Breaking: School shooting in San Bernadino

I don't think it's unreasonable to know where your gun is at least every 24 hours except in extenuating circumstances. If your entire gun safe was stolen and you were gone on vacation, fine then you'd be exonerated in the investigation were that gun to be used in a crime. If your gun safe was stolen and you were around the house for days then there's no excuse. If you have no gun safe then it shouldn't fucking matter.

On top of that I think gun owners should pay insurance to help pay for police investigation of stolen guns, some gun crimes, and to help subsidize gun training courses for those that may not be able to afford them but still want to exercise their rights. Training should be extensive and go through all the risks, safety concerns, and even situational training. It should have to be re-upped every couple years at least, and you should have to prove you're keeping up with safety by providing evidence of safes, etc.

Absolutely agree. Though we would still have those morons that would complain they're paying too much to own a gun. We gotta find some middle ground here and this is the best option imo

Not as sad as this country refusing to take steps to prevent these things from happening.

Really the worst part about preventing these events is that neither side is doing anything.

E: eghh now I'm getting hypocritical for talking gun control as this isn't the place to do it.

Some people saying the Sandy Hook massacre should have been the turning point. I think that The Columbine one years before that should have been the turning point.

Gun laws should be tighter in America. But the NRA has a lot of sway. Which is a very sad.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
If Trump doesn't say anything if the shooter is white....

Did this seem like an appropriate post in your head?

I wonder how quickly did trumps boner died when he learned the shooter is white?

I'm sure the deceased and their families are taking comfort in the fact that their deaths have given you the opportunity to make a shitty half-joke about the president's genitals. Well done buddy.

Fingers crossed for the wounded.

Unfortunately the most vocal response to this will be the same fucked up, bizarre response as it always is in the US - "The solution to this is MORE guns".

Meanwhile the rest of the world looks on dumbfounded, wondering just what exactly it will take for your nation to realise a law written over 200 years ago likely needs an update.

What am I looking for here? Or is it just a photo of the broadcast to show the kids lined up by class?

And Thurston High School before that, and Heath High School before that, and Frontier Middle School before that, the list goes on and on and on and on.

The Thurston High School shooting took place on May 21, 1998. Expelled student Kip Kinkel first murdered his parents before engaging in a school shooting at Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon that left two students, Ben Walker and Mikael Nickolauson, dead and 25 others wounded.[1] He is serving a 111-year sentence without the possibility of parole.

Fuck.

Wonder what he's thinking 19 years later. Killing your family.

Gun nuts are stocking up on ammo right now, I guarantee you.

My GF is a teacher. I worry about her every day.

The stuff she tells me and passes on to me with how 10-12 year olds act now is absolutely HORRID.

Thing is, it's not these kids that are the problem...yes they're now causing the problems, but parenting is absolutely HORRID...it's basically non-existent and people let their kids watch/interact/do whatever they want today.

She confiscates dick pictures from 10 year old girls, pictures of kids hanging other kids, slitting throats....WTF is wrong with parents that kids are drawing/doing this stuff?

My 9 year old wouldn't even think of drawing stuff like that. Heck, I'm pretty sure she couldn't accurately draw a dick and balls like I've seen on some of these confiscated paperworks.

DSS/Police have to be called on a regular basis.

Kids have very, very little respect now days. Their parents are even worse. Guns, knives, porn, etc...just laying around the house. Uncles/Cousins molesting them (all races and ages).

Peoples suck, makes me want to bring my daughters home and never let them go to school.

A San Bernardino police official says two children wounded in a shooting at an elementary school were not the targets.

Police Capt. Ron Maass says, "The children we do not believe were targeted. The suspect had come to the classroom to visit. The adult female was in the classroom."

Police did not identify the shooter or the teacher.

The weapon was a handgun, police said.

The two wounded students are in critical condition.

That's not exactly a new concept, in fact I think it might just be thousands of years old!

If this turns out to be what I suspect it is, some violent, controlling, redpill piece of shit murdering an ex-partner, and in front of children too... There are few crimes that make my rage burn more white-hot.

Is this looking likely?

