Surely not the QTE fest that was Deathstroke. That was kinda awful.
Kept me on the edge of the seat more than any other bore fest of "run around the boss rolling, until he bangs his head against the explosive corner" or the Xth variation on "random minions gangbang waves".

AC's Mr.Freeze was the only other fight that had me sit up straight on the chair.

Naw man, the camera angle made it look so cool. Oh wait.
In a game that can be very button mashy (if you don't care about points) that fight forced you to pay attention to timing, for one.
Just like Freeze forced you to vary your predator approaches.

I replayed some of Arkham City tonight to get some of the Steam Achievements I missed and yeah the timing of the combat is so much better than Origins'. The enemies in Origins are way too aggressive; I could finish an entire fight with a mob of guys with just counters. In City, there is actually time between enemy attacks to increase my score (using gadgets, quick takedowns, and beatdowns).

The plot of Origins is better but there is no way I can ever say it's a better game than City. The combat of the game is not fun to play.

Not to mention the enemies that could start and finish an unblockable attack while you were in the middle of a counter animation.

The main thing was that took away the sound effect when you "finished" a guy in AA/AC. It was a powerful sound that felt good, but it also really told you "OK, he's done, don't have to worry about him anymore". For whatever idiotic reason, that isn't there in Origins, and with the all-new counter heavy/unblockable attack friendly badguys, you just feel like a fuckin' chump fighting these clowns, and wondering how much longer is this fight gonna go on.

Another thing that's dumb about Origins are the designs of the armored enemies. AC's designs intentionally made them stand out to differentiate them. I've hit so many of them in Origins without cape-stunning since they look exactly like the unarmored guys.

So, finally watched the trailer on Gamersyde. Can we get whoever made that trailer to just make a whole movie, or animated series instead of the current shitfest animated series

Also Harley looked great!

Easily the worst thing about the game

Not only did the KO sound provide useful feedback, but it just cemented how vanquished the bad guys were. so good

Well that i agree with.
The game lacked polish in basically every area.

I also didn't care much for those instagram colors.

This question always comes up with CGI trailers but when you think about it, doesn't make much financial sense. The movie would cost easily $200 million (look at what some CGI animated movies cost and they're not even photorealistic), and it would have to make $400 million total box office to break even. Do you really see that much success with such a niche market of people who like animated movies and also the photorealistic mature style where kids can't go therefore families are cut out who are usually a huge portion of the money making?

Grosses of photorealistic animated movies:
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
Production Budget: $137 million
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $32,131,830 37.7%
+ Foreign: $53,000,000 62.3%
= Worldwide: $85,131,830

Mars Needs Moms
Production Budget: $150 million
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $21,392,758 54.9%
+ Foreign: $17,600,000 45.1%
= Worldwide: $38,992,758

Only these movies made somewhat decent money, but they're also holiday movies and family friendly:
A Christmas Carol (2009)
Production Budget: $200 million
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $137,855,863 42.4%
+ Foreign: $187,430,783 57.6%
= Worldwide: $325,286,646

The Polar Express
Production Budget: $165 million
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $183,373,735 59.6%
+ Foreign: $124,140,582 40.4%
= Worldwide: $307,514,317

The only mature animated CGI movie that we were about to get was Goon, by Blur Studio, who have made many videogame CGI trailers that you love, but they needed a Kickstarter (not even David Fincher could entirely fund it) and this was only just for a story reel, not the actual movie's development.

Most of those trailer studios (like Blur) are actually quite small.
