Battlefield Hardline |OT| Battlefield FIVE-O

I just jumped back into Hardline this week. Was surprised how much fun I was having - good mix of modes, only problem is I'm far behind the curve in terms of rank/unlocks so I'm getting smoked pretty easily.

Will probably stick with it for a bit as the different modes are cool.
 
I played Hardline a lot after launch. Campaign was trash, as always, but the new MP Heist Mode was fantastic imo. Tried to get back to the game some weeks after the first DLC dropped, but could never, absolutely never, get a Heist game running on the new maps. Conquest was possible, but not interested. Did it improve or is the community only playing vanilla maps (XB1 EU)?

It is a shame that the game bombed so hard. I really liked the Heist MP. The MP was good particularly as it left the usual Battlefield Formula and tried something "new". Hardline should have come as a new IP without Battlefield in the name. In the end I believe the Battlefield brand hurt the game, marketing wise and even content wise. Too many things are still too similar to BF, while they missed the chance to go full on out on an stand alone concept.
 
Unfortunately, the DLC is only popular for conquest large and even then, there's only a few servers running them. I love Heist and it's my favorite mode so I know that feeling of never experiencing it on the DLC maps. When betrayal was released, there was quite a few servers going for it, but it was honestly because there was trophies/achievements for playing heist on those maps. Now? No more betrayal heist server or any DLC heist servers for that matter.

The game is dwindling down in population every day, which is very unfortunate because the game is fun and the modes exclusive to Hardline like heist and blood money make this game so fun. Definitely an underrated hidden gem MP that gets undeserved hate imo.

Did the changes that were made for BF4 make it into Hardline? I noticed Conquest Small (32 players) servers were running at 30hz compared to BF4's 45hz.
 
sweet jesus fucking christ. Just signed up for EA Origin access for $5 so i can try out some of their games. 30 minutes into Hardline I see a dead guy standing up with his gun floating in the air. No biggie.

Then I get to the part where Khai gets shot and the game freezes cause I can't apply pressure to her wound. I mean the game has been out for over a year and there's still game stopping bugs that haven't been patched.

Why the fuck do people still play EA games?

I know it's hard to believe, but Battlefield 4 is actually good now, like one of the best if not the best one they've made.

They seem to only care about fixing multiplayer bugs.
 
Looks like the next free DLC will be the second to last one, Getaway! It's an amazing DLC map pack, so make sure you guys get it!
 
EA Access really is a god send when you play Battlefield games when you're curious. All that Premium edition content to your heart's desire. Played a lot of Hardline today, to try it out and I was having a lot of fun. It's a ghost town on Heist maps, but Conquest is still really good.

If all you wanna do is play battlefield for a couple of months, EA/Origin Access is just insane value.
 
This game is currently on sale for less than $5 on PS4 and Xbone. If you were on the fence, this is a pretty good price for it! It's really underrated when it's a ton of fun IMO.
 
Haven't played a lot of battlefield lately, but I when I do I play BF4. Decided to boot up hardline for the first time in like 9 months. It's still pretty fun. Got called a cheater in my second match. Good stuff.
 
Criminal Activity is free on PSN! Should be up on Xbox too! I read that it was also available on Origin a few days ago too for PC.

Grab it while it's hot and let's try to get some Bounty Hunter games going!

How is the player base on ps4? I've been thinking about going back on and off and now that I basically have all the dlc stuff it makes sense assuming there are people still on at least.

PS4 has the highest player base and you'll definitely find DLC servers if you enjoy conquest large. If you enjoy the other modes, the DLC maps aren't that populated IMO.

It's a shame, especially when map packs like Getaway are largely designed for modes like Hotwire.

Agreed. It really sucks. The only way visceral can fix this is if they made all the DLC maps free for everyone (not this timed exclusive stuff) and a mandatory download for everyone that plays. Then we would see all modes get the same treatment with the new maps!

Finally figured out how to play Blood Money well, anyway.

How you'd rate it, why you rated it that way, etc. I wrote too long of a reply (400 characters max) so I figured I'd post my full reply here in the event that someone from EA or Visceral read it as I don't want it to go to waste by deleting my long ass reply lol

I scored it because I really enjoy this iteration of Battlefield. I feel that it perfects the infantry gameplay that I love about the battlefield series. The vehicles don't feel overpowered or underpowered like they do in BF4 and any class can stand against them which is very nice. The small additions like running faster with your pistol is something that is very welcomed too. The urban setting with cops vs robbers I also enjoy, which I know a lot of people didn't. Interrogating people is also one of the greatest additions to the battlefield experience along with the awesome melee animations. Playing songs when you're driving is just the best and I wish visceral had released new tracks for every DLC update because whoever was in charge of selecting the music for this game has great taste!

Let's move on the best part though: the exclusive modes like heist, blood money, hotwire, rescue/crosshair. These modes IMO are the best part of Hardline. Heist is my favorite mode I've ever played in Battlefield because it's very tense when two teams are giving it their all. I'm ranked #1 in all platforms for heist grand larceny coins, so that should tell you how much I LOVE heist.

If one thing that is a shame is that people sleep on this game because of all the YouTube people who somehow brainwashed the masses into believing that this game is bad when it isn't. It's amazing at what it does and I've seen this happen countless of times: people try it out and end up enjoying it.

I hope you give it a sequel, EA. I and my friends would buy it day 1 as long as you keep and improve those exclusive hardline modes.

Gotta disagree on the infantry combat being good. They completely blew it with the massive damage drop off at range and near instant TTK up close. If it wasn't for that the game would be ok but as it is now it has some of the least satisfying gunplay around.

Shame I didn't get this email. I absolutely loved Battlefield Hardline, much better than 3 and 4 for me.
