These things fit in pockets. Tablets do not.
honestly dude, who actually carries a tablet around with them?
that's fucking weird.

Not me. I love Pokémon way to damn much to take that risk lolBy the way, anybody else skipping sun and moon on 3DS because we MIGHT get it on the switch?... Im on the edge, dont know if I should get it on 3DS or not...
It's a games console, the name doesn't tell that,
The promo is already at 8 million views. Only 1.3 million more to pass the BotW trailer as the most viewed video on Nintendo's channel.
I know it's very un-Nintendo, but the shape of those bottom triggers certainly leaves it as a possibility.

Doubt Gamefreak would ever do ports, they actually may even release a sequel/third version of SM on the 3DS next year too like they did with the DS while they wait for the install base of the Switch to growBy the way, anybody else skipping sun and moon on 3DS because we MIGHT get it on the switch?... A handheld with a dock is pretty much exactly what I want. If it has all of Nintendo's software as well as Pokemon mainline games and the great games that generally come out for 3DS, as well as some major 3rd party AAA games that run on great scalable engines? Sign me right the fuck up.
Really? The Switching.

I agree with you. I'm looking forward to it. But there are a LOT of people, Nintendo fans included, who do not give a shit about portability. If that's the case for someone this hardware is probably pretty disappointing and won't cut it.

It has to sell at least 75 million to be more succesfull than 3ds and wiiu combined...
I'm not sure the Switch can do that.
As long as it's on par with XB1/PS4, which all signs point to it being, I think those people will still be satisfied. I don't think anyone will be grabbing this system expecting it to offer the next big leap in graphics/power. Hell, Nintendo hasn't even targeted that audience in... how long now?
Everyone I know carries a backpack around with them to and from work, and has tablets/laptops as well as gym gear and other stuff with them.
I literally don't know anyone who just shows up to work with just their wallet, keys, and phone.
THAT would be fucking weird to me.
They really lose me at the detachable controllers. I just do not see the appeal.
I'm still interested in the console, but that idea just makes little sense to me.
What?
Where have we seen that it's that powerful? Grabbing that from a few seconds of an NBA title that might not even be from NX is quite a leap in logic.

I think there most value will be in that they double as motion controllers. Otherwise, yeah they are kinda pointless, if there is the pro controller.
That pretty much sounds like me. And well, almost everyone in the office.
I brought an umbrella today though, it's pissing down.
I'd be surprised at the opposite. It's something that seems to have no function except give less range of motion to the detached joy-cons; how much are people willing to spend for that?I'd be surprised if the Joy-Con Grip is packed in.
Then I'll eat a 3DS card.Norse said:What if that skyrim footage was just the switches's ability to be used as a device for streaming games from your PC, Or other console and wasn't running on the switch at all?
Ditching the screen and battery is not going to save a hundred bucks. Hell, you can buy a whole tablet with a higher resolution than that for a hundred bucks.Naudi said:Yeah now do a version without the screen for cheaper. Like 100$ less atleast sounds about right.
If they're a person who doesn't care about any of the things unique to Switch, the reason they should buy it is that they are an idiot.PdotMichael said:But why should a customer buy a Switch for home console gaming if there are alternatives with better graphics for the same price?
All the arguments for picking the Switch fall down to "but Nintendo games".
The video didn't show them, but I'm not really worried about them yet. The same rumors that have been right on pretty much everything else say they're in, so I'll believe that too. Nintendo would have to be superdumb to willingly ditch the control advances that pushed them to their biggest successes ever in DS and Wii.seady said:With so many configuration of control they are trying to put in the Switch, I can't believe they take out the most important of all (and one that Nintendo started with in the market) : THE TOUCH SCREEN.
I really love the DS era with the innovation they brought to touch screen gaming. Now they back out of that. Same with motion control.
It seems when it comes to game discs Nintendo gets to be last in, first out.EleventhHourSuperpower said:Looks like Breath of the Wild might be the final Nintendo disc-based title.
Remember in recent years they produced new GameCube controllers for use on Smash Wii U, analog shoulders intact.Still no pressure sensitive triggers huh?
Goes back to this probably.

The GC controller had amazing analogue triggers and the Wii Classic Controller had pretty good ones. After this nonsense, the Wii Classic Controller Pro removed them.
Rumors, that have largely panned out, claim it has a more powerful CPU than XB1 and PS4, but a slightly less powerful GPU, but it's a completely different architecture from the APU in the other consoles, so it really remains to be seen. Tegra's no slouch, and I think most believe it to be a custom chip based on their latest architecture. In fact that's what Nvidia said themselves, for all intents and purposes.
Okay. First off, I'm beyond excited that the portable hybrid console rumour turned out to be true. Getting to play /all/ of Nintendo's games on just one system is betond amazing.
But I have to admit that I'm honestly pretty underwhelmed by the look/design of the system itself. There are so many tablets and phones out there that look so much classier/premium-looking than the Switch. And even as a docked home sonsole, the PS4 and XB1S have a much nicer design.
At the end of the day, I'm still gging to be buying the Switch but I guess I was just hoping for something a bit nicer looking. /:

Nah, I'm getting it on 3DS. I'll play it, love it, and then probably skip any Switch version that comes out.By the way, anybody else skipping sun and moon on 3DS because we MIGHT get it on the switch?... Im on the edge, dont know if I should get it on 3DS or not...
Seriously.The fuck?
This is the most sleek system you'll ever get from them Nintendo. The fact it doesn't look like a fisher price toy is a miracle. I mean you can't expect it to look like a iPhone or some shit especially with the hardware it's packing.
It looks more premium and sleek than the xbox and PS4.
I'm starting to think there is third peace to the switch. something there not showing? There has to be more then just the specs and games left to show. This seems to basic of a hybrid for Nintendo.

So you think the trailer was a... well.... bait and.......
I can't
Link?
People underrate the ability to have both hands free from each other. So happy that I'll be able to have two separate controller pieces again, that comfort was the best thing about the Wii remote and nunchuk. And no wire this time as well!
Last time my girlfriend and I tried the switch it didn't go too well.

ok, i can see that but whose really going to buy this? It's one thing that pokemon go became a fad sensation for a time there but to shell out 200 or 300 plus dollars is going to be a tough one. Especially since your smart phone now costs you full price (paid per month). Whose gonna do a smart phone AND this device?
Nintendo has a very dedicated base but beyond that i just don't see it reaching the crowd that the wii did. Without that casual crowd it's going to be the same outcome as the wiiu and gamecube.
