Capcom announces Dead Rising: Chop Til' You Drop for US (Press Release inside)

i dont have a wii, havent followed chop till you drop, but holy shit what an awesome trailer! :lol

i really hope the game turns out great and is a success. frank west and the dead rising IP must live on and spawn sequels (already rumored). this thread has inspired me to start a new playthrough :)

I'm actually looking forward to this game. I've played the 360 version and I hated the save system which is not going to be in this version. Hopefully the game is not crap. It could surprise quite a few people, I remember a lot of people said No More Heroes wasn't going to get good reviews, even people looking forward to the game and it got a very good critical reception. It goes great with the B-movie/Tarintino feel that a lot of Wii games seem to have (No More Heroes, House of the Dead: Overkill, Escape from Bug Island, Mad World).

I'm looking forward to this game too. I loved Dead Rising on the 360, and I think RE4:Wii's controls and waggle will put an interesting twist on it. Also I will kind of enjoy seeing how Wii version holds up against the original; like how it used to be fun to see how close the home version would be to the arcade.

I'll buy this game. I may never play it, but I'll buy it. Whatever is required to keep the IP alive.
I don't know how to feel about that. I want a Dead Rising 2 badly but it seems Capcom is just farming that out, and this port looks pretty sketchy.

Agreed. But I'm thinking if this game flops then they may give up on the series entirely.

Of course, I could be completely wrong. It could go the other way. If this sells like mad, then they may never make a good Dead Rising again.

I don't understand - didn't Dead Rising 1 on X360 sell very well? Why don't we have a proper sequel on 360/PS3?
Who say's they aren't working on it. I personally think they are.

Dead Rising 2 by some western dev. is one of the worst kept secrets

Bunch of new screens from the CES... this is only about half of them. Figured 36+ screens would be too much:

Thankfully the blood doesn't look as bad in motion as it does in those screens.

This visual downgrade saddens me greatly, though. The grocery store looked so amazing on the 360.

I'll be picking this up for sure. Was a HUGE Dead Rising fan (still own it on 360)and even with the downgrades, the additional costumes, enemies, and psychopath + Wii controls + $40 at launch = MINE!

Looks like they toned down the violence for the wii version. Or maybe just for Japan?
The disembowel and neck twist moves are much gorier in the 360 version.

For once, the "looks like a PSP game" trolls would be correct.

Still could be fun though, it's just sad to see the game look so bad when the original was a spectacle, and games like Tenchu prove that you can have a mature looking game with detailed faces on Wii. I know, I know, but the zombies are so numerous!

I had a lot of hope for this game, but it just really looks budget. Will rent.

If they're anything like Okami's or RE4 on wii, then no, they won't.
SHOTS FIRED!!1

You'll get some RE4 fans angered there, fo' sho.

ugh, it's like this game takes after the original 360 version (when all the zombies above ground were killed by those black ops guys)

Hopefully it plays well?

edit: What's with the incredibly washed out picture? Someone needs to tune the image to at least give us some nice contrast and color.

Okami's controls were fine. They were definitely more immersive, if a bit less precise than the PS2 controls.

RE4: Wii Edition controls were fucking amazing, though. A good majority of the people agree, too. That's why it's going to be hard playing RE5 for so many people when it has worse controls and the same animations.

So I take it the massive horde won't be in the underground parking lot for this one? *hugs 360 version*

Sorry for the bump, I saw something and I thought I should share it with you guys:

It's probably well under consideration or possibly unannounced development at some stage. Capcom has even said we don't know half of what they;re working on at any given time. But aside from that, they seem to keep a very full schedule and a full on DR sequel now on PS360 would have likely meant a delay in another game on those systems like Lost Planet, DMC4, RE5, SFIV, Bionic Commando etc etc. Not to mention the stuff they make for Wii, portables and online services. it's not like Capcom's slacking around.

Cutscene? The Wii version uses cutscenes from the Xbox360 version, just prerendered if I remember correctly. Which means the problem in this case isn't the Wii, it's Capcom's capturing equipment.

I wanted to post this :lol it is ridiculous. Everything else had been looking decent--I don't know what could have happened to Isabella! Maybe this is just a bad cutscene?

Its just a bad screenshot, for sure.

Take SF IV for example, if the first shot of Guile I had seen was this one:

I would prooobably have some issues with the art :lol
