like it's not a competition to say the most controversial thing, man
yeah, man, i definitely haven't seen you compete in anything that could be considered that.
*sending some positive vibes just so you know I hope we're cool*

I'm looking at a picture of an ape riding a horse right now. This is the stupidest thing I've ever laid eyes on.
Lol, you have a lot of faith that people didn't lose enthusiasm since the first movie. Good luck with that I guess.
So.... do we think Avatar 2 or Avatar 4 will be the first movie to break $3 billion?
Sounds like an informed opinion!I've not seen Avatar, won't be seeing the sequels. Looks utterly crap and got by on 3D momentum.
How heartbreaking would it be if Sam Worthington was killed off in the first sequel?
That's what I'm hoping
Wtf.
Never been an 'ugh, millenials' guy, but putting John Wick's action over T2 is some upside down kinda crazy.
PS: the Apes movies wouldn't be shit without Avatar inventing the performance capture tech that make them so memorable.
This is a good reminder that I should watch Avatar. Hopefully it's still good/great in 2D because I can't see 3D.
I think you'll find yourself in the minority on putting Apes' action over T2, but I'm definitely curious to hear your thoughts on why.I mean, the action is better. Like, unquestionably.
T2 is a better overall move though.
Oh my god.

48 fps is dead. 24 fps is the accepted language of cinema.
It's been 8 years since 2009 and ya'll still haven't thought of a 4th movie to lazily drop the name of to let everyone in the room know how creative and original you are.
And I didn't quote it, but someone also mentioned Smurfs, so that's covered too. Gimmick this, cultural relevance that. We've got a complete Avatar thread here.
Last Ang Lee movie was High Refresh rate as well and flopped. This is not something people care about.
Feel free to sub in John Wick and still find me perplexed. I want to know why you think Wick's action is better than T2's. It fascinates me in a way only Nietzsche can describe.Sculli, I'm worried about you. You're forgetting your own posts right after you post them.
You said John Wick's action, not Apes.

I haven't seen the original, but wasn't a lot of the hype at the time tied to it being 3D?

Just because the choreography is flashy don't make the action better.
The sequences in T2 are more hard hitting than anything in either John Wick movie.
So you're saying this thread has as much original thought put into it as Avatar's script
a hot take would be a quick kneejerk reaction to something before reading into it or understanding the background
this is a genuine informed opinion
Aren't the 2 upcoming avengers films (shot back-to-back) 500 million a piece?

James Cameron is pretty much the only director studios would trust to handle that much money.
Holy cow, that's a lot of coin.
Caeron quote from a while back.
Its not back-to-back. Its really all one big production. Its more the way you would shoot a miniseries. So well be shooting across all [Avatar scripts] simultaneously. So Monday I might be doing a scene from Movie Four, and Tuesday Im doing a scene from Movie One. Were working across, essentially, eight hours of story. Its going to be a big challenge to keep it all fixed in our minds, exactly where we are, across that story arc at any given point. Its going to be probably the most challenging thing Ive ever done. Im sure the actors will be challenged by that as well. Its like, No, no, no, no, this person hasnt died yet, so youre still in this phase of your life. Its a saga.
He's a mad man.

Before he brought in the four other writers to work on the four sequels, he wrote a 1500 page story document for what happens. He must have dreamed a lot about Pandora lately if he can fill four films with it. Holy crap.
Cause the first thing I did was sat for a year and wrote 1500 pages of notes of the world and the cultures and the different clans and different animals and different biomes and so on. And had a lot of loose thematic stuff that ran through that but I didnt a concrete story. I wanted to approach it more like, Guys were going to adapt a novel or series of novels. Because I felt that kind of detail, even if movies cant ever be that detailed it can be visually detailed, it cant be that detailed in terms of character and culture. But you always get this tip of the iceberg kind of thing. You sense its there off camera or in the past of the moment that youre seeing. So I felt that was the way to do it.
90's kids are millenials. Like the epitome of millenials.is this a 90s kid vs millenial thing
because you can find much better action even within the last few years
Better than him getting obsessed and needing Titanic 2.I genuinely don't understand his fascination with this particular film universe.
