Battlefield Hardline |OT| Battlefield FIVE-O

Well the game is out on EA Access and enjoying more now then I did at first. Hot Wire mode is the best mainly on Downtown and Derailed.
 
It's too bad Visceral had to make this a Battlefield game and not just their own cops and robbers new IP. They're talented folks, they could have handled it.

In the spirit of a perfectly executed heist, Battlefield Hardline is getting ready to pull something big. We’ve been operating in the shadows to bring every player a surprise in our upcoming update, and we’re finally ready to reveal our plan: Battlefield Hardline: Blackout is coming soon, and brings some significant content to all Battlefield Hardline players for free*.



Blackout will be included in the same download as the base game update, and everyone can expect to find new maps, guns, and gadgets (in addition to a host of improvements). This new content is organized under a central theme: the cloak of darkness. What happens when the lights go out, and criminal and police factions are forced to face off under the slimmest sliver of light? Find out yourself, with:

Two maps: Night Job and Night Woods (night versions of Bank Job and Backwoods)
1 new gadget: Night Vision Goggles
2 new weapons for all classes and factions: a new version of the RO933 and a new Battle Rifle
New music, camos, assignments, patches, and more


In addition, Spectator Mode has been given a tune-up, for all of those who like to watch their friends (or their favorite squads) pull off – or prevent – the perfect crime. Finally, check the forums when the update is released for our official patch notes, to learn all about the stability and usability improvements that will be included in this upcoming release.

Of course they had to.

They were using all of Battlefield's tech rather than writing everything from scratch. Probably slashed the development costs by more than a half.
 
I'm playing the SP right now and I think it's pretty fun. I looooooooove the customization of the guns in the campaign. It's really fun to try some combinations of guns to see what works best. I also really like to just use a handgun and go Jack Bauer on the ennemies.

Bad Company 2 is my favorite multiplayer shooter ever. I love everything about how it plays. One of these things is the fact that it has less focus on vehicule warfare than mainline games. One of the reasons I disliked Battlefield 3 was because it felt "too big" and too chaotic, while Bad Company 2 was more focused.

Does Hardline resemble more Bad Company 2 than Battlefield 3/4 or is it a litteral reskin of the last game like people say it is?

There is less going on due to less variety of vehicles but the time to kill is faster on shooting, so it feels sort of chaotic in that way.

It is a very fun diversion, and some of the different modes with hostages and such are a lot of fun. If you can find it super cheap,go for it, but the community is pretty dead and will likely cease to exist with Battlefront, Halo 5, and COD all on the horizon.

Should be safe on PS4 and XB1 for a while, other platforms its pretty dead yea.
 
I'm actually surprised by how much I liked this game. In terms of off-season shooter releases, this is the best. I felt the movement, aiming, and class system was a little too close to BF4 for it to really differentiate itself. But the TTK and maps being what they are, really sets it apart from BF4 enough.

holy shit, less than 1000 players on pc..

I should have bought this for PS4 instead of PC. I did enjoy it for a few weeks but went back to counter strike pretty quick.
 
Im more upset that visceral never updated any of the game type settings. 64 player TDM is still too much and one of main reasons I don't play this anymore.
 
It's been confirmed that November 3 is the day the patch and free night maps are going to be released! Can't wait!
 
Pretty telling when the official Battlefield Facebook page mostly posts videos and news of Battlefield 4 lol. I'd feel pretty burned if I bought Hardline just because of the player populations atm
 
Finally got around to finishing the SinglePlayer and I have to say I really liked it. Sure the story had been done before but the voice actors did a good job and it was a fun ride. I hope Visceral will get to make another.

Yeah I'm on episode 5 right now and I'm really enjoying it.

Yeah, the DLC is unfortunately dead for this game. Thankfully you don't need to play on the DLC maps to get them (except the Bounty hunter ones which at this point are pretty much impossible since I haven't seen an active Bounty hunter game in months). The 10k kills one for each class is what took the longest. Fucking visceral, such a ridiculous goal for shitty bronze trophies. It's a good thing I really enjoy this game a lot, otherwise fuck that.
 
I plan on playing the new maps immediately when they are available to be sure to get enough enjoyment out of them. I wish EA would just upgrade all versions to premium.

Visceral just needs to release the DLC expansions free at this point. I also got premium and the new DLC servers are only active for about two weeks and then die down. Even if you can find a server after the first two weeks, it'll just be conquest large. Forget about the other exclusive modes to this game that are way better having an active server.

Just like visceral did with blackout, they should just make criminal activity and robbery free and make them a forced download so that they get added to the default map rotation.

It really sucks seeing my go to MP game on PS4 die slowly and watching Visceral do nothing to save it. They don't even post on their official forums. It's awful. ;/

Yeah that's a bummer because I enjoyed the game for quite some time once it was released. Even pulled a couple all nighters grinding to get the wolf mask. Once I got it I stopped playing shortly after.
