Whatever happened to Breath of Fire V? Surely there's hope!
There's no well-structured RPG in a tablet/phone environment.
? It's for PS2.
The day started only 2 hours and 44 minutes ago and it is already ruined! >=(
Remember when you ASSHOLES made fun of me for this thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=631806
THIS IS KARMA! SUCKERS!
TWELVE MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS TO GO!
Do we know what the social elements consist of yet? I don't really play social games, is it the shit that badgers you to hassle facebook friends and the like?Breath of Fire used to be a big, substantial RPG series. Imagine if <your favorite game series> had its next mainline (not a spinoff) entry announced as a social game for touch devices. Points if you have been waiting for the next entry in the series for over a decade.
It's the assumption it is going to be some social F2P crap.
I can understand the social / F2P fears but it just seems like it might be an idea to wait and see rather than jumping off a bridge and worrying about it later. The original BoF games would've been suitable to touch controls, that's not the problem. The problem is everything else.
People didn't get my joke.
i can't progress coz of the goddamn bats killing me
I want to be optimistic. I mean it's just a regular old turn based RPG that is made to be controlled with touch or mouse isn't it? Isn't it?
I think this is the ultimate "be careful of what you wish for" moment for a lot of us lol.
Bwahahaha! I'm gonna go grab some lunch... when I get back, I'm gonna keep reading these hilarious entertaining posts :lol
I actually think "Oh hey, a JPRG for PC. This wouldn't be bad."
Then Online/Touch.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahha. Capcom has no shame. BoF6! Numbered sequel! Touch Online RPG! Loooooooooooooooooooool.
I think most peoples problem is its on mobile platforms first and foremost. Beats me why its a problem. Capcom likes money?

If they announced Streets of Rage 4 for Casio calculators I'd still puke with excitement.

Thanks to the three of you for not jumping down my throat, I can see this is clearly a hot-button topic.
So, uh, at the risk of getting trampled, what's the actual problem here?
Is the game thought to be poorly suited to touch controls? Is it the way it looks? Is it both? Something else entirely?
I appreciate this probably sounds like a stupid question but I'm not all that familiar with the series as I'm not big on the ol' RPGs.
Is this the future of Japanese Development? Phone/tablet crap?
Also was there something going on where Capcom announced this and showed off the Deep Down stuff?
This sort of optimism might be warranted if it wasn't capcom we were talking about.
Twewy shows that there's no reason one couldn't exist, but this is no twewy.
Breath of Fire 6 has been announced
for PC/Tablet/Smartphones.
Online touch RPG.
