Battlefield 6 | OT | Time to Sheikh things up.

Any notable updates beside more content?
Server browser, VoIP, squadmanagement, commander, net-code or similar?
vehicles have been reworked, gunplay (recoil etc) has been overhauled, for example recoil reduction has been reduced on console, so theyre not lock on lazer beams (believe it when i see it), a shit load of QoL fixes. netcode fixes

server broswer and prox chat will be later int he season

Looking forward to seeing what they've done with recoil. Hopefully these guns are less laser-beamy and more distinct from one another.

Prox chat is gonna be a massive waste of time when people start getting banned for saying something someone doesn't like.

But I played one match. Liked what I saw. My MBT didn't feel like a piece of shit unless using guided missiles. Which was nice. Can't wait to try out my Bradley.

Seems everyone was taking a break from the previous season

Cant wait to see how the youtube grifters will spin this

You realize that Season 2 had a 96K peak. So the current 74K is nothing special.
The peak for today should be reached within one hour or so. This is when BF6 always peaks.
Still, the peak for Season 3 should be during the weekend.

Golmud in Conquest feels like it did back in BF4. Finally, this is BF. Lots of tanks, AA, choppers and jets and vehicles that spawn at capture points not just at bases.

Golmud is the first map in the game to feel like proper Battlefield. It's especially refreshing to actually have space to fly when using aircraft and not be locked onto every second or end up out of bounds 5 seconds after taking off.

Only played a couple of matches but really liked Golmud.
Having a proper big map feels nice, the players get more spread out, and it doesn't feel like it's funneling everyone into this meatgrinder in the middle where you are constantly getting shot at from 24 different directions.

Can't say I noticed much of a difference in recoil, but I mostly use assault rifles.

They added random recoil to the guns instead of traditional normal vertical/horizontal recoil. It's pretty odd and not really what anyone expected or asked for.

The recoil increase is certainly nice, you aren't just instantly deleted from across the map by full autofire anymore and it requires some skill to kill enemies from mid+ distances which is nice. I imagine it will also change the meta where everyone was using the same 4-5 weapons that would delete you at any range.

Dunno, I don't like that they've changed how weapons act for the third time now or so. Every time I get used to them, they get changed completely.

Not really sure what this means. The recoil in this game has always been random. It never had that counter-strike set pattern thing.

I think I stopped playing BFV after one of the complete recoil reworks. Just decide what the game is and tweak for balance.

Great map but it feels like Golmund by name alone, it just doesn't feel like the classic map at all, but I haven't played it in a long time so I may just be forgetting. Either way I don't mind because I like it.

Well of course it's not the same baron landscape. They didn't have the horsepower back in the day.

It has a real battlefield feel to it and the train heading towards the enemy base when you capture is leading towards some intense prolonged exchanges.

13 minute mark. The VCR is one of the most negatively affected guns and I don't think its as bad as for the others, but as you can see even when burst firing the aiming recticle gets pulled in random directions.

Played a bit last night. Played Golmud the entire time.

I don't even think Golmud is an amazing map, but compared to most of the maps in BF6 it is.

It wasn't even close to being one of my favorite BF4 maps but it clears literally every other BF6 map.

I'm aware but nothing about it feels like that map, which is my point...why name it the same.

Strong disagree. The fight and map flow feel the same as it did in BF4.

The biggest difference is in the village. It has much more detail and "stuff" going on.

Besides that, they DID name it differently.

I know people love golmud but it's just vehicle on vehicle combat. And snipers. Infantry combat is at a minimum. I'm very much looking forward to grand bazaar though. Also, redsec hit reg seems way better than it was. Not sure if it's the patch or what, but it feels a lot better (aside from expected bugs from every god damn dice patch; for example ammo drops becoming armor drops)

I played some yesterday and was having terrible ping which has never been an issue for me. Like spikes up to like 300 bad. I'm excited to play more as Golmud is still great.

Played a round on the new map. Its really good. I can also feel the recoil changes. My lmg is not a laser anymore :)
The Ultimax is still a laser especially with a LPVO.

I gotta say I like the new battlepass progression system. Weekly challenges seem a little tougher than last season but this time you actually get a ton of points from XP which speeds up progression considerably. I used to get 1 to 2 points for every match (long modes) from XP last season, this season it's like 10 to 15 points just from xp every match.

You can do infantry combat on Golmud you just have to center your play around objectives D, E and F. Tanks that try to go there get wrecked by mines, C4 or launchers since they don't have much room to maneuver or escape. It's pretty safe from snipers too because of all the buildings.

Not sold on M16 burst mode. You don't get a very tight grouping. Even throwing the converter on there it just ain't it for long range. The full-auto upgrade works pretty nice though.

Don't have that much of an opinion on the new sniper except that the default muzzle velocity is painfully slow. I need like 2 more levels to get long-range ammo and the ADS rechamber, so I'll reserve final judgement. I'm more on range-finder these days than the rechamber so it'll be near level 40 before I consider it full power.

And the other RPK seems like a competent plinker, so maybe decent for Redsec, but also big lack of attachments for now.

I guess I thought you were saying they added a 'new' type of recoil. I'm sure they did increase recoil variation as part of the patch. But the VCR and TR-7 were always bad on that front. You can see it in the advanced in-game stats for the weapons but I don't remember any of the original values. The recoil magnitude for the KTS looks unchanged though if I recall, and the variation is still fairly negligible. But also hard to be sure, it reports in tenths of degrees and some attachments buff/debuff it in a way where it doesn't make the number (which is displayed in tenths of a degree) change.

Enders is slightly off with some of the details but his main point is more or less correct. I wouldn't say there's no skill element to 'random' recoil as reacquiring a target is a skill. And I think he oversells how 'skillful' dealing with spread is. You could convince me to do away with ADS spread completely before you convince me to set recoil variance to 0 (which I think in this particular game would turn recoil into a straight line, well straight-ish as vertical recoil 'settles' as you hold down your full auto in this game).
