People are trashing the movie based on pictures that hint towards a faithful adaptation of a horribly written video game.
Are visible script pages lurking in these photos and I just missed them somehow?
Being pessimistic is fine, and probably smart because it's a movie of a video game. But the level of over-reading into things from some of you is hilarious. All we know from these photos is at one point in the film she has a similar costume as reboot Lara and is on a wrecked plane.
There is nothing to actually suggest it's going to be a "faithful adaptation,"
nothing. Hell, they could announce they were just modifying the script of the actual game and that still wouldn't mean much, because smart revision, elaboration, and editing can work wonders on a story. You can completely transform what a film's about after production purely through editing. (See
Brazil.)
But none of that really matters, because there's nothing in these pictures to suggest it's a faithful adaptation.