Haha....each generation does think the next is worse.

However, my parents generation was literally more respectful of each other and life in general. My generation didn't tend to shoot up schools, but seemed a lot more foul mouthed/mentally unstable. My mother said she never lived in fear sending me to school, and I didn't experience ANY of the stuff I see from my GF and these 10-12 year olds. I literally wonder if sending my daughters to school could harm them more than help them sometimes.

If a kid told me he was going to shoot me at recess when I was 8, it was because we were playing cops and robbers, lol.

My daughter's class isn't allowed to play any games or act out any kind of shooting. Cowboys/Indians/Ninjas/Cops and Robbers.....they ban that freaking stuff now.

Anwyay, on topic. I hope these two students pull through. Please let them make it.

Your parents' generation? The one that voted heavily for Trump.

So much respect.

I totally get your protectiveness (and I agree that the world can be a scary place), but the belief that any of that is somehow widespread is probably not an accurate reflection of reality.

No offense but your parents generation was more racist, more sexist and more bigoted towards sexuality too unarguably. So the whole "these kids know no respect" shit is so tiring and flat out untrue. They were no better than the current generation. Period.

Just cause you feel it
, doesn't mean its there. Over the long-term. The rise in shooting of schools is a new, awful trend, however.

More respectful as long as you were white and straight.

Your parents generation was much more respectful. They would say, "Get your lips off my water fountain and go use the coloreds-only one, please."

Kids these days just don't have any manners.

Respect is not the word you're looking for. School shootings spiked sharply in the 90s in large part because of how much attention Columbine got. That's got nothing to do with kids being somehow worse than their parents' generation. Shooters are glorified by the media who then in turn blame everything else but themselves for their proliferation.

I'm drowning in all that respect.

Fuck outta here...

Fucking "good old days" bullshit rhetoric. Absolute garbage and false.

These kids had better pull through. Ill keep them in my thoughts.

Depending on how old you are, your parents generation was around when young black men were murdered for looking at a white girl the wrong way.

So, yea.

I'm sure the previous generations had enough respect to use the proper rope to string them up, can't be getting sloppy.

Sounds like there was a relationship between the two adults of some sort.

Awful that one would choose to confront an issue with violence and even worse that this person chose to do so in a way that hurt children and in front of other children.

A shame he wasn't caught. He doesn't deserve a quick death. Absolutely terrible waste of a person.

Some here keep posting that kids now a days don't have manners, respect, etc.. and Parents aren't doing shit.

What I'm curious about is what is the law now a days regarding discipline? Can parents still spank their kids?

I got my ass whooped when I was little for being a smart ass and not doing what I was told... Eventually that stayed with me in my teenage years and I didn't want to piss off my dad for doing something stupid... something I should know better than doing.

Now that worked for me.

For my younger brother...I mostly helped raise him (Pops was kicked out) I never had to whoop him. Sure a small smack on the hand or small side kick on the butt. But no ass whooping. I constantly spoke to him and he got in trouble I explained how he was lucky because Daddy would whoop his ass if he were around...and it was mostly private convos (and threats here and there)...and alot of patience. But he made it through his teenage years with no ass whooping from me. He is now a respectful independent 25 year old. I'm proud of him.

I believe there are different ways to getting through kids. IMO, that talking stuff wouldn't have worked on me. I would have told you what you wanted to hear and laughed at your gullibility after you left. I needed my ass whoopings. Or else I would've thought I was too smart to get in serious trouble and would have thought I could get away with almost anything.

Yep kids have always been crazy. It's the new generation of parents that's causing our schools to suffer. You can always trace it back to the parents

Uhm. The sheer amount of exposure to outside influences kids have and its impact has a greater impact than any previous generation.

Don't need research to tell me that.

Edit: Just read previous comments and i do agree Humans were definitely less humane. However, I am referring to the parent/child relationship as well as the amount of violent literature and obscenity they are exposed to and it impacts on child behavior.

Nicole Cevario's attempted attack at the beginning of this month, now this.
There should be increased security at all schools. Students shouldnt have to worry about guns and violence on top of learning.
