Does anyone remember when D'anna was down on the eye of jupiter planet and she saw 5 people in white outfits? i think they were models of the final 5 cylons. She looked one in the face and said 'it's you!' and apologized. Whoever this is is the final cylon. We just need to figure out who she knows from the BSG crew.

As an aside, I think you can make out Tigh's face on one of the 5 cylons in that scene. I think you can also make out Anders as well. The one that Deanna sees up front does not necessarily have to be the 5th.

No it's not. Check the link Killthee posted earlier.
Interesting - from the one in the OP it looks like D'anna, but in the bigger one it's a 6. Cool picture - the style looks a lot like Renaissance art because of the groups of three characters together. It reminds me a lot of The Last Supper, but there are only 12 people and there's no Jesus in the middle. Maybe the 5th cylon is missing? :/

Just finished watching Razor on dvd. Interesting stuff with the warning about Kara and everything that the Hybrid was saying. There's an even longer monologue from him in the deleted/extended scenes that lays a bit more out - did anyone else watch that?

I think that was the point. At least, that's how I interpreted it.

Can't wait til Friday. I watched all the seasons during Christmas Break. Sooo good. :D

According to the link posted earlier, the fifth cylon has
a space at the table in that picture, between Apollo and Tigh, where there is a goblet and an empty seat, thus meaning that none of the people in the picture are the final cylon - Starbuck included
.

In the image explanation link, Ron Moore
confirms that the 5th Cylon is indeed missing from the image.

Ah, thanks for the explanation, everyone. I didn't read the image explanation link for fear of spoilers, but it's good to confirm a few things about it.

jon bones

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
I always thought they made a ton of Gaius Baltar - Jesus Christ references towards the end... First the obvious hair/beard combo... then when he's being interrogated, he's floating in a cross-like position and when he's being escorted away at the end by the people who think he's the messiah (!), they drape a red cloth around his head...

That's good news.
Everyone whom I didn't want to be the 5th cylon is in the pic. :)

I don't think that's any sort of spoiler, but better safe than sorry.

Gaius being the 5th would make perfect sense, especially in that image given his "bride" would be by his side.

Gaius or Roslin would both make sense since they have both had visions.

I still say Starbuck is Cylon 13.

Apparently that gap between Tigh and Apollo is where the fifth cylon will be.

You know, a great april fools joke from the battlestar crew would have been a redo of the final few scenes of season 3 episode with the rickroll song...

OP please add this link to op.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxjdcAibnoo
there was a thread about it, but in case anyone missed the top 10 reasons to watch season 4 (as presented by the cast)

Earlier in the episode...
Tyrol (mumbling): "Never gonna let you down"
Anders: "Never gonna say goodbye"

So the last Cyclon is either Gaeda or Apollo1 (Richard Hatch the actor that played Apollo in the original series)!

Edit: Make that Apollo1

I joined for Erin Brockovich discussion
Or Dee. You know, empty space next to Lee. I'm feeling it's either her, or Ellen was the 5th.

Yeah I think Gaeda as well. D'anna would have known he personally as Baltar's aide, hence the 'it's you!' quote on seeing their face.

So they are spliting the final season into two parts 08 and 09 or is this a dirty rumor?
Not a rumour. They've only just started filming the final 9 episodes. They had only written the first 11 before the writers strike began.

As for the fifth cylon? I'll throw in my guess: either Cain or Kendra.

EDIT: Or Roslin.

Eh, Gaeda would just be too obvious. He's been a pick for a Cylon by fans since season 1.

I would hope the writers try to be a little more subtle, but not as just out of the blue as the reveals at the end of last season. Ty a Cylon?! Ty? Come the fuck on, that just smacks of forced plot twist.

I dont like the fact that Tyrol looks pissed off and Cally in nowhere to be seen. They better not hurt her!!

Per the explanation of one of the producers--Tyrol's baby is indeed a hybrid and we should think of him holding the knife in that context.

Which can mean he either wants to kill the baby (maybe due Cylon programming but more than likely guilt/anger over being a Cylon) or needs to defend the baby from someone/something else.

Either way, per the interview I read, the Chief "will have a rough time of it" in Season 4.

As for Cally---maybe she kills herself when she finds out about Chief.

So much speculation from one photo. Cally really is just a side character and doesn't belong in this photo. There are plenty of others not in there as well, and I think it's a stretch to read too much into that.

Well, the Chief stuff is from that link right above your post, right from Moore's mouth. I was trying to figure out why he'd be holding a knife "in that context".

The Cally stuff, yeah, is pure speculation. I happen to think she'd never try to off herself since she's all about her baby now.

Since I suppose Moore's comments/hints could be spoiler-ish..

Sharon and Helo -
reacting to Tyrol? or to Roslin? He says Roslin is burning something important..

