Biggest meltdown on a game show ever?

What the fuck. This show is just televised torture.

There was a Radiolab episode not too long ago that had a segment on the Golden Ball, and one particular episode where a contestant used an unusual strategy- swore up and down for an hour or two that he was going to pick Steal, wouldn't budge on it, and promised to split it 50/50 after the show if the other person picked Split.

Since e3 is around the corner...

I couldn't get past this gif. Holy shit. I never watched this show much because it just rewards thinking like everyone else, but these images make me reconsider

My dad loves this show. We used to play along and shout answers.

I think he wanted us to try to go on the show at some point. We did get pretty good after a while.

Jesus Christ is that a real show? That is fucking horrible, what the fuck UK? And also, it's a shit idea, basically from the moment one person decides to steal, the other person already automatically lost, because at "best" they both lose... What the fuck?

On a happy note, those family feud jpgs/gifs are amazing

Prisoner's Dilemma is quite a common idea in game theory, and it's appeared in quite a few game shows. The earliest I know of was Trust Me, and since then it's appeared in Shafted, The Bank Job, Golden Balls.

This is an interesting playing of the Dilemma from Golden Balls.

...deeply in...LOVE!
The only other possible answer I can think of is 'debt'.

It's not like the UK's Family Fortunes where there are half a dozen possible answers to the question, here there was one obvious answer and maybe one or two much less obvious ones. In the UK it would be 'Name a hot beverage' or 'name a brightly coloured flower' where there are tons of possible answers but this seems very lopsided.

Yeah I thought this would be a video where you make fun of someone for being dumb but that was legit tough.

Why? What's wrong about being able to think like everyone else?

I don't know what's objectively wrong with it

For me though, it's not an interesting type of "figure out what other people think" game. The show with the couples who have to guess what the other person wrote down seems more fun since it's one person's thoughts (rather than a general survey) which then have to be figured out by one other person who knows them well.

Steve Harvey FF seems hilarious because of himself and contestant reactions, but the core game still strikes me as uninteresting.

You'd like Pointless. It sort of the same except getting answers that less people guessed is better.

You have questions like 'Name a country that begins and ends with the same letter', and Australia is a really bad answer because loads of people would get it so you'd probably score about 80, because 80ish of the hundred people they survey would get it. But Central African Republic would be a great answer, probably only two or three of the hundred people would know that one. And if you give a wrong answer like Ohio or Canada or something you get the maximum 100 points.

Another one from the UK, from a show called The Chase, one of the funniest things I've ever watched

Oh man this one got me.

I really like Pointless, and I like both Armstrong and Osman but the show rarely makes me laugh...it's a good show but I've yet to see anything really funny come out of it.

This game show the people basically have to vote for the contestant they have to give money too. This guy's answer on why he won't give money to one guy is pretty brazen to say on national television.

I remember the gaf thread on this clip, and the crazy theory that maybe it was a set up by the racist and black guy to guilt everybody to give him the money and they would split it after the show
