't watch it, but pirates could. And in better quality. This was their big moment, and they blew it.
