Bullshots have ruined my excitement for next-gen

It's mostly full of screenshots without aliasing at highly playable resolutions.

Obviously it depends on what game it is but the shots are then scaled down in an image editor. edit: and of course "playable" is open to interpretation when some people don't mind sub 30 frames

Source? Or is that just your opinion?

As you play Second Son, you’ll explore lots of Seattle’s familiar landmarks. As with all games in this series, the path the gameplay and story take will depend on the decisions you make along the way. Of course, we are creating all these characters and locations at a remarkable level of detail – made possible by PS4. In fact, this trailer was produced in-house using our game engine – can you tell we’re having fun with the new GPU, tools, and our new VFX system?

As for the Killzone demo...

Well there you go! He wouldn't flat out LIE... right?

I will get hype as soon as people get to go hands-on with the games and confirm they look that good. Killzone 2 and A:CM have me distrusting most trailers.

I thought about making a thread about the pre-release hype vs. actuality of new console releases. I decided against it because it wouldn't change anyones mind.

Going from past history despite what people say how this time is different:

1) Launches always suck. See the rest of the reasons.
2) A good portion of launch & 1st year games will be significantly delayed
3) There is a good chance what you think is a live demo is CGI
4) If it is not CGI, there is a good chance it was prerecorded and fixed up.
5) If it is not CGI or prerecorded, there is a good chance it was running on "representative hardware" and will have to be downgraded before release.
6) There is a good chance that developers and PR people are twisting the truth as much as possible without outright lying about "live" demos.

Launches suck and historically every single time lead to disappointment. The best games get delayed, leaving only the worst in the launch window.

But feel free to post how this time its going to be different because someone you trust in the industry said this time its real.

Edit. Optimistically, the PS4 being a PC probably means it won't be as bad as the disastrous first 2 years of the PS3.

this is whats wrong. uninformed posters who don't bother to read through the xxenth threads and saying shit like its bullshots.

on the one hand in threads, these games aren't impressive. Then concurrently they cannot be that impressive.

:eyeroll

The only problem with the excessive use of bullshot for current-gen is that people are questioning next-gen games. People would be generally surprised at the gameplay level of quality for next-gen titles and how close it'll be to bullshots of current-gen games.

I hope that rendered cutscenes are a thing of a past.

I'm the OP and that's basically exactly what I was trying to say.

I think he's lying too. The movement didn't seem natural and the way he landed on the building at the end was a little too convenient.