Right. I know where the chief speculation is coming form. Still think it might be looking too deeply into one photo.

And I hadn't noticed the Prez was burning something. Gimme like 5 minutes and I'll start pulling shit out my ass to explain what that means as well.

I was wondering about that too, and I think
Tigh and the new Six are the only possible options. I think Roslin's more about exchanging loving looks with Adama. The rest are looking away or are locked into their own little world (like Baltar, or Starbuck/Anders). It also looks like Six 2 is pointing at Helo and Sharon -- Starbuck/Anders/Chief are miles away, and nobody can see Baltar's Six.

What popped into my head was that Helo looks pretty pissed, and the new Six looks all accusatory. Some specific tension regarding Helo's mutant baby and a new Cylon faction?

"Forget it, he's rolling."

Regarding the 5th cylon - I'd guess that it's someone that's still alive, otherwise it'd be pretty anti-climactic. (e.g. if it turned out that it was Ellen.)

neojubei

Will drop pants for Sony.
Starbuck's and her husband's tattoos are missing...hmmm

The six on the left can see the six in the middle of the pic hence her pointing at her, so this means that the six on galatica can probably now see baltar's six that is in his mind.

I had been thinking about something similar. The cylons have had a plan all along and I have always suspected that it had something to do with earth itself and trying to perhaps get plausible humans to breach their defenses so they could attack - but then I thought that ending would be too cliche and cheese filled as well as completely tossing all of the character development and purpose they'd built all this time.

But, it does fit. Kyra gets them to actually go to earth - they convince the folks there to let them in. The cylons then use that as a way to destroy humanity. "It has happened before and it will happen again" as the cylons keep running this experiment until they get plausible humans.

So while I keep thinking that's one of the 3 plausible endings in my head, I kinda hope it doesn't come to that.

You have the writer's strike to thank for that.

There always was a plan to break the season in two (rumors of it happening go as far back as last Sept.), if anything, we should be thankful that the strike gave the writers extra time to examine the latter half of the season.

There always was a plan for Sci Fi Channel to split the airing of the final 20 episodes in two. But, because of the break in production, Moore and his fellow writers have had an opportunity to rethink a lot of decisions they made early on about the back half of season four (the airdates for which haven't yet been determined).

"We decided to revisit some of the episodes that we broke before the strike," Moore says, "and thought, 'No, we're going to change our minds about that.' We had some time to think about things. Some of the things we were planning weren't working as well, so we had a chance to reassess."

As to whether he's happy about this, Moore says, "Yeah, I'm happy that we got a chance to revisit things. Typically the writers don't get a break in the middle of the season to re-evaluate. You make a lot of decisions about where you're going, then you get really focused on getting there.

"The strike gave us a chance to step back and look at the big picture a second time, which is a luxury that you don't usually have. I know that it's going to be better as a result."

Of course the rumors go back that far. They knew the strike was looming. They wouldn't have broken the series into two like this otherwise. Strike started in November I believe, but they knew it was coming for months.

There's a potentially very telling scene in Razor when the crew first examines the old/obsolete Cylon Raider that crashes onboard and Athena (Boomer?) explains that they were part of the initial (first) model Centurions known as Guardians built to protect the very first hybrid.

They intentionally show a close-up of Saul during the mention of this, as Athena is speaking. You can even see him give a slight reaction to it. So maybe the final 5 are indeed the first 5, as someone here mentioned, and Kara is the very first hybrid, now in adulthood.

Someone check out that scene and let me know what you think. It totally seemed like they zoomed to Saul on purpose at the very mention of the Guardians and in fact, he's the only person they show a close up of who doesn't respond to Athena (Kendra being the only other one to reply).

Gods. I really can't wait till tomorrow night.

I might take another look at a few scenes from Razor tonight. There's a lot of good discussion fodder hidden in the episode.

Do some cylons age more slowly than others, then?

In fact, how do cylons age?

We know Tigh had to have aged. Maybe the process varies per-Cylon. Some age, some don't, some age more slowly etc.

If it was the case that the first of any model started as a baby, and they all grew at the same rate, then presumably Cavel would be the first. Then, perhaps, Tigh.

If Kara was the first, then that means there may be much older versions of Kara milling about on some basestar somewhere. But...so far all the cylons of a particular model have been of the same age, as far as we can see.

The first hybrid was shown in Razor. The hybrids aren't children of humans and cylons, the hybrids are the ones that sleep in tubs and run the cylon ships.

It's on SciFiHD tomorrow night. It's typically a few months(?) before the HD reruns show up on UniHD.

Right. And they air them in a seemingly arbitrary order. I've never seen any sequential episodes on UHD.

They use to play them in order. But I think since they've run through the entire series, now they just play random re-runs.

I re-watched much of the series on UHD when it was the only way to see BSG in HD.
